Abstract Objective: To identify health promotion actions carried out by professionals in the Family Health Strategy in relation to elderly people. Method: An exploratory study with a qualitative approach was performed in Juazeiro do Norte, Ceará, Brazil, with 19 professionals. A recorded, fully transcribed semi-structured interview was used after authorization by the ethics committee under number 501 675. The discussions were analyzed using Content Analysis, organized into thematic categories. Results: Actions of a collective nature were identified, such as activities in groups, meetings, conversation circles, lectures and guidance in the waiting room. Other directed actions were used, such as guidelines during individual consultations and referral to specialized services. Conclusion: The need for the discussion of health promotion and actions in relation to old age was highlighted, with debate and reflection on this theme required locally, along with the need to build a network of support for the health of the elderly in a shared manner among professionals, managers and the community.

ABSTRACTObjective: to draw the profile of the hypertensive elderly registered/accompanied in the field of basic health attention. Method: cross sectional study of descriptive characteristic, in which users who were 60 years old or more and who were in the Family Health Strategy program between 2000 and 2009 were analyzed through the HIPERDIA system of João Pessoa-PB city. Data referring to number of hypertensive patients registered in that period and association of hypertension with smoking, sedentary habits and overweigh, classified by sex and age group,  were used. Results: files of 7,156 hypertensive elderly registered/accompanied by HIPERDIA by sex and age group were found, with prevalence of arterial hypertension of 8 % in the period of study. Among these users, 68,4% are female and the age group from 60 to 64 presented the greatest number of hypertensive when both sexes are added (23.6%).  In relation to the presence of associated factors, 49% presented overweigh, 51% had sedentary habits and 15.9% smoked. Conclusion: the hypertensive elderly of João Pessoa showed characteristics which are similar to the other regions of the country. It is necessary to promote and implement public policies towards this population with emphasis on prevention and valorization of the services of Basic Attention. Resultados: foram encontrados registros de 7156 idosos hipertensos cadastrados/ acompanhados pelo HIPERDIA por sexo e faixa etária, com prevalência de hipertensão arterial de 8% no período estudado. Destes usuários, 68,4% são do sexo feminino e a faixa etária de 60 a 64 anos apresentou o maior número de hipertensos somado ambos os sexos (23,6%). Quanto à presença de fatores associados, 49% apresentaram sobrepeso, 51% eram sedentários e 15,9% tabagistas. Conclusão: os hipertensos mostraram características semelhantes às demais regiões do país. Faz-se necessário incentivar e implementar políticas públicas voltadas a essa população, enfatizando a prevenção e valorizando os serviços de Atenção Básica. Fueron utilizados los datos ya procesados: número de hipertensos registrados en el periodo y asociación de la hipertensión con tabaquismo, sedentarismo y obesidad estratificados por sexo y faja etaria. Resultados: fueron encontrados registros de 7156 ancianos hipertensos registrados/acompañados por el HIPERDIA por sexo y faja etaria, con prevalencia de hipertensión arterial de 8% en el periodo estudiado. De estos usuarios el 68,4% son del sexo femenino y los de la faja etaria entre 60 y 64 años presentaron un número mayor de hipertensos de ambos sexos (23,6%). En relación a la presencia de factores asociados el 49% presentaron obesidad, el 51% eran sedentarios y el 15,9% fumadores. Conclusión: los hipertensos mostraron características semejantes a las demás regiones del país. Se hace necesario incentivar e implementar políticas públicas orientadas a dicha población, enfatizando la prevención y dando más valor a los servicios de Atención Básica. Background: Elderly mental health is an important topic of discussion to Brazilian public health because it involves factors related to the training of health professionals focused on these demands in the Family Health Strategy. Objectives: To make a similarity analysis about the training of the Family Health Strategy professionals for psychosocial care for the elderly. Methodology: Qualitative research carried out with 31 professionals from the Family Health Strategy in the city of Picos, Piauí, Brazil. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview script. The interviews were performed in a reserved room and recorded with the aid of an MP4 player. The data were processed by the IRAMUTEQ software and analyzed through similarity analysis that is based on graph theory. Results: The study participants were 13 doctors and 18 nurses, 27 (87.09%) were female. The training time of these professionals was comprised between 2 to 32 years of training and the duration of the Health Strategy from 1 year to 16 years. According to the co-occurrence tree, the data indicate that: the word "elderly" is at the heart of the ramifications and expresses how family and professionals can contribute to treatment; another demonstrated representation is that it is difficult for professionals to carry out their activities with the elderly due to lack of training in the specific area of ​​mental health. Conclusion: the family plays a fundamental role in the elderly care with psychosocial needs and the professionals of the Family Health Strategy present difficulties to carry out comprehensive care due to deficiencies in their training. The male participation in the process of breastfeeding needs to be encouraged as it can contribute significantly to the prevention of early weaning. In this sense, this research aimed to identify a parent's knowledge about breastfeeding. This is an exploratory and descriptive study with a qualitative approach, performed in the Family Health Strategy in Bom Jesus, Rio Grande do Norte State, Brazil. Data were collected through semi-structured interview with the guiding question: what is your understanding of breastfeeding? The population was 15 men with aged over 18 years old and preserved mental faculties, who lived with his wife and the child under one year of age and performed development and growth consultations in the Family Health Strategy. The interviews were conducted in place previously defined parent. The information was organized as content analysis Bardin, giving rise to two categories and analyzed according to the symbolic interacionism. It was observed that parents of participating antenatal clinics have more knowledge about it and recognize the benefits of breastfeeding in this way can encourage their wives in order to exclusive breastfeeding.

