Research design uses quasi experimental design with metode non-randomized control group pretest-posttest design. Research data was obtained as follows: data processing result on experiment group show that physical activity to VO2max got significant score based calculating using SPSS of 0,00 and physical activity to nutrional status got sig. of 0,60. Whereas in the control group, physical actifity got sig. of 0.20 to VO2max and sig. to 0.11 on nutrional status. Based on the above analysis it can be concluded that physical activity has a significant effect on physical fitness but physical activity has no significant effect on nutrional status to Surabaya vocational high school students.

To teach the most central concepts in evolutionary biology, we present an activity in pollination biology. Students play the role of either pollinator or flower and work through a set of scenarios to maximize plant fitness. This “Pollination Game” facilitates critical and inquiry-based thinking, and we accompany each round of the exercise with a set of discussion questions and answers. We have piloted and fine tuned this exercise with high school students, and improved the exercise with the input of high school teachers at a teaching conference. The activity could easily be adapted for freshman undergraduate students.

Mathematical literacy and self-efficacy of students in terms of differences in zoning system policies.AbstractThis study aimed to (1) describe the mathematical literacy abilities and self-efficacy of eleventh-grade senior high school students; (2) describe the impact of differences in zoning system policies on the mathematical literacy and self-efficacy of eleventh-grade senior high school students; and (3) describe the relationship between mathematical literacy and self-efficacy of eleventh-grade senior high school students. This survey involved 346 students from Banjarmasin City and 321 students from Palangka Raya City, Indonesia. The two cities have different zoning policies. The data was collected through tests and questionnaires that met the valid and reliable criteria. The data analysis technique used was descriptive and inferential statistics. The results showed that students’ mathematical literacy in Banjarmasin and Palangka Raya City was in a low category, while self-efficacy in both cities was in the medium category. There was no significant difference in the mean of mathematical literacy of students in Banjarmasin and Palangka Raya City. However, there was a significant difference in the mean of self-efficacy of students in Banjarmasin and Palangka Raya City. The zoning policy in Palangka Raya City causes differences in the mean of mathematical literacy of students in high, moderate, and low category schools. In contrast, the zoning policy in Banjarmasin City causes differences in the mean of self-efficacy of students in high, medium, and low category schools. Lastly, there was a significant positive correlation (although weak) between mathematical literacy and self-efficacy of eleventh-grade senior high school students in Banjarmasin and Palangka Raya City (r = 0.194).

The education system acknowledges the relevance and impact of arts in exploring students' different skills and competencies.  However, most of the learners remain bias on the purpose and essence of art-based activities since most of the strands offered in senior high school are academically designed through the K-12 program, which guides and prepares incoming college students in choosing their career path.  Hence, this study attempted to determine the vital role of arts-based instructional approaches to enrich students' learning in one selected catholic Senior High school in Manila, Philippines.  Applying a qualitative approach through intensive interviews, 15 Health Allied students participated in this study.  Results revealed that arts are highly integrated with the delivery of the different lessons of the involved strand.  Moreover, arts proved that they have solid and influential roles in improving students' quality of learning.  Furthermore, the impact and relevance of arts as an instructional approach supports the learning process of health allied students. Thus, this research informs and guides the teachers and students on the importance and impact of art as an overlooked field in education that maximizes one's potentials.
