The vegetative part of coniferous and deciduous wood plants is a unique source of natural compounds. The natural renewability of woody plants makes them an inexhaustible raw material for the production of biologically active substances. In the process of their production, about 70% of the non-recyclable post-extraction residue of the vegetative part remains, which is used as a feed additive. Since many plant wastes have a low protein content, in which essential amino acids are most often the limiting ones, they must be enriched with microbial protein, in particular the protein of basidial fungi. For this purpose, the fungi Fomitopsis pinicola (sw.) P. KARST (Fp5-15) were used in this work, since they are the least demanding to plant substrates and have high growth indicators. The purpose of this study was to study the amino acid composition of products obtained as a result of bioconversion of post-extraction residues of fir tree greens and the vegetative part of balsamic poplar (buds, litter). The analysis of the amino acid composition of the products showed that the protein score increases during the biodegradation process (phenylalanine and tyrosine-by 35 %, threonine – by 37.5%). Also, high amounts of glycine, alanine, histidine, aspartic acid, and glutamic acid were found in the products of biodegradation. In terms of the content of a number of amino acids, the resulting products are superior to cereals and feed products based on the vegetative part of woody plants. Thus, the results obtained show the possibility of using fermentation products as protein feed additives.

Abstract Reducing dietary crude protein in early nursery has been suggested as a way to conquer the challenge of post-weaning diarrhea. In order to meet the amino acid requirement in RCP diets, feed grade amino acids are typically used, but the detrimental effect on growth performance associated with the aggressive usage of these amino acids resulted in the establishment of dietary limits. Given the fact that protein deposition rate is the highest in young pigs, lower amino acid consumption could slow the growth rate and feed efficiency in early nursery phase. Therefore, identifying feed additives that increase nutrient retention not only can further reduce dietary nitrogen but also maintain GI tract health. Among all feed additives that exert improvements on nutrient digestibility, peptide and organic acids will be discussed here. Peptide, a di- tri amino acid, is absorbed more efficiently than free amino acids in the small intestine through a peptide transporter at the enteric site. In addition, aside from meeting the amino acid requirement, the bioactive peptide possesses functions such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and as a stimulated Peptide transporter associated with nutrient absorption. Hence, a dietary peptide can help pigs meet the nutrient requirement in RCP diets. Organic acids, on the other hand, have been found to lower gastric pH which improves nutrient absorption, alters microbiome structure (via bacteriostatic and bactericidal) and promotes the growth and health of animals. In addition, organic acids are a ready energy source which is especially critical since nutrient supply disruption, due to low intake during early weaning, is commonly found in weaning pigs. It is noteworthy that variations of growth-promoting effects do exist for both peptide and organic acid products. Thus, understanding the mode of action and response of dietary peptide and organic acid supplements when used across different farm settings is important to help producers decide when to transfer to an antibiotic-free, low zinc operation.

The use of herbs and spices has gained increasing interest as feed additives and possible alternative to antibiotics in poultry production. The effects of using different levels of coriander seed powder or extract on selected blood parameters, intestinal microflora, and immune response of broiler chickens were investigated in this study. A total of 420-day-old broiler chicks were randomly assigned to 7 treatments with 4 replicates and fed for 42 days. Results showed that inclusion of 2.0% coriander powder in broiler diets lowered total cholesterol while blood urea was significantly higher in birds on T4compared to T1and T2. Furthermore, there were no treatment effects onLactobacillusbacteria; however, the population ofE. coliwas significantly higher in the ileum of chickens fed T0. Noticeable significant improvements of antibody titer against Newcastle, infectious bronchitis, and infectious bursal disease were observed in birds receiving coriander extract in water. Immunoglobulin G antibody against sheep red blood cells showed significant improvement in birds fed T3; likewise, immunoglobulin M was significantly higher in birds on T2and T3at 28 d of age. These results revealed that coriander extract or powder can be used as antibiotic alternative in broiler feeds.

<p><span lang="EN-US">The purpose of the research was to investigate the chemical, mineral and amino acid content of meat of quails fed by biologically active additives based on the submerged bees of apimore, apiminum, aphytoitis. Feeding was carried out with full-fodder mixed fodders from one day to 56 days of age. The control group was fed by this fodder; experimental quails of the 2nd<span>  </span>group were fed by this fodder with added 3% of the apimore compound; the 3rd<span>  </span>group was fed also by apimin at the rate of 1.1 g per 1 kg of mixed fodder; the 4th<span>  </span>group was also fed by apiates at a rate of 200 ml per 1 kg of mixed fodder. Apimor and apimin were thoroughly mixed with feed. The feed additive aphytoitis was drunk with water, certainly, we have taken into consideration daily water consumption of quails. Four birds were slaughtered in each group at the end of experiment. The selection of average samples of muscle tissue was carried out during anatomical disassembly of quail carcasses. Physical and chemical parameters, mineral and amino acid compositions were evaluated for the study of the effect of feed additives based on submerged bees on muscle quality. In the control group, the ratio of pulp and bone was 3.81:1, in the experimental group it was 4.07-4.2: 1. Quails fed by apiite had the highest rate of breast meatiness; it was 4.3% (p &lt;0.001) higher than in the control group. The nutritional value of white quail meat of the 2nd group was significantly higher by 7.2% (p &lt;0.01), and in the 3rd and 4th groups it was lower, respectively, by 0.6% and 1.3%. The nutritional value of white meat protein is caused by the presence of essential amino acids in it. A noticeable increase of these amino acids in poultry meat of experimental groups indicated an improvement of its dietary qualities. Under the action of apivite valine increased by 2.1% (p &lt;0.001), lysine increased by 3.6% (p &lt;0.001) in the poultry meat; under the action of apimor content of threonine increased the by 8.5% (p &lt;0.001), methionine increased by 9.8% (p &lt;0.01), and phenylalanine increased by 11.2% (p &lt;0.001). Feeding by the researched feed additives influenced the increase of calcium in white meat quail by 37.7-40.5% (p &lt;0.001), phosphorus by 8.9-17.4% (p &lt;0.001). Usage of apivite increased the cuprum content by 22.7% (p &lt;0.001). The quail meat of the 4th group was characterized by the highest content of zinc, it was by 23.3% more than the control (p &lt;0.001), the 2nd and 3rd groups had more by 5.5% and 6.7% respectively. There is a tendency to increase the iron content in the experimental groups by 5.1 to 15.6% (p &lt;0.01). In studies, the content of cadmium was lower than the <span>threshold limit value</span> under the action of the apimore by 6.0%, apimin by 8.0 % and apivite by 34.0 %, plumbum content was lower by 36.6%, 31.4% and 32.6% respectively. The best indicators for reducing cadmium content in the chest muscles had the 4th group under the action of aphids, plymbum had the 2nd group under the action of apimor. According to the results of our research, the quality of quail meat from experimental groups significantly exceeds the quality of their analogues in the control group.</span></p>
