Exploration of healthy nutrition attitudes using a questionnaire survey

Introduction: Nowadays the number of people suffering from different non-communicable diseases is continuously rising. However, the risk of the incidence of these diseases can be reduced with the help of conscious and healthy lifestyle. Aim: The main aim of the study was to explore Hungarian consumers’ attitude related to healthy diet. Method: A questionnaire survey was conducted with 473 respondents. Results: According to the participants it is difficult to make head or tail of information about healthy nutrition, and the “Internet” is the most frequently used source of information. With cluster analysis 3 significantly different consumer groups were identified: participants of the “ambitious” group show positive attitude towards healthy diet; the “health conscious” cluster cares about and actively supports health and diet; and members of the “indifferent” cluster are less interested and do not make a remarkable effort for their healthy diet. Conclusions: Results of the questionnaire survey pointed out the importance of targeted information to relevant consumer groups, as well as the importance of popularization of accurate and reliable information sources. Furthermore, presentation and popularization of cost-effective healthy nutrition are of outstanding importance, especially for consumers in need (e.g. elderly, low-income people). Orv. Currently, 314 million people in the world are Prediabetes, and it is predicted that around 500 million would be burdened by the year 2025. Continuing education of diabetes and its complications is crucial, but it should be accompanied with regular assessment of Knowledge Attitude and Practice (KAP) among the high-risk population. That would play a cost-effective role in prevention and control of the disease.This study was carried out to assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice among the newly diagnosed Prediabetes screened over selected districts of South India.This study was conducted through prediabetes screening camps over districts of Calicut, Wayanad and Malappuram in Kerala and The Nilgiris district in Tamilnadu from September 2017 to October 2019. A questionnaire survey was done as a part of a prospective open-label interventional study with 308 prediabetes individuals. Baseline characteristics of the participants were obtained, and their knowledge, attitude and practice regarding Prediabetes were assessed. The finding of the present study revealed 90% of the respondents had poor knowledge, 9% had average knowledge, and only 1% had good knowledge of Prediabetes. In the attitude assessment, only 1.9% had a strongly positive attitude, 14% had a positive attitude, 54% had neutral attitude while 17% had a negative attitude and 13% had a strongly negative attitude. Regarding healthy lifestyle practices, 35.4% had a deplorable practice that scored below 6. Around half of the population, 52.3% had poor practice, 12% had proper training, while only 0.3% had a perfect practice.Knowledge and practice regarding lifestyle modifications among prediabetes participants were found to be reduced.

Alternative health practices have become increasingly popular in recent years. Many patients visit specific complementary practitioners, while others attempt to educate themselves, trusting advice from employees at local health food stores or the Internet. Thirty-two retail health food stores were surveyed on the nature of the information provided by their staff. A research assistant visited the stores and presented as the mother of a child in whom Crohn’s disease had been diagnosed. Seventy-two per cent (23 of 32) of store employees offered advice, such as to take nutritional and herbal supplements. Of the 23 stores where recommendations were made, 15 (65%) based their recommendation on a source of information. Fourteen of the 15 stores using information sources used the same reference book. This had a significant impact on the recommendations; the use of nutritional supplements was favoured. In conclusion, retail health food stores are not as inconsistent as hypothesized, although there are many variances in the types of supplements recommended for the same chronic disease.

The cornerstone to successful aging is maintaining a consistent physical activity routine and healthy diet. This is particular important for aging adults to preserve their independence. However, for low-income aging adults there are significant individual and environmental barriers that reduce their ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Understanding how environmental supports can be found in existing programs geared toward older adults is a way to insure long-term behavioral changes.

