The consolidation of Unified Health System (“SUS”) demands the democratization of relationships; however, in its 30 years, the separation between management and health care has been remarkable. Thus, the objective was to know how scientific articles address health management in SUS. An integrative literature review was carried out in the Scielo and PePSIC databases with the descriptors: “health management”; “co-management”; and “participatory management”, with 16 articles remaining. Thematic content analysis followed, resulting in the categories: “conceptions about health management in SUS”; “difficulties for health management”; “potentialities of health management”; and “proposals for health management”. We concluded that is necessary to bring social actors closer together and consider aspects such as affectivity and subjectivity in the management process, allowing workers, managers and users - all SUS operators - to recognize themselves in health production.

Multiprofessional Health Residency Programs were created to further align health training with the needs of the population and, through an emphasis on teamwork, have been contributing to the consolidation of the Brazilian Unified Health System. The present study sought to understand the perceptions of a group of multiprofessional residents in Hospital Care about interdisciplinarity and interprofessionality within the scope of teamwork. This is a qualitative study that had the participation of 29 multiprofessional residents in the ‘Hospital Care’ area of concentration, all female (six psychologists, six social workers, six nurses, six physiotherapists and five nutritionists). Data were collected by means of a semi-structured interview script. The corpus was subjected to thematic content analysis. Most of the participants: (1) reported that their first contact with the notion of interdisciplinarity occurred when they were in college, which led to them assimilating it as a synonym for joint action, and (2) claimed to have no knowledge of the notion of interprofessionality, but valued the horizontalization of relations between health professionals. Additionally, important conditions concerning both interdisciplinarity and interprofessionality were not emphasized by the participants. Further studies on the subject are needed, due to its importance for public health.

This article presents results of a research carried out with the objective of analyzing the participation of Social Control in the sphere of Public Health Policy of a small municipality, located in the Extreme West of Santa Catarina. This is a qualitative study, carried out with the participation of twelve directors, six representatives of non-governmental entities and six of governmental entities. Data were collected between August and December 2019, through interviews with open and closed questions. The research was approved by the Ethics and Research Committee. All requirements contained in the Resolution of the National Health Council - CNS 466/2012 were observed and respected. The limits for the participation of members in the Council, time and lack of knowledge in the health area were found as limits, and with regard to the possibilities, a broader view of the health services offered, and within this, the prioritization of actions and actions. It is observed that Social Control is very important and necessarily needs to be maintained and strengthened. The Federal Constitution of 1988 consolidated and predicted in its devices the participation of citizens in the formulation and implementation of Social Control, public health policies. It is hoped that the result of the research can boost proposals that are configured as responses to the strengthening of participation in Social Control, recognizing the Health Councils are deliberative and permanent collegiate organs of the SUS, existing in each sphere of government and members of the basic structure of the health system.
