Abstract: The objective of this work was to determine the correlation of the physical attributes of corn and the mycotoxins present in its grains with the severity of tongue lesions in broiler breeder roosters. The occurrence of the aflatoxin, vomitoxin, zearalenone, T-2 toxin, and fumonisin mycotoxins was detected in the corn grains used in the feed formulation for breeder chickens. The percentages of moisture and broken grains were positively correlated (Pearson’s correlation) with the presence of aflatoxin. Milder lesions (grade 1) are positively correlated with aflatoxin and negatively correlated with fumonisin, and the most severe lesions (grade 3) are positively correlated with vomitoxin, fumonisin, and T-2 toxin.

Background and Objective: General health is not simply determined by whether or not an individual is sick, but is dependent on physical, mental and social factors too. One such important factor is an individual’s religious inclination. The present study aims to explore the correlation between religious beliefs and quality of life in the students at Jahrom University of Medical Sciences.

Method: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study conducted in 2014. The sample consisted of 273 students who were randomly selected. Data were collected using Religious Attitude Questionnaire and a quality of life scale. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and SPSS v. 23.

Result: The students’ average age was 21.36±2.15. The means of their quality of life scores and religious attitude scores were 87.23 and 146.31 respectively. The results of Pearson’s correlation test showed that there was a significant relationship between quality of life and its subscales on one hand and religious attitude and its indexes on the other; in other words, the students’ mental well-being was found to correlate with their religious beliefs.

Conclusion: Since religious beliefs affect college students’ mental well-being and quality of life, it is suggested that through organized education, students’ religious awareness be raised.

Introduction. Today the relevance of sarcopenia is increasing in various types of malignant neoplasms. This syndrome is most common in patients with advanced forms of cancer and can adversely affect survival, treatment outcomes, and functional status. The prevalence of sarcopenia in patients with lung cancer is higher than in other types of malignant tumors. To understand the relationship between sarcopenia and quality of life is especially important for patients with advanced cancer. Aim. To assess the relationship between skeletal muscle index (SMI) and quality of life in sarcopenia in patients with advanced lung cancer. Materials and methods. A prospective analysis was carried out of 28 patients with advanced lung cancer who have applied to the “ONCOLIFE” Medical Center since the beginning of 2021. All patients had sarcopenia on CT scan. Skeletal muscle cross-sectional area analyzed using software ImageJ (National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA). To determine the quality of life in sarcopenia a questionnaire SarQoL was used. Pearson's correlation analysis was used to assess the correlation between quality of life and SMI. Results. Pearson's correlation analysis showed a statistically significant positive correlation between quality of life and SMI (r = 0,451, р = 0,016, N=28). Body mass index (BMI) positively correlated with quality of life (r = 0,398, р = 0,036, N=28), and age negatively correlated with SMI (r = -0,391, р = 0,040, N=28). There was no statistically significant correlation between indicators such as BMI and SMI, as well as age and quality of life. Conclusions. Quality of life in sarcopenia statistically significantly correlates with SMI in patients with metastatic lung cancer. Early diagnosis of sarcopenia is essential for timely prescription of treatment aimed at maintaining and better muscle mass, which can improve cancer patients quality of life.

Background and aims: The purpose of this study was to revalidate the Persian version of the WHO quality of life (WHOQOL-BREF) instrument to determine the quality of life status in the Shahrekord Cohort Study (SCS) in the southwest of Iran. This study was designed to serve as one of the sources of the Prospective Epidemiological Research Studies in Iran. Materials and Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 2000 people were randomly selected from the study population of the SCS. The reliability and internal consistency of the WHOQOL-BREF were measured using Cronbach alpha coefficient and Pearson’s correlation. construct validity and factors measured using Pearson’s correlation matrices with each of its domains. To measure the face, content, and construct validities, the views of the panel of experts and exploratory factor analysis were used. In addition, the validity of the questionnaire was evaluated using linear regression. Results: All domains of the questionnaire met the minimum reliability standards (Cronbach alpha and intra-class correlation >0.7), except for social relationships. The results of comparison analysis indicated that the questionnaire discriminated well between subgroups of the study samples differing in their health status. Regarding validity, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value was 0.94 and the value of Bartlett’s test was 1699.01 (P≤0.001). Conclusion: The findings suggested that WHOQOL-BREF is a reliable and valid measure of healthrelated quality of life among SCS population.

The aim of the present study is to determine relationship between the quality of service and customer satisfaction for cab services in Bengaluru city in India. For this, six variables were identified, namely comfort, safety, affordability, extent of service, driver’s behaviour and reliability. Pearson’s correlation test showed that all the variables were positively correlated with customer satisfaction. Six hypotheses were tested to study the effects of these variables on customer satisfaction. Multiple regression showed that the variables exerted a significant effect on customer satisfaction. As much as 97% variance in the customer satisfaction could be explained with the help of six variables that were tested

The purpose of the present study was to investigate if translators’ learning style and the interaction of translator's learning styles and proficiency level affect the translation quality of expressive texts. Participants included 52 translators who worked in translation centers in Shiraz. The elicitation instruments used for data collection were (a) an Oxford Quick Placement Test, used to measure the participants’ proficiency level, (b) the Felder (2006) learning style questionnaire, to find out the participants’ learning styles, and (c) a paragraph of expressive text which was translated to determine the quality of participants’ translations. Pearson’s correlation, t-test and two-way ANOVA procedures were used to analyze the data. The results revealed that translators’ learning styles significantly affect their quality of translation in that sensing translators outperformed visual ones. However, the interaction of learning style and proficiency level did not prove to be to be significant. Based on the results obtained, some suggestions were made.

This article presents the results of studying the impact of housing and feeding conditions on broiler chickens of Hubbard RedBro cross, as well as the quality of products obtained when using floor and cage content, in a farm. It established that when receiving a mixed feed of own production using feed raw materials grown on a farm without the use of pesticides, a statistically significant decrease in potentially dangerous substances for animal health is recorded. Compared with factory feed, it has reduced the content of pesticides by 14 times, and mercury and arsenic by 24 times, cadmium by five times, and lead by ten times. The results of the study of economic indicators of growing Hubbard RedBro cross broiler chickens, as well as the chemical composition and quality of carcasses, indicated that there was no significant difference between the floor and cell conditions of keeping. Still, the use of a diet based on eco-feeds contributed to a statistically significant decrease in the concentration of toxic metals in the muscles of the poultry of the experimental groups. As a result, it found that the use of the studied compound feed in the diets of broiler chickens increased the indicators of Biosafety and ensured the production of environmentally safe ("organic") poultry meat products.