BACKGROUND Regular physical activity (PA), adequate gestational weight gain (GWG), and healthy eating are important for the long-term health of both mother and baby. Hence, it is important that women receive current and updated advice on these topics and are encouraged to adopt a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to investigate the main information sources among pregnant women regarding PA, GWG, and nutrition as well as to evaluate how these information sources may affect their health behaviors. METHODS A cross-sectional study design, comprising an electronic questionnaire, was distributed to 2 antenatal clinics, as well as pregnancy-related online chat forums and social media. The inclusion criteria were ≥18 years, ≥20 weeks gestation, and able to read and write Norwegian. In total, 150 pregnant women answered the questionnaire, which was a mix of 11-point Likert scales, close-ended questions, and semi–close-ended questions with the option to elaborate. The relationship between information sources and selected variables, including health behaviors and descriptive variables, were assessed by logistic regression, linear regression, or chi-square as appropriate (P<.05). RESULTS Mean age (years), gestation week, and prepregnancy body mass index (kg/m2) were 31.1 (SD 4.3), 30.6 (SD 5.9), and 24.2 (SD 4.2), respectively. More than eight out of 10 had received or retrieved information about nutrition (88.7%, 133/150) and PA (80.7%, 121/150), whereas 54.0% (81/150) reported information on GWG. When combining all 3 lifestyle factors, 38.5% had retrieved information from blogs and online forums and 26.6%, from their midwife or family physician. Women who reported the internet and media as their primary source of information on weight gain had increased odds of gaining weight below the Institute of Medicine (IOM) guidelines compared with gaining within the guidelines (odds ratio [OR] 15.5, 95% CI 1.4-167.4; P=.02). Higher compliance with nutritional guidelines was seen among those who cited the internet and media as their main source of information on nutrition (beta=.7, 95% CI 0.07-1.3; P=.03). On the other side, receiving advice from friends and family on weight gain was significantly associated with gaining weight above the IOM guidelines compared with gaining within the guidelines (OR 12.0, 95% CI 1.3-111.7; P=.03). No other associations were found between information sources and health behaviors. CONCLUSIONS The small number of health professionals giving information and the extensive use of internet- and media-based sources emphasize the need to address the quality of internet advice and guide women toward trustworthy sources of information during pregnancy. The association between information sources and PA, GWG, and nutrition requires further research.

But new trends in nutrition dictate fast food to change the approach to their products. Fashion for proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle especially captured the younger generation, which is the main group of consumers of food service. This trend is promoted by information resources, an increasing number of fitness clubs, popularization of sports and beautiful body, as well as major government projects. To improve the competitiveness and attraction of a wide circle of consumers from the entrepreneur necessitated the development of new formulations with the application of the principles of a healthy diet (proper nutrition). Marketing research was conducted by questionnaire survey. After analyzing the taste preferences, the factors influencing the choice of dishes, a commitment to a healthy way of living, the attractiveness of healthy dishes are served guests a network of public catering enterprises individual entrepreneur G. Astrakhan, concluded that the range (menu) of the company must include dishes with the concept of a healthy diet and implement the format of FAST CASUAL (fast casual), the basis of which is fresh products of the highest quality, gentle heat treatment, balanced composition, without flavor enhancers and preservatives, with the speed of service and original supply. Having studied the range of products, having analyzed the concept of a healthy diet in relation to this area of catering, recipes and technical and technological maps of sandwiches were developed taking into account the principles of a healthy and balanced diet. These innovations at the enterprise should increase profitability and competitive position among similar catering enterprises of the city of Astrakhan

A website is a collection of information or a collection of pages commonly accessed via the internet. One of them is the Healthy Living Campaign Website. This research aims to support the community in carrying out a healthy lifestyle by providing information to implement a healthy lifestyle. However, the source of information from the Healthy Living Campaign Website is said to be incomplete. For that, a maximum evaluation is needed. The research used descriptive and qualitative analysis methods. The results obtained indicate that the Healthy Living Campaign Website has advantages and disadvantages in terms of information. This result research is The Healthy Living Together Activity Website has several views in its design. It is due to several factors, such as the views that influence the design of the website. However, in general, the positive impact could be related to the information conveyed through the Healthy Living Campaign Website.

