The materials of the article the analysis of periodic research reports on prospects of feed «Aller Aqua» in the diet of rainbow trout. Overview conceptual experience of increasing the volume of production of this important sector of agricultural production as the breeding and rearing of trout. Trout industry is the most productive direction of the coldwater aquaculture. Costs highly specialized feed for growing trout reach 70% of the total cost of the fish, so the features of feeding, nutritional feed and cultivation technology is relevant and of interest to manufacturers. Today on the Ukrainian market sales volume of feed for trout is a leading foreign firms: Aller Aqua, Biomar, Skretting and others. The quality of the manufactured products of domestic manufacturers often inferior to the requirements of the feed for trout, as domestic production is not always withstand competition. Therefore, at the present rate of trout industry as a promising field of fish farming, and the corresponding demand for feed for valuable fish species such high dependence on imports, now greatly reduces the volume of cold-water aquaculture cultivation sites that accordingly obliges producers special animal feed to improve their quality. The basis of our research is tasked with optimizing normalized using feeding trout feed «Aller Aqua» and results analysis and comparative characteristics of growing trout using Ukrainian feed manufacturers. Purpose is to clarify the nature of the impact of feed «Aller Aqua» and physiological metabolism, growth, development, reproduction and obtaining marketable products rainbow trout that could be the basis for conclusions about the appropriateness and use of feed rules «Aller Aqua», and the possibility of alternative feed means in terms of economy.

In the context of future aquaculture intensification, a longitudinal ten-year evaluation of the current traditional rainbow trout production in Ireland was performed. Publically available and independent data obtained from local authorities were gathered and analysed. Inlet and outlet concentrations of parameters such as BOD5, ammonium, nitrite, dissolved oxygen and pH for four consecutive flow-through fish farms covering the four seasons over a ten-year period (2005–2015) were analysed. The objectives of the study were (i) to characterize the impact of each fish farm on water quality in function of their respective production and identify any seasonal variability, (ii) to quantify the cumulative impact of the four farms on the river quality and to check if the self-purification capacity of the river was enough to allow the river to reach back its background levels for the analysed parameters, (iii) to build a baseline study for Ireland in order to extrapolate as a dataset for expected climate change and production intensification. For most of the parameter analysed, no significant impact of the fish farming activity on water quality/river quality was observed. These results, the first ones generated in Ireland so far, will have to be completed by a survey on biodiversity and ecotoxicology and compared after production intensification and the likely future introduction of water treatment systems on the different sites.

AbstractIndividual Maillard reaction products (MRPs), namely furosine, which is formed from Amadori product of lysine during acid hydrolysis, as well as N-ε-(carboxymethyl)lysine (CML), pyrraline and the arginine derivative MG-H1 (methylglyoxal-derived hydroimidazolone 1) were quantified in 78 samples of animal feed, belonging to 17 different feed types. The concentrations of the MRPs were dependent on the heat treatment during processing. Within similar feed types, significant differences in concentrations could be observed. MRPs can be suitable indicators to evaluate the impact of technological processing on the nutritional quality of animal feed.

The article presents the results of an estimation of defectiveness level of sour-milk production (on an example kefir), developed on one of dairy factories of region. To assess the level of defect, statistical methods of control are used - a checklist for the registration of defective products, a control p-chart and Ishikava diagram. The initial data were obtained at the stage of quality control of finished product and entered in the developed form of the control sheet for product defects. The most common defect in the production is established - the leakage of the package, which can be assessed visually, and not with the help of measuring instruments. For evaluation and subsequent analysis of the reasons for the appearance of the established defect, a control p-chart was used on an alternative basis, which makes it possible to control the quality of manufactured products by the number of defective products. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, it was established that the technological process, from the point of view of statistical forecasting, is acceptable, but this does not mean a high production stability and does not exclude the appearance of defective products. The analysis of the main reasons for the emergence of unsealed packaging products, among them the qualification of personnel, the quality of the used materials and the conditions for their storage, the production environment, compliance with production technology, and others. A subsequent study of the impact of each of these factors will prevent the appearance of defective products and ensure the production of consistently high quality products.

