Abstract In this study, we conducted peer instruction (PI) activities to promote student participation in the learning process and test the hypothesis that PI improves student achievement. Two ninth-grade classes were randomly assigned as treatment and control groups. Pre-test and post-test data were obtained for measuring mathematics achievement in trigonometry. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance procedures with an alpha significance level of 0.05. Results indicated no significant effects of peer instruction on achievement. This study implies that more robust studies are needed to reveal the real effect of PI.

Project-based learning – one of the most effective methods of teaching students in our country and around the world. Today’s society needs self-reliant, well-prepared high school graduates who can work independently. This method directs the students to learn through planning and independent performance of more complex tasks. Today, it is important to prepare children for a big life, encouraging them to see the fruits of their labor. According to Kyle Chard, with the successful implementation of project-based learning, students become more motivated and actively involved in life. The study was aimed to assess the project – based learning (PBL) activities’ effects on student achievement. Two ninth-grade classes were randomly selected for experimental and control groups. Pre-test and post-test data were collected for measure of mathematics achievement. Data was analyzed using t-test. The results indicated a significant impact of peer instruction on achievement and an improvement in mathematic.

This study examined the effect of pre-knowledge behavioral objectives in ninth grade student's achievement and retention of social education material. This study tried to answer the question: is there a significant effect for the pre-knowledge behavioral objectives in ninth grade student's achievement and retention of social education material? The sample of the study was (54) students of ninth grade, were divided into two groups, experimental and control. The experimental group was informed of the behavioral objectives, but the control group was not informed of these objectives, the same method was followed in teaching both groups. In this study, the researcher has used behavioral objectives, and achievement test consisting of 26 items covered the list of behavioral objectives prepared by researcher himself for the purpose of study. The T-test analysis of variance was used to test the influence of teaching strategy on achievement and retention of social education material. The result of the first post-test has shown that there are no significant differences at (α = 0.05) in the ninth grade students achievement. the result of the second post-test has shown that there are no significant differences at (α = 0.05) in the in ninth grade in retention of social education material. According to the result of this study, recommendation is given in conclusion of this study, showing they no importance of using behavioral objectives as strategy of teaching in the learning process.

Objective - In the study, a teaching model was devised named as "concept formation teaching model" and its effect on grade IX students' academic achievement was investigated over lecture method. Methodology/Technique - Experimental group (143 students) and control group (147 students) were chosen for experiment from three Government Girls and Boys High Schools of Rawalpindi. Pretest, posttest Non-equivalent-Groups Design was selected for the study. Pre and post-test were given to experimental and control groups at the start and end of the study. Lessons plans were based on the format of direct instruction. Experimental and control groups were compared by applying t-test and analysis of covariance. Findings – The results showed that concept formation teaching model was more effective for clarification and strengthening of concepts than lecture method. Novelty - The study proves that this model is better than lecture method for strengthening Chemistry concepts. Background and Aim: The purpose of the present study was effectiveness of Glasser reality therapy on statetraitanxiety reduction women in the third trimester of pregnancy.Materials and Methods: The research population included all pregnant women that in the last three months ofpregnancy and in the year 93-92 were referred to Gonbad Beski hospital. In this study, 40 pregnant womenselected by available sampling method and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups of 20 patientseach were replaced. Instruments used in the study were: Spielberger Anxiety Inventory. To analyze the dataobtained from multivariate analysis of covariance was used.Results: Results showed that between state anxiety in the experimental and control groups, there weresignificant differences. Also results showed that between trait anxiety in the experimental and control groups,there were significant differences.Conclusion: The results of this study are consistent with other research. Based on these findings, we can sayReality therapy in post test reduce state anxiety scores in women. . Based on these findings, we can say Realitytherapy in post test reduces trait anxiety scores in women.Keywords: Reality Therapy, state-trait anxiety, third trimester of pregnancy.

Abstract Background This study was aimed at demonstrating the impact of a health education intervention on reducing the incidence of influenza-like illnesses symptoms among Malaysian's Hajj pilgrims. MethodsThis study utilizes a quasi-experimental study in the evaluation of the impact of the intervention. Participants were recruited during Hajj orientation courses organized by private Hajj companies. Participants from two separate companies were recruited into an intervention group and control group respectively. The intervention group received a Health Belief Model (HBM) based smartphone health education intervention application while the control group received a normal Hajj guide intervention smartphone application before departure to Hajj. Data on the incidence of influenza-like illnesses (ILI) were collected from participants from two Hajj companies before and after returning from Hajj. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS with descriptive analysis, and analytical tests were conducted at 5% significance level. ResultsA total of 102 pilgrims completed the study in both intervention and control groups. The incidence of the symptoms of influenza-like illnesses (ILI) was statistically significant between the intervention and control groups (p = 0.049). The change in the level of knowledge and attitude among the intervention was statistically significant (p= 0.001, p = 0.029). ConclusionIn conclusion, the health education intervention has an impact on reducing the incidence of symptoms among Hajj pilgrims.

