Indian Tie and Dye is the oldest craft tradition initiated before five hundred years ago and is even practiced today. This craft is flourishing with Gujarat and Rajasthan as chief production centers. The paper focuses present status and constraints faced by tie and dye craftsmen of Mewar region of Rajasthan. Study sample consist of craftsmen, who prepare the traditional headgear through tie and dye. Forty five (45) craftsmen from Udaipur, Chittorgarh and Bhilwara city of Mewar Region of Rajasthan were selected by snow-ball sampling method. Structured interview schedule was developed and administered for collecting the data. Study result indicates present scenario of tie and dye craft, production, pattern, design, motifs, finishing, material needed and constraints faced by craftsmen by calculating frequency and percentage.

Retailing is a major business in India, organized retailers are entering in to Indian markets to reach mass sales and maximize profit , in this stage retailers should aware of the factor that influencing customer choice of store and customer behaviour, loyalty of the customer is a tool to reach profitability and with hold in market, and objective of this study is to know the factor which influences customer choice of store selection and their behaviour in organized retail out lets in Madurai, 175 samples were selected using simple random sampling method, data collected with the structured interview schedule, SPSS package has been used for statistical analysis.

“Sports is an institutionalized comparative activity that involves various physical extensions or the use of relatively complex physical skills by individuals whose participation is motivated by combination of intrinsic and extrinsic factors.” Present situation of sports in Ilam district entitled research was conducted in Ilam, where forty-seven (47) sports related persons were selected as respondents for the study. The main objectives of the study were to find out the developmental trend, present status and prospect of sports in Ilam district. For this study convenient cum purposive sampling method was used. Different sets of interview schedule was developed including overall issues of the developmental trend present status of sports in Ilam district.

The present study on extent of adoption of chilli growers was conducted in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh covering one block. A total of 120 respondents were selected by simple random sampling method from six randomly selected villages. Pre-tested well structured interview schedule was used for collecting the relevant information’s. The study inferred that majority of the respondents were of middle aged, belonged to medium size of family, other backward class, illiterate, having low annual income between Rs. 35,001 to 60,000,no membership in any organization indicating poor social participation and farming (chilli cultivation) as the main occupation. Most of the respondents were having medium level of knowledge have medium level of adoption. It was found that villagers do not get other vegetable for their commercial income, through chilli they at least filling this gap of income, although they are producing chilli at low level. Majority of the respondents reported that reasons of adoption of this crop due to chilli needs, less hard work with high benefits and income and it is good for soil also.

The present study on “Entrepreneurial behaviour of turmeric growers” was conducted in Washim district of Maharashtra state with the objective to study the entrepreneurial behaviour of the turmeric growers. The exploratory research design of social research was used. In all, 120 respondents were selected by random sampling method. The data were collected by personally interviewing the respondents with the help of structured interview schedule. After analysis it was observed that majority of respondents (40.00%) possess medium entrepreneurial behaviour. The results of the co-relation co-efficient between entrepreneurial behaviour of respondents and their profile results which clearly indicates that selected characteristics of turmeric growers i.e. Land holding, annual income, and knowledge had positive and significant relationship at 0.01 level of probability with entrepreneurial behaviour whereas, area under turmeric crop, extension contact and scientific orientation had positive significant relationship at 0.05, percent level of probability with entrepreneurial behaviour of turmeric growers. While age, farming experience, source of irrigation had negative and non-significant relationship with entrepreneurial behaviour.

The present study was carried out in Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu, India by using random sampling method with 120 respondents and data collected by well structured interview schedule. There are 8 blocks of Dindigul district (Tamil Nadu, India) out of which 4 blocks were selected on the basis of maximum area (1568 ha) and production (18002 MT). Objective of this research is to study the Marketing behaviour of tomato growers. Consumers' marketing behaviour when looking for, buying, selling, using, evaluating, and discarding products and services that they believe will meet their requirements. According to the findings, the majority of respondents (64.16 per cent) had a medium level of overall marketing behaviour, followed by 23.34 per cent of them having high and only 12.5 percent of them having low level of marketing behaviour.

