The study aimed to identify the impact of E-Commerce (regulations and legislations, infrastructure, manpower) on stimulating investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We applied the descriptive-analytical method for achieving the study objectives. The questionnaire was administered to collect the data that were then analyzed using the SPSS system to provide answers for related questions and hypotheses. A random sample of 250 volunteering investors was taken, and the number of respondents reached 202 respondents, which represents 81% of the study population. We found that there is a significant impact of E-Commerce on motivating the investment and the existence of a statistically significant correlation between the independent variables as a whole were confirmed. The study also finds a substantial impact of the age variable on the investment in the KSA at the level (α=0.05), and the differences emerge of the age group (31-40). A few recommendations are provided, such as intensifying the studies within the subject domain by using different research methods. Further, another recommendation is to conduct different practical scientific studies on the state level to develop a structured and gradual mechanism for converting 85% of the conventional retail sector to E-Commerce in accordance with the KSA vision in 2030.

This descriptive study investigated the current status of ethics instruction in Turkish nursing education programs. The sample for this study comprised 39 nursing schools, which represented 51% of all nursing schools in Turkey. Data were collected through a postal questionnaire. The results revealed that 18 of these nursing schools incorporated an ethics course into undergraduate and three into graduate level programs. Most of the educators focused on the basic concepts of ethics, deontological theory, ethical principles, ethical problems in health care, patient rights and codes of ethics for nurses. More than half of the educators believed that students' theoretical knowledge of ethics is applied to their clinical experiences. The teaching methods used included discussion in class, lectures, case studies, small group discussion, dramatization and demonstration. Assessment was carried out by means of written essays and written examinations.

AbstractObjectivesAim of the study was to analyze the impact of head circumference (HC) and birth weight (BW) on the delivery mode and delivery outcomes.MethodsStudy population consisted of pregnancy, delivery and newborn data from 1,762 women, who delivered between 2004 and 2016 at University Hospital of Zurich (UHZ). Odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated for mode of delivery. Newborns were sorted into four groups according HC or BW. To evaluate the association between HC and delivery outcome, a descriptive analysis was performed. In addition reference charts of newborn HC at term were constructed.ResultsOR for instrumental delivery (ID) was 2.37 (CI 95%, 1.63–3.46), for C-Section (CS) 3.74 (CI 95%, 1.49–9.37) when HC >36 cm. OR for ID was 1.59 (CI 95%, 1.02–2.50), for CS 3.18 (CI 95% 1.08–9.350) when BW was >4,000 g. OR for ID was 2.15 (95% CI, 1.69–2.73), for CS 1.93 (95% CI, 0.89–4.18) when HC ≥36 cm and BW <4000 g. OR for ID was 2.23 (95% CI, 1.35–3.67), for CS 4.39 (95% CI, 1.48–12.99) when HC ≥36 cm and BW ≥4,000 g. HC ≥36 cm was defined as large in our study. Mothers with higher age and body mass index delivered babies with larger HC (p<0.05). Blood loss and duration of expulsion period and BW was associated with larger HC (p<0.05).ConclusionsThe rate of ID and CS increased in case of a larger HC and greater BW. However, the main prognostic factor for ID was size of HC: ≥36 cm, but not macrosomia.

The purpose of this study was to understand the impact of the distance learning programme on learning processes in nursing education. It was the purpose to highlight the differences and similarities in the traditional nursing programme vs. the distance learning programme. Empirically, the article builds on a comparative study of two Danish nursing schools and three different nursing classes, including one based on the distance learning programme. The three different nursing classes cover the ways of studying in nursing education in Denmark. Observations were conducted with the classes as a whole. Interviews were conducted with 7 students from the distance learning programme, 6 from the traditional programme and 5 from the credit transfer class. The interpretative approach was selected to form the background of this study. The observation, as well as the interview guide was formed on the basis of Etienne Wengers theory: “Learning in communities of practice”. The analysis was based on concepts from the same theoretical background, as the observations and interviews. Findings from the study show that the distance-learning students have a selective and targeted way of engaging in communities of practice. Findings in relation to age, to being well prepared and feeling responsible for own learning, in relation to doing a self study and to knowledge forms, seem to have precise relevance for the differences between the ways of studying in nursing education.
