In many applications the quality of a process or product is best characterized and summarized by a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables. Profile monitoring is used to understand and to check the stability of this relationship over time. At each sampling stage one observes a collection of data points that can be represented by a curve (or profile). In some calibration applications, the profile can be represented adequately by a simple linear regression model, while in other applications more complicated models are needed. The purposes of this paper are to review recent research on the use of control charts to monitor process and product quality profiles and to encourage further research in this area.

In some real case problems, the relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables called as profile should be monitored over time instead of the quality characteristic itself. Profile monitoring is used in such instances. Many researches have been done in the area of profile monitoring but in most of them it is assumed that the response variable follows normal distribution. In recent years Yeh et al. (2009) proposed 5 T2 based methods for monitoring logistic profiles in which response variable is binary and Amiri et al. (2011) evaluate two of the best T2 methods for Poisson response profiles monitoring in Phase I. In this paper we will obtain the form of the Com Poisson equation and parametric estimation.

In most statistical process control (SPC) applications, quality of a process or product is monitored by univariate or multivariate control charts. However, sometimes a functional relationship between a response variable and one or more explanatory variables is established and monitored over time. This relationship is called “profile” in SPC literature. In this paper, we specifically consider processes with compositional data responses, including multivariate positive observations summing to one. The relationship between compositional data responses and explanatory variables is modeled by a Dirichlet regression profile. We develop a monitoring procedure based on likelihood ratio test (lrt) for Phase I monitoring of Dirichlet regression profiles. Then, we compare the performance of the proposed method with the best method in the literature in terms of probability of signal. The results of simulation studies show that the proposed control chart has better performance in Phase I monitoring than the competing control chart. Moreover, the proposed method is able to estimate the real time of a change as well. The performance of this feature is also investigated through simulation runs which show the satisfactory performance. Finally, the application of the proposed method is illustrated based on a real case in comparison with the existing method.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the application of the control chart procedure to monitor the characteristics whose profile over time resembles a set of connected line segments. Design/methodology/approach Fit a regression spline model by taking the subgroup average of the characteristic as response variable and time as the explanatory variable. Then monitor the response variable using the regression spline control chart with the fitted model as center line and upper and lower control limits at three standard deviation units of the response variable above and below the center line. Findings The proposed chart is successfully deployed to monitor the daily response time profile of a client server of an application support process. The chart ensured the stability of the process as well as detected the assignable cause leading to the slowing down of the server performance. Practical implications The methodology can be used to monitor any characteristics whose performance profile over time resembles a set of connected line segments. Some of the examples are the consumption profile of utility providers like power distribution companies, usage profiles of telecom networks, loading profile of airline check-in process, e-commerce websites, etc. Originality/value To the best of the author’s knowledge, construction of control charts using regression spline is new. The usage of the control chart to monitor the performance characteristics which exhibits a nonlinear profile over time is also rare.

Tanpura is a multi-stringed accompanying drone instrument extensively used in classical music in India. The instrument is plucked by finger. We know that jitter, shimmer and complexity perturbations (CP) are found also in tanpura signals. The source of origin of these perturbations was reported to be related to some sort of nonlinearity associated with the strings and their mode of attachment. The objective of the present study is to see in what way fractal-dimensional analysis may be helpful to relate the apparent nonlinearity and also if there is any relation of these dimensions with different part of the signals like attack time, quasi-steady state and the decay. In the paper fractal dimension, D0 and generalized dimensions, D2 to D10 and their dynamic behavior over time are studied for 15 tanpuras having four strings each, tuned to Pa (5th note), Sa (tonic), Sa (tonic) and Sa′ (lower octave tonic). The obeying of power law indicates nonlinearity in the production source system. The presence of multifractality is studied through an examination of relationship between q and Dq and the functional relationship between Dqs.

The aim of the research was to valuate the necial textbook for the fifth grade in the light of the quality standard. The researcher used the descriptive approach. The researcher prepare the list of the ritenia of the quality of the social textbook for the fifth grade. The sample was constructed in the simple survey (50) Specialization in research related to the evaluation and analysis of textbooks, the number of standards was (48) final criteria distribute in six felids and the validity of the standards as Merified by presenting them to (12) arbitrators and experts in the competence of curricula and methods of teaching, measurement and evaluation. The tool was applied to the social book of the fourth grade according to the list of criteria in the analysis and re-analysis of the researcher after 30 days to measure the stability over time and then the researcher and the first analyst and the researcher and the  second analyst the first analyst and the second used the equation Cooper for the calculation of the agreement and showed the coefficient of total stability(0.84). And was applied to achieve the goal of the research and the results showed the lack of quality standards in the six areas significantly. Only the standards were partially met.

One of the essential parameters to measure the stability and power-quality of an energy grid is the network impedance. Including distinct resonances which may also vary over time due to changing load or generation conditions in a network, the frequency characteristic of the impedance is an import part to analyse. The determination and analysis of the impedance go hand in hand with a massive amount of data output. The reduction of this high-resolution voltage and current datasets, while maintaining the fidelity of important information, is the main focus of this paper. The presented approach takes measured impedance datasets and a set of lossy compression procedures, to monitor the performance success with known key metrics. Afterwards, it continually compares the results of various lossy compression techniques. The innovative contribution is the combination of new and existing procedures as well as metrics in one approach, to reduce the size of the impedance datasets for the first time. The approach needs to be efficient, suitable, and exact, otherwise the decompression results are useless.

Abstract. Borderline Intellectual Functioning (BIF) refers to a global IQ ranging from 71 to 84, and it represents a condition of clinical attention for its association with other disorders and its influence on the outcomes of treatments and, in general, quality of life and adaptation. Furthermore, its definition has changed over time causing a relevant clinical impact. For this reason, a systematic review of the literature on this topic can promote an understanding of what has been studied, and can differentiate what is currently attributable to BIF from that which cannot be associated with this kind of intellectual functioning. Using Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) criteria, we have conducted a review of the literature about BIF. The results suggest that this condition is still associated with mental retardation, and only a few studies have focused specifically on this condition.

Individual differences in performance when solving spatial tasks can be partly explained by differences in the strategies used. Two main difficulties arise when studying such strategies: the identification of the strategy itself and the stability of the strategy over time. In the present study strategies were separated into three categories: segmented (analytic), holistic-feedback dependent, and holistic-planned, according to the procedure described by Peña, Contreras, Shih, and Santacreu (2008) . A group of individuals were evaluated twice on a 1-year test-retest basis. During the 1-year interval between tests, the participants were not able to prepare for the specific test used in this study or similar ones. It was found that 60% of the individuals kept the same strategy throughout the tests. When strategy changes did occur, they were usually due to a better strategy. These results prove the robustness of using strategy-based procedures for studying individual differences in spatial tasks.

Evaluative conditioning (EC) refers to valence changes in neutral stimuli (CSs) through repeated pairing with liked or disliked stimuli (USs). The present study examined the stability of EC effects in the course of 1 week. We investigated how this stability depends on memory for US valence and US identity. We also investigated whether CSs evaluations occurring immediately after conditioning (i.e., evaluative consolidation) are necessary for stable EC effects. Participants showed stable EC effects on direct and indirect measures, independent of evaluations immediately after conditioning. EC effects depended on memory for US valence but not for US identity. And although memory decreased significantly over time, EC effects remained stable. These data suggest that evaluative consolidation is not necessary, and that conditioned preferences and attitudes might persist even when people do not remember the concrete source anymore.
