Abstract The central characteristics of simplified subscribed capital reduction are its very narrow purpose, and a weakened regime of safeguarding of creditors. The main and, frankly, only purpose of the institution is recovery. It is namely most difficult to expect from a distressed company undergoing simplified subscribed capital reduction, which is first and foremost intended for recovery, to safeguard its creditors in the same extent as in the case of ordinary reduction of subscribed capital. The article provides an analysis of the intent and purpose of simplified subscribed capital reduction and the regulations governing the safeguarding of creditors. Using a descriptive method, subject matter analysis, and comparative legal analysis of the issue, the article elaborates on why regulations governing the safeguarding of creditors are too weak with regard to the effects brought forth by this type of subscribed capital reduction and proposes appropriate supplementation and amendments to applicable legislation.

- A precise definition of the principles and basis of the food product liability is included in an unusually broad scope of the food safety subject matter. Having regard to the whole set of Polish legal tools for food safety, the reader's attention was focused on civil-legal aspects of producer's liability for harm caused by food product's defect. The idea of the article, however, was not exclusively a detailed legal analysis of Polish legal solutions within this subject matter, but mainly an attempt to interpret these regulations which arouse most doubts in the Polish practice, especially from the point of view of their compliance with the Community regulations. The legal harmonization is undoubtedly of crucial importance in this sphere. It needs emphasizing that the majority of essential legal issues related to the subject matter of food safety as formulated in the Community law has been reflect119 ed in the Polish legislation. Currently this subject matter is regulated on the Polish legal area by the act of 25 August 2006 about the safety of food and feeding. It can be claimed, however, that the regulation of the liability for harm caused by unsafe product (comprising also the notions of agricultural produce and food product) in the Polish legislation complies with the requirements of the Community law. The shortcomings pointed out in the course of considerations absolutely do not allow to conclude that the objective of harmonization has not been achieved. This does not eliminate, however, the necessity to bring about changes postulated in the course of legislative considerations. In the Polish doctrine it is stressed that from theoretical, dogmatic point of view especially the new regime of liability for unsafe product (comprising agricultural produce and food product) should constitute a facilitation for claims to be made by the harmed person. It will, however, be the judicial practice which will decide about its legal efficiency.Parole chiave: responsabilitĂ  civile, prodotto alimentare, rischio di sviluppo e progresso.Key words: Liability, Food Product, Risk of Development and Progress.

Article concerns with a stylistic analysis on a poem in terms of Systemic Functional Linguistics and Verbal Art Semiotics. The writing uses library research, qualitative data, documentary study, descriptive method and intrinsic-objective approach. The semantic analysis results in both automatized and foregrounded meanings. Then the automatized meaning produces lexical cohesion and in turn, it produces subject matter. Meanwhile, the foregrounded meaning produces the literary meaning and in turn, it creates theme. Finally, the analysis indicates that the subject matter is about the establishment of Cambridge University, the literary meaning is about eternal thoughts of Cambridge University, and the theme is about intelligence.

This research discusses one of the types of subjects functioning as a theme proposed by Halliday (1985) in the English Declarative Clause which is called the Psychological Subject. Halliday claims the interpretation of Psychological subject into as something which is the concern of the message. It is the first constituent which becomes a ‘subject-matter’ of the clause. The data are taken from two kinds of books. The first one is an autobiography book and the second one is a medical book. The aim of this research is to identify the kinds of the theme found in psychological subjects in the English Declarative Clause and also categories found in psychological subjects functioning as a theme. The method used is a descriptive method and the technique employed is paraphrasing. The descriptive method was used to depict the empirical data discovered in those sources. Meanwhile, the paraphrasing technique was employed in order to explore the characteristics of psychological subject functioning as a theme, types of theme and categories of syntactic units. The study shows that Psychological Subject (PS) functioning as a theme can be filled by words and groups which could be realized by nominal groups (nouns and pronouns), nominal group complexes, adverbial groups or prepositional phrases. Nominal groups (nouns and pronouns) and nominal group complexes can be identified as unmarked themes which are ordinary, expected, and usual form according to Deterding (2001), Gerot and Wignel (1994) identified as the subject of the sentence. Meanwhile, adverbial groups and prepositional phrases could be identified as marked themes because they become the first constituents which perform the point of the departure of the message in the clause.
