Introduction. To assess the current state of the technological system (TS) during grinding, it is preferable to use indirect criteria. Such approaches, in contrast to direct measurement methods, can be carried out without interrupting the production process. The main parameters used in the indirect assessment of the state of the cutting tool are the state of the workpiece (before and after processing), thermal and electrical characteristics of the cutting zone, vibroacoustic vibrations of the process, and force measurements. The work is devoted to the study of the acoustic parameters of grinding as a sufficiently informative and least resource-intensive characteristic. The relevance of the development of methods for assessing the state of the vehicle based on sound and topographic characteristics has many aspects, the main of which are applicability in grinding control, predicting the state of the cutting tool and planning the operations of the technological process. The aim of the work is to develop a mathematical model of the dependence of the vibroacoustic parameters of the external circular plunge-cut grinding process on the macro-roughness of the polished sample. The development of such a model is a necessary step in the design of a methodology for predicting the state of a tool. Accordingly, the subject of work is presented by two parameters simultaneously – the sound level arising in the process of grinding and the deviation of the surface shape of the ground images from cylindricality. The research methods used to achieve the designated aim were following: an experiment to study the sound phenomena accompanying round external plunge-cut grinding; measurement of macro-roughness of the surface of the samples, subjected to processing, using a coordinate measuring machine; correlation and regression analysis to obtain mathematical dependencies. Results and discussion. Two particular multiple linear regression models are obtained that describe the effect of the infeed rate and the operating time of the grinding wheel on the sound level during grinding and on deviations from the cylindricality of the processed samples. On the basis of particulars, a general model is developed that establishes the relationship between the sound characteristic and the macro-roughness index of the treated surface. It is shown that the sound characteristics (for example, the sound level) can be used as an indirect indicator of the current state of the vehicle, which makes it possible to assess the level of vibrations and, accordingly, to predict the quality of products.

A great deal of attention has been focused on the notion that child psychiatry and pediatrics should develop strong ties. Yet, a review of the literature suggests that, in spite of exhortations to the contrary, little true collaboration has developed between the two disciplines. This study surveys the major pediatric teaching and training centers throughout the country in an attempt to assess the current state of the relationship between child psychiatry and pediatrics. Of the 82 centers surveyed, 68% responded. Although enthusiasm and desire for closer collaboration were expressed repeatedly, actual successful efforts remain minimal. Psychiatric consultations on pediatric inpatient units continue to be the predominant child psychiatry service provided. A method for achieving closer relationships between the two disciplines is proposed.

In the grinding process, the grinding wheel surface condition changes depending on the dressing conditions, which affects the ground surface roughness and grinding resistance. Several studies have been reported on the practical application of dressing using prismatic dressers in recent years. However, only a few studies that quantitatively evaluate the effects of differences in dressing conditions using prismatic dresser on the ground surface roughness and grinding resistance have been reported. Thus, this study aims to evaluate quantitatively the effect of the difference in dressing conditions using the prismatic dresser on the ground surface roughness and grinding resistance by focusing on the dressing resistance. In the experiment, dressing is performed by changing the dressing lead and the depth of dressing cut with a prismatic dresser, and the ground surface roughness and grinding resistance are measured. Consequently, by increasing the dressing lead and the depth of dressing cut, the ground surface roughness increased, and the grinding resistance decreased. This phenomenon was caused by the increase in dressing resistance when the dressing lead and the depth of dressing cut were increased, which caused a change in the grinding wheel surface condition. Furthermore, the influence of the difference in dressing conditions using the prismatic dresser on the ground surface roughness and grinding resistance can be quantitatively evaluated by using the dressing resistance.

Grinding process is regarded as the most effective way to generate the tooth profile of spur shaper cutter. However, for the purpose of generating a tip chamfer of gear, the semi-topping is always required on the tooth surface of shaper cutter, which is difficult to process by grinding wheel. This paper proposes a method to compute the profile of grinding wheel which is used to process the spur shaper cutter with a semi–topping. Firstly, translate the points on the surface of shaper cutter into auxiliary rack; Secondly, building the relationship between the coordinate system of grinding wheel and coordinate system of auxiliary rack; Lastly, the points on the surface of auxiliary rack are translated into the coordinate system of grinding wheel based on the relative motion between the grinding wheel and shaper cutter.

This article repositions sovereignty on the basis of a study of recent regulatory approaches to organized crime and money laundering. The spread of techniques across administrative domains is traced through organizational documents and interviews with practitioners, and related to an observed trend toward integration between policing research and regulation research. The same trend, however, assigns sovereignty to the periphery. A richer notion of sovereignty is recovered through a reading of the classical theorists, and used to tease out the articulation of sovereignty in current state strategies. Theorizing ‘sovereignty at the center’ as opposed to ‘sovereignty at the periphery’ challenges basic assumptions about the relationship between the state and economic activity, and in particular about the utility-oriented character of state violence.