Child prostitution is defined as a youngster is given cash or products by the culprit party previously or later than sexual relation, in any age children are liable to prostitution. The powerless and frequently misled youngster, there might be few or no elective alternatives. Unfortunately, children may regularly persuade themselves that they have settled on a free decision, instead of recognizing that their own lives are not in their control. Rising destitution is driving a developing figure of family unit to offer kids, along with girl child specifically get involved in sex work. The research study is basically qualitative. Recent situation analyses and reports shows acceleration in different security issues of children for example camel race, and the sexual commercial exploitation of children and juvenile justice. These incorporate physical and mental handicap children, from ethnic minorities and minimized populaces, children live and chipping away at the road, in strife with the law, kid outcasts, isolated kids without their families, kids in spots of contention and catastrophic events, marginalized sexual minority, kids living in ghettos and the offspring of sex workers. Children who have a place with a few of these gatherings are much more helpless. The sampling method is simple random because to find such children. A semi structured interview schedule was prepared before interviews.

Livelihood diversification is the process by which households construct a diverse portfolio of activities and social support capabilities for survival and in order to improve their standard of living. Farmers were shifting their occupation from one to another because of several reasons. Hence, this study was undertaken with the objective to elucidate the factors responsible for the occupational change of agrarians. The study was conducted in the western zone of Tamil Nadu, with a sample size of 120. The samples were drawn by using purposive sampling method. The factors were collected from relevant literature, farmers, extension personnel and scientists and finally, the collected items were sent for the judge’s opinion. Based on the judges rating the valid items were selected and used for interview schedule construction. The information was gathered by using a pretested well-structured interview schedule. The respondents asked for responding to each and every factor based on the nature of influence. The calculated index score was ranked to identify the higher influencing factors for livelihood diversification of agrarians. Notable findings of the study were, production factors contributed vastly for agrarian’s livelihood change among all other categories either pushing or pulling the respondents.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the impact of working environment on job satisfaction of port trusts employees. A well structured interview schedule was used to collect the primary data and proportionate random sampling method was used to select the respondents. The study found that there is a significant difference between the satisfaction of employees of V.O.C. and Chennai port trusts with regard to working environment. Introduction: Cervical cancer is one of the most prevalent cancer affecting women globally. It is the fourth most common cancer in women and the seventh overall. Cervical cancer can be cured and prevented by regular pelviccheck-up, screening test and vaccination against human papilloma virus. The objective of this study was to find out awareness regarding cervical cancer among women aged 18-49 years residing in Bharatpur MetropolitanCity-5, Chitwan. Methods: A community based descriptive cross-sectional research design was used, 186 women were selected using simple random sampling method. Structured interview schedule was used to collect the data within 2weeks. The collected data was entered in Epi data 3.1 and exported into IBM SPSS version 20. Data was analysed in terms of descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: The study revealed that 72.6% of the women were >30 years and 93% of women were literate, among them 35.2% had completed secondary level of education. It was found that only 28.0% of women had good level of awareness and 43.5% of them had poor level of awareness regarding cervical cancer. There was statistically significant relationship between level of awareness with age (p=0.029), ethnicity (p=0.013), marital status (p=0.018) and heard about organism that causes cervical cancer (p=<0.001). Conclusions: Based on the findings of the study, it is concluded that, almost half of the women have poor level of awareness regarding cervical cancer. Hence, there is need for community awareness program on cervical cancer, its screening and preventive measures through the medium of health personnel, friends and mass media.

Background: An effective ambulance is a vital requirement for providing an emergency medical service. Well-equipped ambulances with trained paramedics can save many lives during the golden hours of trauma care. The objective was to document the availability and utilization of basic life support equipment in the ambulances and to assess knowledge on first aid among the drivers.Methods: Descriptive design was used. Total of 109 ambulances linked to B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences were enrolled using purposive sampling method. Self- constructed observation checklist and semi structured interview schedule was used for data collection. Results: More than half of the respondents had less than five years of experience and were not trained in first aid. About two-third of the respondents had adequate knowledge on first aid. About 90% of the ambulance had oxygen cylinder and adult oxygen mask which was ‘usually’ used equipment. More than half of ambulance had equipment less than 23% as compared to that of national guidelines. There was significant association of knowledge with the experience (p = 0.004) and training (p = 0.001). Availability of equipment was associated with training received (p = 0.007), organization (p= 0.032)and district (p = 0.023) in which the ambulance is registered.Conclusions: The study concludes that maximum ambulance linked to BPKIHS, Nepal did not have even one fourth of the equipment for basic life support. Equipment usually used was oxygen cylinder and oxygen mask. Majority of driver had adequate knowledge on first aid and it was associated with training and experience.
