Gelendzhik is the resort town, there aren't a lot of industrial enterprises here. The main pollutant is transport. The work purpose is the assessment of a condition of the artificial landings of a pine located along the Federal highway "Don" and landings, which is nearly the sea coast. Researches were conducted to a standard technique of the General vital state (A. S. Bogolyubov). The assessment of a condition of pines was carried out during 6 years: from 2010 to 2015. For carrying out research we used 6 experimental grounds on the Markotkhsky spine and 2 control grounds within the town. We investigated 24 trees on each platform, middle age of the trees were 30 - 40 years. Results. 1. The condition of trees in the pine forests located in immediate proximity with the Federal highway "Don" (No. 1, 2, 3) is unsatisfactory. As even weak influences of the majority of atmospheric gaseous pollutants (sulphurous gas, nitrogen oxides, etc.) give effect of a necrosis and hloroz of pine needles, the condition of pines is connected with technogenic pollution. So near the Federal highway "Don" the air environment is strongly polluted by exhaust gases. Information of 2012 confirm that negative influence of the route on Markotkh's vegetation decreases at reduction of load of the route. 2. On the sites located above on a slope (No. 4,5,6) thanks to remoteness and the wind mode intensity of influence of pollutants is lower and a condition of pines the quite satisfactory. 3. Trees on the sites located near the sea (No. 7,8) are in a good shape. Small deterioration of a state is noted in very droughty years. Conclusion. Results of six years' research show that the condition of the plantings which are in close proximity with the road worsens. It is explained by increase in intensity of the movement on the road, especially during a resort season. Gelendzhik is the city with a good ecological shape, but the damage to environment is already caused. If not to take measures, we can lose a unique part of the nature in the future, recreate it will be impossible. Measures of reduction of negative impact of exhaust gases were offered. Results of researches are transferred to ecological department of the City administration of Gelendzhik.

Stylites or pillar ascetics and their Syrian prototype, Symeon the Elder (d. 459), are well known from our literary sources and have been studied extensively within late antique historiography. This is in contrast to the far more limited attention that has been paid to the archaeological evidence of the stylites’ pillars, their spatial setting and infrastructure, their representations and other material forms of evidence. This article seeks to outline what has been achieved so far on the archaeology of the stylites and proposes a possible agenda for future research, particularly in Syria and Mesopotamia. Such work, desperately needed, could also pave the road for a better understanding of the stylites’ Lebenswelten, function and liturgy.

Smoothness is the main feature of road exploitation. It particularly affects movement speed, safety and driving comfort. Evenness of the road belongs of three factors: strength of the pavement construction, heavy vehicle traffic and the impact of the axle mass over it’s term of exploitation. The main negative influence on Lithuanian roads has a overloaded heavy vehicle in excess of the permissible axle load limits. Static and dynamic vehicle weighing equipment and technologies were presented in the article. This article explores overloaded heavy vehicle damage done to Lithuanian roads and its intensity increase. Discuss the basic preventive techniques and methods to prevent the rapid wear of pavements. Also analysis of changes in axial load data through the 2009 August is done.

Abstract PT. Hutama Karya (Persero), according to Presidential Regulation No. 100 of 2014 and No. 117 of 2015, obtained an assignment to construct and operate 24 sections of Trans Sumatera Toll Road along 2,789 km, including Padang - Pekanbaru Toll Road, where almost all of the segments are located in fault areas and in areas with diverse rock formation. In terms of the number of fault locations, the toll road has a greater risk of earthquakes. Whereas in terms of varying rock formations, construction planning and improper structure determination will cause a highly cost-enhancing effect. In the planning stage, the selection of route is one of the mitigations to minimize the risks and impacts of the earthquake disaster. Toll road trajectories are designed optimally by considering the movement of the earth’s plates based on fault data on these locations and data on rock formations for the construction and structure plan of the Toll Road. Input data needed is Geological Secondary Data and Topographic Data containing information on fault areas and rock formations. Therefore, planning with Quantm Trimble software is the right solution. Determining the route with Quantm Trimble software is one of the effective and efficient methods. The main key in determining routes by Quantm Trimble is the software algorithm which can determine the route quickly by considering the main constraints such as avoiding fault areas, avoiding an area with certain rock formations also determining the construction methods on certain rock formation areas. Quantm Trimble software is able to generate several alternative routes based on user-defined constraints, including accommodating the automatic selected smoothing process according to the specified road geometry standard. The software greatly accommodates the determination of the plan by considering risk and disaster management, as well as being able to manage costs well by determining the construction method plan quickly and accurately.