Background: In the future, aging becomes one of the problems of society and the problems of the country's health care system and brings many costs in the health care sector. Purpose: This study examines the effect of imagery on performance and cognitive ability in the elderly. The research method is quasi-experimental with a pretest-posttest design. 40 older adults were selected and divided into experimental and control groups. The subjects in the experimental group performed imagery for four weeks following the pretest. Methods: Data were analyzed using the analysis of covariance. Results: Findings showed that imagery improves the performance and cognitive ability in the elderly. Conclusion: In general, imagery may improve performance and cognitive abilities in the elderly. Purpose of this study is to examine the impact of verbal feedbacks given to the player during trainings on the basketball dribbling. The study is performed with total 40 students in two groups having similarities in terms of various factors and having education in Toros University in 2016-2017 academic year. The average age of the research group is (20.87 ± 1.61) for the test group and (20.60 ± 1.09) for the control group. Dribbling Evaluation Form, whose validity and reliability study was conducted by Çamur3 was used as data collection tool. In the data analysis, Shapiro-Wilk test was used to determine whether the scores show normal distribution or not. The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test was used to determine the difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the groups. In the study, 0.05 was used in statistical processes as the level of significance. According to the research findings, there was a significant difference between the test group's pre-test and post-test dribbling values (p <0.05). The Mann-Whitney U Test was used to determine the differences between test and control groups. According to the research findings, a significant difference was found between the test and control groups' post-test dribbling values (p <0.05). As a result, it was observed that verbal feedback during eight weeks of training had a positive effect on dribbling. Keywords: Dribbling, Skill Learning, Basketball, Feedback, Verbal Feedback

<p>This study aimed to investigate the effect of Pilates on resiliency and psych-asthenia of the housewives in Tehran. The most common problems of the housewives included decreased resilience and uniform life that led to increased psych-asthenia. Using the knowledge of Contrology, measuring the effect of Pilates on resiliency and psych-asthenia of the housewives was considered. Quasi-experimental research design included the control groups (pre-test, post-test). The statistical population consisted of 40 housewives (20 in Pilates group and 20 in control group) that were selected using the available sampling by referring to a sports club in District 2, Tehran. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and multivariate analysis of covariance, and the adjusted comparison was conducted at the significance level of 5%.The results showed that the adjusted mean of the scores of resiliency and psych-asthenia for the intervention group are significantly different (p&gt;5.0) and there is a significant difference between the mean scores of resiliency and psych-asthenia of the treatment and control groups. Pilates exercises increase resiliency and decrease psych-asthenia of the housewives. Thus, it is recommended that psychologists and psychiatrists consider Pilates as a supplementary treatment in their prescriptions.</p>

Background and Aim: Unresolved and dysfunctional marital conflicts are always accompanied by frustration and daily tensions, leading to ignoring the needs of the couples and declining the quality of their marital relationships. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of satisfactory marriage intervention on marital conflicts and marital frustration. Materials and Methods: The present research method was semi-experimental with pre-test, post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of this study consisted of all married men and women with a spouse of 25 years and older in Zanjan, of which 30 people were selected by available sampling method and randomly divided into two experimental and control groups. The data were obtained through Sanaei and Barati Marital Conflict Questionnaire and Kayser’s Marital Frustration Questionnaire and analyzed with descriptive statistics methods such as mean, standard deviation, and inferential statistics by multivariate analysis of covariance and Spss.22 Software. The Shapiro-Wilkes test was used to test the normality of the covariance analysis test, and the Loon test was used to investigate the homogeneity of the variances. Also, the significance level of the tests was considered to be 0.05. Results: The results indicated that satisfactory marriage intervention was effective in marital conflicts and marital frustration (p <0.001). Conclusion: It can be concluded that satisfactory marriage intervention was effective on marital conflicts and marital frustration. Therefore, satisfactory marriage education leads to reducing marital conflicts and marital frustration, which is used to improve the quality of life of couples.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of narrative therapy on sexual function and couple burnout in women with skin cancer. Method: The research method was quasi-experimental with a pre-test–post-test design with a control group. Among married women with skin cancer in Mashhad (Iran), 30 available individuals were selected and randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. Narrative therapy was performed in a group of 15 people in nine sessions (experimental group). The Female Sexual Function Index and Couple Burnout Measure were used to collect pre-test and post-test data. Analysis of covariance was used to analyze the data. Results: Group narrative therapy significantly improved reported sexual function (F = 40.90; p = .001) and decreased couple burnout (F = 59.03; p = .001) in women with skin cancer. Conclusions: Narrative therapy seems to effectively improve sexual function and couple burnout in women with skin cancer.