Abstract Fish farming and especially rearing and breeding of rainbow trout and carp is one of potential sources of surface water pollution. The study was aimed at assessing the effect of a rainbow trout farm on water quality in the Gowienica River in winter. Temperature, pH, electrolytic conductivity, total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, BOD5, CODCr, alkalinity, water hardness, calcium, magnesium, ammonium-nitrogen, nitrate-nitrogen (III and V) and total phosphorus were determined according to Polish Norms and APHA [1995] in water samples collected in winter up- and downstream the study object. The increment of pollutant concentrations in rainbow trout farm effluents was referred to the requirements in Rozporządzenie MŚ [2006]. Performed studies and literature review show that effluents from the assessed fish farm did not worsen water quality of the river. Increased concentrations of total suspended solids and CODCr in effluents were noted only in March. According to data from the report on environmental status in zachodniopomorskie province in the years 2008-2011, poor water quality of the Gowienica River is recorded already upstream the rainbow trout farm. Pollution of this stretch of the river may originate from uncontrolled waste water management and from nutrient runoff from fields.

Abstract One of the most important aspects related to the proper functioning of prosperous enterprises in the wood industry is to ensure safe and hygienic working conditions. The fulfillment of this condition is obligatory for all workplaces regardless of the field of activity. Due to the specificity of the industry based on wood processing, this industry is inseparably connected with the problem of pollination at workplaces. The chips that are formed during processing make it difficult to work, remain in and around workplaces, creating additional risks and impairing the quality of the manufactured products. It is therefore necessary to apply solutions to eliminate the dust hazard. One of such solutions, belonging to collective protection measures against pollination, are dedusting installations. One of the tools to improve working conditions is mandatory risk assessment. Thanks to its reliable implementation, it is possible to identify hazards occurring at workplaces and take measures to improve working conditions. Proper management of occupational risk is one of the key elements to ensure protection against risks at an appropriate level. The article analyzes the impact of the dedusting installation on the reduction of selected health hazards for employees in the selected carpentry shop.

Purpose The purpose of this study was to identify levels of self-compassion in adults who do and do not stutter and to determine whether self-compassion predicts the impact of stuttering on quality of life in adults who stutter. Method Participants included 140 adults who do and do not stutter matched for age and gender. All participants completed the Self-Compassion Scale. Adults who stutter also completed the Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering. Data were analyzed for self-compassion differences between and within adults who do and do not stutter and to predict self-compassion on quality of life in adults who stutter. Results Adults who do and do not stutter exhibited no significant differences in total self-compassion, regardless of participant gender. A simple linear regression of the total self-compassion score and total Overall Assessment of the Speaker's Experience of Stuttering score showed a significant, negative linear relationship of self-compassion predicting the impact of stuttering on quality of life. Conclusions Data suggest that higher levels of self-kindness, mindfulness, and social connectedness (i.e., self-compassion) are related to reduced negative reactions to stuttering, an increased participation in daily communication situations, and an improved overall quality of life. Future research should replicate current findings and identify moderators of the self-compassion–quality of life relationship.

Lung cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers across Northern America and Europe. Treatment options offered are dependent on the type of cancer, the location of the tumor, the staging, and the overall health of the person. When surgery for lung cancer is offered, difficulty swallowing is a potential complication that can have several influencing factors. Surgical interaction with the recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) can lead to unilateral vocal cord palsy, altering swallow function and safety. Understanding whether the RLN has been preserved, damaged, or sacrificed is integral to understanding the effect on the swallow and the subsequent treatment options available. There is also the risk of post-surgical reduction of physiological reserve, which can reduce the strength and function of the swallow in addition to any surgery specific complications. As lung cancer has a limited prognosis, the clinician must also factor in the palliative phase, as this can further increase the burden of an already compromised swallow. By understanding the surgery and the implications this may have for the swallow, there is the potential to reduce the impact of post-surgical complications and so improve quality of life (QOL) for people with lung cancer.