The aim of the study was to present the changes in the number of lodgings in the years 1993–2013, trends related to forms of promotion used by rural tourism service providers, as well as information sources preferred by tourists resting in the countryside in the years 1997–2013. Additionally, the research covers the information and promotion methods used by service providers to meet the needs and expectations of customers. The data comes from empirical studies conducted both by the author and other authors from different academic centres in Poland, secondary data from the expert opinions provided by different institutions, and literature. The analysis shows that the forms of promotion used by the service providers were not fully adapted to the needs and expectations of tourists, both in 2003 and in 2012. Ten years ago, the most important source of information about holiday stay on a farm were the recommendations of relatives and friends, not promotional literature mostly used by service providers. Nowadays, the most important source of information about recreation in the countryside for surveyed tourists was the Internet, while the service providers’ great attention was given to the positive views expressed by satisfied guests resting in objects of rural tourism.

Abstract Background Vaccination is a cost-effective method to protect individuals from diseases and complications that might emerge due to diseases. The healthcare staff in primary healthcare services, as the primary body concerned with vaccines, are notably more likely to encounter families who reject vaccines in childhood. This study aimed to investigate the knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of the healthcare staff in primary healthcare services regarding vaccine rejection in childhood. Methods Conducted between July and August 2019, this study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional design. The population of the study comprised 392 healthcare staff working in primary healthcare services in Malatya City Centre. The sample size was calculated as 193, considering a 95% confidence interval and 80% power. The survey form used in the study included questions concerning sociodemographic characteristics of individuals, their views on vaccination and the views of parents regarding vaccine rejection according to the perspectives of the healthcare staff. Chi-square test was used in statistical analyses, and the significance level was set as p &lt; 0.05. Results In the study group, 25.4% of the healthcare staff stated that they were hesitant about vaccines in childhood. Also, 18.2% of the individuals indicated that they were hesitant about vaccines due to the chemicals in vaccines, 14.4% were hesitant due to the pharmaceutical industry and the relationships based on self-interest and 10.5% were hesitant due to the side effects. The hesitancy level was significantly higher among those whose source of information regarding vaccines in childhood was the internet (37.0%) compared with those whose source was not the internet (21.6%) (p = 0.004). Conclusions One-fourth of the healthcare staff, who are supposed to be the most informed group about vaccines, were hesitant about them. Moreover, the inaccurate information acquired from the internet and social media could be increasing the hesitancy level. Key messages Vaccination hesitancy is high among the healthcare staff in primary healthcare services. The source of information regarding vaccination influences the hesitancy levels of individuals.

Health communication researchers, public health workers, and health professionals must learn more about the health information-gathering behavior of low-income minority men at risk for prostate cancer in order to share information effectively with the population. In collaboration with the Milwaukee Health Department Men’s Health Referral Network, a total of 90 low-income adult men were recruited to complete a survey gauging information sources, seeking behavior, use of technology, as well as prostate cancer awareness and screening behavior. Results indicated participants primarily relied on health professionals, family, and friends for information about general issues of health as well as prostate cancer. The Internet was the least relied on source of information. A hierarchical regression indicated interpersonal information sources such as family or friends to be the only significant predictor enhancing prostate cancer awareness, controlling for other sources of information. Prostate screening behaviors were predicted by reliance on not only medical professionals but also the Internet. Practical implications of the study are discussed.

The now widespread use of the internet as a source of information on job vacancies may have undermined the usefulness of newspaper advertisements - and possibly surveys - as the traditional sources of timely, cost-effective and accurate information on labour market openings. This paper outlines New Zealand's recent job vacancy series. This is followed by selected international illustrations, measurement options, job vacancy reporting and by an assessment of the Department of Labour 's experience with vacancy monitoring. The overall aims of this paper are to raise the awareness, in principle, of job vacancy data as a useful indicator of labour market conditions and the challenges, in practice, of creating appropriate series.