With the accuracy improvement of twin-screw compressor rotor machining, higher requirement of crew rotor grinded equipment and grinding process is put forward. Based the theory of screw grinding and CNC forming grinding wheel dress technology, the relationship between machine working parameters, CNC grinding wheel dressing parameters and screw rotor grinded process parameters are investigated, and the relationship between CNC grinding wheel dressing parameters and the screw rotor grinded process parameters is established, and its formulas are presented to describe the distances between grinding wheel axis and screw rotor axis. Through these formulas, the CNC wheel dressing program could be designed easily, the performance and efficiency of machine would be improved, and especially the machining quality of screw rotor would be enhanced and becomes more stability.

The research team, consisting of a political scientist and two young international finance specialists, made an interdisciplinary investigation on Sberbank to understand the prerequisites of its current state. To achieve this, the authors checked the history, principles of operation and the relationship of Sberbank with different political institutions, including the national state as the main one of these. We discovered that Sberbank changed drastically parallel to the changes of the state — founded as a transparent, stable saving institution during tsarist Russian Empire it absorbed all the controversy of later epochs with its “crescendo” in the 1990s. Much has been already saying about the citizens’ deposits, made before 1991 and later claimed “burnt” or “zeroed”, but the authors tried to add some arguments trying to represent alternative points of view and calculate the scales of citizens’ financial losses. The paper contains the analysis of the most important facts and stages of development of the organisation since the foundation till recent years.

The relationship of the subsystem of foreign policy and defense of the state has a cause-and-effect character, but nevertheless with a more significant influence of foreign policy on the defense of the state. The state defense system is a relatively independent factor, but in practice, it functions as a means or an instrument of foreign policy, which contributes to the successful realization and protection of the unified state goals on the international plane. The basic question asked in this paper is "What kind of the relationship between the state sub-systems of foreign policy and defense can be considered optimal in the state's efforts to realize and protect vital interests in the current state of international relations"? Each of the aforementioned subsystems has its own specifics of organizing and functioning in the process of creating and practicing the foreign policy of the state. The attitude of the state's subsystems of foreign policy and defense is most visible in the legal normative arrangement, the contents of the foreign policy positions of the highest state managers and strategic documents, functional cohesion, participation in regional and global international initiatives and organizations, participation in multinational operations, as well as in the process of information supply state leadership need for foreign policy decisions. Through analysis and description of the current situation in the foreign policy and defense subsystem, as well as their mutual relationship, critical elements of the systems and processes have been identified in order to be able to overcome the projection of the foreign policy of the state.

In finishing machining, the quality of workpiece is significantly influenced by the performance of solid cutting tool. Solid cutting tool flank is ground by CNC tool grinder in accordance with the tool path of grinding wheel. In actual grinding process, the grinding area of wheel will be gradually worn down, resulting in the decrease of geometric accuracy of flank and even wrong profile. In order to compensate the error, a compensation algorithm of tool path for solid cutting tool flank based on grinding wheel wear is proposed. Firstly, the coordinate systems are defined for the grinding process of flank, and the orientation and location calculation model of ideal wheel with the grinding process parameters is derived. Secondly, based on the profile description of wheel wear, flank errors are analyzed. Then, the compensation algorithm for anastomosis of cutting edge and relief angle is proposed. Finally, series of experiments of simulation and actual grinding are carried out. The comparison of the results shows that the algorithm can reduce the influence of wheel wear effectively, which can also improve the grinding quality stability and prolong the service life of grinding wheel.

This paper reported a deterministic method to predict geometrical interferences between grinding wheel and workpiece on ultra-precision grinding for micro aspherical lens mould. An inclined axis grinding mode controlled by B axis is considered and investigated. For avoiding the interference between the grinding wheel and the workpiece, the relationship of the radius of the grinding wheel should be analyzed in the grinding process. In this paper, a geometrical mathematical model for avoiding interferences between grinding wheel and workpiece is built up, and three interference conditions are analyzed. The maximum diameter of the cylindrical grinding wheel is computed and obtained for grinding axisymmetric aspheric surface.

This chapter moves the focus from the offender-state binary to a broader discussion about the relationship between penal policies, prisons, and society. It does so using a partly Durkheimian approach. The sociologist Émile Durkheim saw the function of the institutions of penality less as a form of instrumental rationality and more as a kind of routinized expression of emotion. According to such an approach, thinking of punishment as a calculated instrument for the rational control of conduct would be to miss its essential character, to mistake superficial form for true content since the essence of punishment is irrational, unthinking emotion fixed by a sense of the sacred and its violation. Furthermore, this chapter suggests that interpreting and implementing the rights of prisoners’ children and families provides a perspective on criminal justice systems, which can potentially change the current state-offender dynamic.