The Acheloos river diversion project includes also works which improve the condition of the infrastructure network in the area. One of them was the improvement of a section at the Mouzaki - Arta national road. The road is developed through geological formations of the Pindos Zone. In the Argithea area, Karditsa County, it cuts through Cretaceous limestone bearing Calpionella. This formation develops high and steep slopes, over 50 m high. It consists of thin to medium bedded limestone, showing locally chert intercalations, and gradational transition to siliceous limestone. Thin silt or clay layers separate bedding. The formations is strongly folded and intensively jointed. The initial design proposed the construction of a slope with H:V relationship of 1:4 and benches every 20 m. The designed geometry was during and soon after excavation destroyed, due to sliding of rock particles. A new geometry was developed possessing a more stable state of dynamic equilibrium. Our task is to investigate and simulate the behavior of this formation. Based on data from both laboratory analysis and literature we ascribed the limestone formation values for its geotechnical properties. Using these values we estimate the values for the Safety Factor for the geometrical features of the slope. We control the stability of the slope using both rock mechanics and soil mechanic methods. The results point that rock formations, like the Cretaceous limestone which exhibit variation in their composition, and high contrast between the geotechnical characteristics values of the composing elements, may be considered as a material with soil properties. The Safety Factor calculation using these assumptions for the above mentioned slope, resulted a geometry close to the one developed. Therefore we conclude that such rock material and formations may successfully be simulated as materials with soil geotechnical behavior.

The research we made for the early beginnings and the developmental path of Turkish literature in the Republic of Macedonia as well as its representatives resulted in this scientific paper. Wealthy literary sources have enabled us to follow its development step by step, that is, to witness through what lows and ups the same has passed, moving towards the top. The information about the founders of Turkish literature in Macedonia is not less scarce, for people who unselfishly and courageously fought for the success of their literature, and we note that every next, literature thirsty generation, courageously steps and strengthens its foundations. These same people are proud founders, representatives and promoters of Turkish literature in our region.

This article reflects the importance of the road network for the social development of society and the development of the economy of the country as a whole. On the basis of literary sources provides complex analysis of roads in Ukraine, their current functional state and tendencies of development. It is established that the road industry is in a rather difficult situation due to unsatisfactory transport and operational conditions of the vast majority of Ukrainian roads. Construction of new roads is extremely rare because of lack of financial resources. Road works are usually carried out to preserve the network of already existing roads and to ensure their necessary transport and operational status. According to the results of the analysis, one of the main reasons for the premature destruction of newly constructed or repaired non-rigid pavements is the low strength of interlayer adhesion in the contact area of the newly covered material with the layer below. The effect of clutch durability between asphalt layers on the road strength has been studied in detail. A number of factors that affect the quality of clutch durability between layers are analyzed. It is established that in order to ensure the strength of grafting between asphalt concrete layers of road clothing, it is necessary to strictly observe the technological regimes of their laying, above all temperature; to take into account the physical and mechanical properties of materials at the construction stage and the influence of climatic and mechanical factors, or most often their complex effect on the operation of the highway.

The importance of physical infrastructure in economic development, trade, employment and in reducing disparity within the country/region has been acknowledged by many scholars. With the help of Composite Development Index of infrastructure, the present study explored that the volume of infrastructure is more important than the level of inter and intra-state disparity. India’s North Eastern Region, identified as most backward region in the country, requires more physical infrastructure, especially the road and communication. Further noticed the relative variations of different indicators were same for almost all states. Those indicators having high coefficient of variation (CV) values are high for almost all the states and vice versa.
