Background and Study Aim. The current study was carried out to analyze the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on the emotional state and nutritional behavior of university athletes. Material and Methods. This research was carried out during the first wave of COVID-19 in Turkey. A total of 334 (162 female and 172 male) athletes who are undergraduate students in the faculties of sports sciences of universities participated in the study. Their mean age was 21.46 ± 3.7. The Emotional Eating Scale (EES) was used to determine the nutritional behavior of the participants and The Profile of Mood States (POMS) scale was used to determine their emotional state. The Chi-square and Cross-tabulation tests were used for the statistical analysis of categorical variables. Mann Whitney U test was used for the analysis of continuous variables, and Spearman Sequence Correlation test protocols were used for correlation analysis. Results. The results of the statistical analysis revealed that there was a significant increase in the amount of fluid consumption of elite athletes. There was a significant relationship between negative mood and emotional eating sub-assessment (p <0.05). However, it was found that there was no significant difference between total and subscale scores of amateur and elite athletes (p >0.05). Conclusion. As a result of the research, it was seen that elite and amateur athletes did not have a significant difference in emotional eating and mood status, except for the amount of fluid consumption. The increase in negative emotions of university athletes is an important factor that increased their emotional eating behavior.

Abstract Background As opposed to Staphylococcus. aureus bacteremia, there are no guidelines to recommend repeating blood cultures in Gram-negative bacilli bacteremia (GNB). Several studies have questioned the utility of follow-up blood cultures (FUBCs) in GNB, but the impact of this practice on clinical outcomes is not fully understood. Our aim was to study the practice of obtaining FUBCs in GNB at our institution and to assess it’s impact on clinical outcomes. Methods We conducted a retrospective, single-center study of adult patients, ≥ 18 years of age admitted with GNB between January 2017 and December 2018. We aimed to compare clinical outcomes in those with and without FUBCs. Data collected included demographics, comorbidities, presumed source of bacteremia and need for intensive care unit (ICU) admission. Presence of fever, hypotension /shock and white blood cell (WBC) count on the day of FUBC was recorded. The primary objective was to compare 30-day mortality between the two groups. Secondary objectives were to compare differences in 30-day readmission rate, hospital length of stay (LOS) and duration of antibiotic treatment. Mean and standard deviation were used for continuous variables, frequency and proportion were used for categorical variables. P-value &lt; 0.05 was defined as statistically significant. Results 482 patients were included, and of these, 321 (67%) had FUBCs. 96% of FUBCs were negative and 2.8% had persistent bacteremia. There was no significant difference in 30-day mortality between those with and without FUBCs (2.9% and 2.7% respectively), or in 30-day readmission rate (21.4% and 23.4% respectively). In patients with FUBCs compared to those without FUBCs, hospital LOS was longer (7 days vs 5 days, P &lt; 0.001), and mean duration of antibiotic treatment was longer (14 days vs 11 days, P &lt; 0.001). A higher number of patients with FUBCs needed ICU care compared to those without FUBCs (41.4% and 25.5% respectively, P &lt; 0.001) Microbiology of index blood culture in those with and without FUBCs Outcomes in those with and without FUBCs FUBCs characteristics Conclusion Obtaining FUBCs in GNB had no impact on 30-day mortality or 30-day readmission rate. It was associated with longer LOS and antibiotic duration. Our findings suggest that FUBCs in GNB are low yield and may not be recommended in all patients. Abstract Introduction Burn camps provide a unique environment and activities for children that have experienced a burn-injury. Positive outcomes from attending burn camp include increased self-esteem, decreased feelings of isolation and a greater sense of self-confidence. In a 3-year retrospective review of camper evaluations from one of the largest and longest running week-long burn camps in the nation for ages 5–17, we aimed to assess if a child’s gender, age, TBSA or ethnicity affected the impact that burn camp had on a child. Methods A 3-year retrospective review of a Burn Camp’s camper evaluation forms was conducted for campers that attended burn camp between 2017–2019. Camp rosters were reviewed to determine the camper gender, age, TBSA and ethnicity. Camper self-evaluation forms completed at the end of each camp session were reviewed to record camper responses to questions regarding their opinions on the impact camp had on them as well as how camp will impact their lives once they return home. Categorical variables were summarized as frequency and percentage, and continuous variables were described as median and range. To check the relationship between two categorical variables, Chi-square test was used. To compare the continuous variable among groups, Kruskal-Wallis ANOVA was used. Statistical significance was declared based on a p value&lt; 0.5. Results Within 2017–2019, there were 413 camper records. Participants’ demographic characteristics are summarized in Table 1. There were 208 males (50.3%) and 205 females (49.6%). The median age of campers were 11.86, 12.44 and 12.45 for 2017–2019, with the range from 5.16 years to 17.96 years. The median TBSA were 20, 20 and 18 for 2017–2019, with the range from 0.08 to 90. Collectively there were 47.7% Hispanic (n= 197); 24.2% Whites (n=100); 13.1% Black (n= 54); 4.6% Asian (n=19) and 7.7% Other (n=32). There were 395 camper self-evaluation forms submitted. Results of three questions there we were interested in are summarized collectively in Table 2. 57% of campers responded, “Yes, Definitely” to the question “After going to this event, will you feel more comfortable being around your classmates or friends?” 54% responded, “ Yes, Definitely” to the question “Do you feel more confidents in sharing your burn story with others when returning home?” and 51% responded “Yes, Definitely” to “Did you learn anything that will help you when you return home?” Conclusions In analyzing the camper responses, there was no statistically significant difference in responses comparing gender, age, TBSA or ethnicity.

Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals derived from polysomnography recordings play an important role in assessing the physiological and behavioral changes during onset of sleep. This paper suggests a spike rhythmicity based feature for discriminating the wake and sleep state. The polysomnography recordings are segmented into 1 second EEG patterns to ensure stationarity of the signal and four windowing scheme overlaps (0%, 50%, 60% and 75%)of EEG pattern are introduced to study the influence of the pre-processing procedure. The application of spike rhythmicity feature helps to estimate the number of spikes from the given pattern with a threshold of 25%.Then non parametric statistical analysis using Wilcoxon signed rank test is introduced to evaluate the impact of statistical measures such as mean, standard deviation, p-value and box-plot analysis under various conditions .The statistical test shows significant difference between wake and sleep with p<0.005 for the applied feature, thus demonstrating the efficiency of simple thresholding in distinguishing sleep and wake stage .

The main objectives of this study were (a) to elucidate young tennis players’ use of music to manipulate emotional states, and (b) to present a model grounded in present data to illustrate this phenomenon and to stimulate further research. Anecdotal evidence suggests that music listening is used regularly by elite athletes as a preperformance strategy, but only limited empirical evidence corroborates such use. Young tennis players (N = 14) were selected purposively for interview and diary data collection. Results indicated that participants consciously selected music to elicit various emotional states; frequently reported consequences of music listening included improved mood, increased arousal, and visual and auditory imagery. The choice of music tracks and the impact of music listening were mediated by a number of factors, including extramusical associations, inspirational lyrics, music properties, and desired emotional state. Implications for the future investigation of preperformance music are discussed.

e14714 Background: 30-40 % of PC pts present with LAPC. Optimal management remains controversial. Current NCCN guidelines, suggests clinical trial, FOLFIRINOX, G, G based combination therapy, chemo followed by CRT as options in pts with good PS. This single institution retrospective review, evaluated the UC experience of the impact of G+nab-p+/- CRT in LAPC. Methods: From 05/01/09-09/01/11,105 newly registered pts were identifiedusing ICD code 157, 13pts met inclusion criteria: ECOG PS 0-2, histologically proven LAPC, without prior therapy that received G + nab-P, pre or post radiation as part of their treatment. G+nab-p was given as cycles of G=1,000mg/m2 and nab-P=100mg/m2 weekly x3 every 4 weeks with appropriate modifications. CT scans and CA19-9 levels were followed. PFS was estimated from the date of diagnosis to date of progression or death if this occurred first and OS was estimated from date of diagnosis until date of death or loss to follow up. Kaplan Meier survival estimates were obtained with 95% confidence interval (CI). Log rank test was used to compare the PFS according to categorical variables. Results: Median duration of follow up was estimated to be 14.4 months (M) range(R) (5.8-19). CA19-9 data was available for 12 pts, 2 had baseline <1 (R<1-12,861), CA19-9 decrease > 50% from baseline was seen in 9/10. Mean # of G+nab-P cycles administered was 3, R (1-10). 77% received G based CRT with only 1pt receiving this post op. 38% (5/13) underwent resection, 4 post CRT with R0 margins and -ve LN’s and 1 pre CRT with R0 margins but 1/13 LN’s +ve. 11 pts were evaluable for response by RECIST (4PR, 6SD, 1PD). Disease control rate 91%. PFS 92% (CI: 57- 99%) at 6 M and 65% (CI: 31-85%) at 12 M. OS was 85% (CI: 51-96%) at 6M and 77 %(CI: 44-92%) at 12M. At 6M, 100% PFS was observed in resected group, whereas 88% PFS in non-resected group (p=0.12). There was no significant difference in PFS according to gender (p=0.44) and T lesion (p=0.49). Grade III/IV toxicity was mainly hematologic and gastrointestinal. (4/7) 57% received further therapy upon progression. Conclusions: Compared to contemporary G- based trials, the UC experience of G+ nab-P with CRT appears to be associated with improved survival in LAPC and warrants further study.