Objective: The study aimed to identify the occupational hazards to which workers are exposed in nursing working in immunization room of the family health strategy of the municipality of Conde-Paraíba. Methods: this was an exploratory study, descriptive and qualitative. The survey was conducted in basic health units of the municipality of Conde-PB, using a semi-structured interview script, as a tool for data collection, with objective and subjective questions that addressed the topic. Have been followed all ethical and legal precepts of research involving humans. Results and discussion: Nursing workers working in immunization of the said rooms municipality do not have enough knowledge about the occupational hazards to which they are exposed in their work environment, use the individual protection equipment making them vulnerable to a variety of risk situations and contributing to the increase in the number of occupational accidents. Conclusion: The present research demonstrated through the lines of the participants that they are exposed to various occupational hazards to act in vaccine, and that the recognition of these risks is necessary to the development of action for prevention, elimination or control of them. Permanent education is the primary tool for nursing workers acquire knowledge about occupational accidents, their causes and ways to avoid them, thus minimizing the risks that may exist in the workplace. ABSTRACT Objective: This article aims to identify the relational technologies used by Family Health Strategy nurses in their daily work when treating patients. Method: Descriptive and cross-sectional study with qualitative approach; conducted between May and July 2015, in three Basic Health Units of the Southern Region of the Municipality of São Paulo, with 19 nurses of the Family Health Strategy. Data were collected through a semi-structured interview, and the speeches were fully transcribed and analyzed according to the technique of content analysis. Results: From the speeches of the participants, three categories emerged, showing the unawareness of the concept, but the valorization of its use; which are the relational technologies used by the participating nurses (communication, listening, empathy and welcoming reception), as well as the report of barriers to the use of relational technologies. Final consideration: Although the nurses value the use of relational technologies, the participants denoted unawareness of the nomenclature and its associated concepts, suggesting superficiality in the understanding and use of these instruments in the context of care in the Family Health Strategy.

OBJECTIVE: to construct a theoretical matrix based on the meanings of the interactions and actions experienced by the professionals regarding the nursing care practices and the health of women in situations of conjugal violence in the ambit of the Family Health Strategy. METHODS: research based in Grounded Theory. Following approval by the Research Ethics Committee, 52 professionals were interviewed in Santa Catarina, Brazil. The analysis was based on open, axial and selective codifications. RESULTS: the theoretical model was delimited based on the phenomenon "Recognizing conjugal violence as a public health problem, and the need for management of the care for the woman", which reflects the experience of the professionals in relation to care for the woman, as well as the meanings attributed to this care. CONCLUSIONS: the phenomenon allows one to understand the movement of action and interaction regarding the care for the woman in a situation of conjugal violence.

Objective: To describe an Assistive Technology in the form of educational video on Health Promotion addressed to elderly people assisted by the Family Health Strategy. Methodology: A descriptive qualitative approach, performed by the method of content analysis of categorical type.The research was conducted at the Federal University of Piauí, July-August 2013. Results: Categories found: (1) Physical exercise, (2) Healthy food. Regarding the scientific content transmitted, the video is according to the current literature. About the suitability to the target audience and language, the Assistive Technology has features that bring the story and characters of the public, which facilitates the learning process, and others that may limit this process. Conclusion: The Assistive Technology is configured as an instrument of health education that can be used in the transmission of knowledge for elderly at the region that has been produced and it is expected that future work will stimulate the initiative. Objective: To understand how the professionals of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) develop their actions with people who need mental health care. Methods and results: This is an observational and descriptive research, which predominantly had a qualitative approach. The participants of this research were the professionals of the Reference Teams of the Family Health Strategy of a municipality in the interior of Ceará, in this case, doctors, nurses and dental surgeons. The sample was of twenty participants, which was given by theoretical saturation about the object of study. For the data collection, two techniques were used: semi-structured interview and simple observation. This project was submitted and approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the State University of Ceará (CAAE: 44321015.4.0000.55.34 - Report No.: 1,082,101 / 2015). The data were organized through the technique of the Discourse of the Collective Subject. The results showed that health professionals are not yet ready to promote mental health care in primary care, since they still conceive mental health care from the asylum paradigm and, therefore, act based on the prevalence of diagnosis Psychiatric care, individual care, prescription drugs and renewal of prescriptions. Conclusion: In this regard, we emphasize the need to invest in continuing education for professionals in order to train them for the mental health act. ABSTRACTObjective: to identify in scientific publications the health education actions concerned with the elderly population in the Family Health Strategy (FHS). Method: this is an integrative review with search in the scientific literature published from 2000 to 2010 in the databases of the website Virtual Health Library (VHL): LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature), MEDLINE (National Library of Medicine, United States), IBECS (Índice Bibliografico Espanol en Ciencias de la Salud), and SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), besides the specialized area of BIREME – BDENF (Nursing Database), according to the following stages: establishment of the guiding question (What is the importance of the health education actions for the elderly population in the Family Health Strategy?) and aims of the review; establishment of inclusion and exclusion criteria for papers (sample selection); definition of the information to be extracted from the papers selected; analysis of results; presentation and discussion of results; and, finally, presentation of the review. Inclusion criteria: full text available online  and papers concerning health education activities, involving the elderly public, developed in the FHS. For this study, the concept of elderly from the World Health Organization (WHO) was adopted: person aged 60 years or over in developing countries. Results: the final sample consisted of  nine papers, which presented variety of themes, ranging from studies that applied and evaluated the educative activities to those which pointed them proposals. Conclusion: it was found an incipience in papers portraying the performance of educative practices aimed at the elderly population and the predominance of the biomedical paradigm in the health education activities.