288 Background: Obesity is a risk factor for developing cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). However, the effect of obesity on survival of CCA is unclear. The primary aim of this study was to analyze the impact of obesity upon overall survival of CCA patients. Secondary aims were to analyze impact of obesity upon other disease characteristics such as tumor site, stage, age, sex, BMI and Ca 19-9. Methods: A total of 411 unique pts diagnosed with CCA at Mayo Clinic Florida between 2000 and 2018 were retrieved from our collective SDMS database. Variables evaluated included:demographics, Body Mass Index (BMI), AJCC stage, tumor location and Ca 19-9.A total of 185 pts had all data available pertaining to these variables. We further restricted the analysis to pts with intrahepatic CCA classified BMI as per CDC criteria normal (18.5-25kg/m2), overweight (25-29.9kg/m2) and obese (≥30 kg/m2), thus leaving a total of 152 pts. Continuous and categorical variables were compared across BMI groups using Chi-squared or Fisher’s exact test. Overall survival rates after diagnosis at 1, 2 and 3 years were estimated using Kaplan-Meier method. Results: Among 152 pts included in the study, 28% were normal weight, 40% were overweight and 32% were obese. The overall survival rate at 1, 2 and 3 years for normal weight pts with all stages combined was 54.1%, 35%, and 30.7%, respectively. The overall survival rate at 1, 2 and 3 years for overweight pts with all stages combined was 59.7 %, 32.6%, and 25.4%, respectively. The overall survival rate at 1, 2 and 3 years for obese pts with all stages combined was 63.9%, 37.6%, and 26.7%, respectively(p = 0.8766). Multivariate analysis demonstrated is no significant difference in overall survival for obese pts compared to normal or overweight pts.(Table to be shown) However it showed, gender and Ca19-9 were statistically significant predictors of overall survival, with males and pts with Ca19-9≥100 doing worse (HR1.65 (CI = 1.05, 2.61, p = 0.031) and HR 2.31 (CI = 1.49, 3.59, p = < 0.01), respectively). Conclusions: BMI did not make a significant impact on the overall survival, though there may be a trend toward worse OS for ptswith higher BMI. A larger, stage focused evaluation is warranted for further exploration of this trend.

AbstractThe article presents results of research on the bulk and shaken density of two commercial fertilizers: Pulgran urea and universal nitrogen fertilizer Salmag. A statistical analysis of the obtained results of average density at the assumed level of significance proved a significant difference between shaken and bulk density investigated with the use of Engelsmann apparatus and shaken density tested with a laboratory shaker for both investigated fertilizers. The obtained test results and uncertainty of the measured values served for calculation of uncertainty of the standard complex bulk and shaken density determined in case of many uncertainties. Further, an analysis of the impact of error sources on the value of complex uncertainty was conducted. The final results of the measurement were presented according to the convention of the Central Office of Measures.

Objectives: Knowledge hiding is inappropriate behavior of employees at the workplace that makes the entire organization suffer a subtle yet significant loss. Lack of sharing makes the journey of learning an arduous process. This, in turn, gives rise to a series of uncivil behaviors, hence resulting in a decrease of functional interdependence (FI). The cascading result toll is a turnover intention (TI), resting only after turnover—an actual separation from the employer. Statistical analysis of the empirical data collected depicts the intensity of influence of FI and TI as a result of the knowledge-hiding behavior.Methods: Three hundred sixty-three executives employed in three public and two private manufacturing organizations in eastern India were the respondents in our study. To analyze the difference in variables of the study, a t-test was carried out. The statistical findings suggest no significant difference among study variables. This specifies that, despite a considerable difference in levels of management, there was no significant difference in perceiving workplace incivility, knowledge-hiding behavior, FI, and TI items of our instruments.Results: Correlation findings show a negative association between workplace incivility and functional interdependence (r = −0.37 when the value of p is &lt;0.01) and a positive association among workplace incivility and turnover intention (r = 0.32 when the value of p is &lt;0.01). The condensed effect of workplace incivility (β = −0.59 when the value of p is &lt;0.001) along with an important presence of knowledge-hiding behavior (β = −0.68 when the value of p is &lt;0.01) when the dependent variable is FI indicates that knowledge-hiding behavior is mediating a partial association among workplace incivility and FI. Similarly, the effect of workplace incivility (β = 0.43 when the value of p is &lt;0.01) is decreased when the impact of knowledge-hiding behavior (β = 0.66 when the value of p is &lt;0.001) was sizeable with TI being the dependent variable.Conclusion: The effect of knowledge hiding is inversely proportional to FI, whereas sharing has a direct relation with TI. An exhaustive data sample and a rigorous statistical analysis may give a clear picture of the amount of impact of TI and FI due to the lack of knowledge sharing and/or knowledge hiding.

Objectives: Injuries are a major part of elite sports, and patient-reported outcomes tools (PROs) are becoming commonplace for the assessment of injury and treatment outcomes. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) is a validated set of assessment tools with increasing popularity. The PROMIS metrics utilize computerized adaptive testing (CAT) to capture health status measurements through individualized assessments, with minimal user burden, and without the loss of precision or content validity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate elite athletes using PROMIS scores and assess the impact of injury on those scores to gain insight into how participation and injury can impact the health of NCAA Division 1 athletes participating in a variety of sports. Methods: Over six months, athletes from 11 sports at a single Division 1 Athletics program were recruited to participate in longitudinal prospective data collection using four PROMIS CAT scales/domains: Pain Interference (PI), Physical Function (PF), Depression, and Ability to Participate in Social Roles and Activities (PSRA). Using REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture), athletes completed an assessment that included the PROMIS tools before participation in their respective sport’s season for the 2018-2019 academic year and following the completion of their season. Athletes suffering a season-ending injury were asked to complete the PROMIS survey within a week following the injury. De-identified data was analyzed using Student’s T-test. PROMIS outcome measures were analyzed using linear mixed model regression. A p-value of < 0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: A total of 592 surveys were collected, composed of 320 pre-season surveys, 241 post-season surveys, and 31 season altering injury surveys. PF, Depression, and PSRA scores were significantly different in athletes than in the general age-matched population (Fig 1). PI scores were similar to the normal population. The distribution of PI and PF scores were significantly different pre and post-season with a difference in means of 1.499 (p=0.030) and -2.019 (p=0.005), respectively. No significant difference was observed in the Depression and PSRA scores at the end of the season (Fig 1). A total of 31 significant injuries were reported. Injuries resulted in a significant change from pre-season to post-season scores amongst all participants (Fig 1). Conclusion: There were significantly worse pain interference and physical function scores post-season compared to preseason, suggesting that athletic participation alone may impact the athlete’s overall function and condition. Season-altering injuries resulted in clinically significant differences in all four domains, PI, PF, Depression, and PSRA, suggesting that injuries greatly affect athletes not only physically, but mentally and socially as well. Statistically significant changes were seen in depression and social metrics after injury compared to the athlete’s pre-season scores. Consideration should be given to index pre-season PROMIS scores for individual athletes to make follow-up scores athlete-specific, meaningful, and actionable. There is a clear need for additional investigation into the impact of specific sports and specific injuries, which would be valuable to trainers, coaches, and clinicians to inform treatment and return to sport protocols.

Abstract Dam construction is one of the most popular solutions for managing water resources. In recent years, changes in patterns of regional seismicity associated with large impoundment dams have raised concerns among environmentalists. In this study, five large dams located in Iran were studied from this perspective. The Gutenberg-Richter, linear regression and T-test were used to examine the seismic changes in the radius of 100 km of each of the dams during a twenty-five-year period before and after the construction of the dams. The results revealed that the seismicity level and relative density of large and small earthquakes in three of these dams have increased after dam construction. A significant difference between the magnitude of earthquakes, as well as the number of earthquakes before and after the construction of dams in the region, was recognized. However, the results of the T-test statistical analysis indicated that the mean depth of the earthquakes and their distance from the dams before and after construction have not changed significantly. Overall, these results indicated that the construction of large impoundment dams has been associated with some changes in patterns of regional seismicity. The findings would guide researchers to further investigate the type of impacts that dam construction may have on seismicity patterns.
