Posture is the most healthy and correct placement of each region in the body when compared to the whole body. The predominantly use of one side of the body disrupts the posture. A bad posture changes the center of gravity of the body and causes chronic skeletal and muscle soreness. It is aimed to determine whether there is a rehabilitative effect of football training that does not require the use of dominant arms on posture asymmetries which may occur in the basketball which requires the use of dominant arm and leg in the study.15 male basketball players who played basketball for an average of 8 years with a mean age of 21.7 ± 1.5 years participated as volunteers. Postures of the subjects were measured with PostureScreen Mobile® before and after 12 week football trainings with lateral and anteriorly taken photographs. SPSS 22 was used program for statistical analysis. While analyzing of data Wilcoxon Test method was used and it is determined as significance level was p<0.05.After 12 weeks of football training, statistically significant differences were found in measurements taken from the anterior and lateral positions on the head, shoulder, ribcage, hip, and knee measured tilts and shifts. Estimated average head weight decreased depending on the posture of the cervical vertebrae and a significant difference was detected. Postures of subjects came close to the correct posture.Basketball is an acycle sport branch that requires the use of muscles on the dominant side. It creates an asymmetric position on the athlete due to this feature; causes shifting and tilts. In order to eliminate postural disorders that occur, the effectiveness of football training that does not require to use of the dominant side of the body has been demonstrated.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate forward masking by comparing latencies values of positive and negative peaks in frequency-following responses (FFR) recordings, in normally hearing young adults. Methods: from a database, 20 FFR recordings were selected, 10 being from men, and 10 from women, aged 18 to 25 years, with normal hearing. They were qualitatively analyzed by two experienced researchers and also analyzed, according to two different protocols of recording identification: (i) predominance of positive peaks - PV, A, PW, PX, PY, PZ, and O waves; and (ii) predominance of negative peaks - V, A, C, D, E, F, and O waves. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Wilcoxon test, and the Student’s t-test were conducted, by adopting the significance level of p<0.05. Results: the comparative analysis of latency peak values did not reveal any significant difference between the studied protocols. However, the standard deviation was higher for absolute latency values as compared to negative peaks, suggesting an inverted pattern of what was expected. Conclusion: forward masking was identified in both proposals and the protocol of predominant positive peaks was less variable.

The purpose of this study is to examine the acute effect of sparring training model on liver enzymes and muscle damage in boxers.14 voluntary athletes engaged in box (23.71±1.44 years of age; 167±5.89 cm; 62.05±8.89 kg) participated in the study. Sparring training model composed of warm-up (25 minutes), main part (30 minutes) and cool-down (15 minutes) exercises was applied to the boxers. The main theme of the study is composed of the free sub-stroke sparring training model in the liver region. Sparring training applied in the liver region and consisting of 3-minute time periods was repeated 3 times with a 1-minute interval as in the punch bag training. In venous blood samples taken from the study group before and after sparring training, AST, ALT and GGT enzyme activities and CK and LDH levels were analyzed with the spectrophotometric method in Beckman Coulter AU 5800 auto analyzer. Data were analyzed in SPSS 22.0 package program. The significance level was accepted as p<0.05 in statistical evaluations. Normal distribution of data was determined with Shapiro-Wilk test. Paired t-test was used in the statistical analysis of normally distributed data. Comparing AST, ALT, GGT, LDH and CK values of boxers before and after the training, it has been observed that there is a significant increase in AST, LDH and CK values after the training (p<0.05) and significant decrease in GGT values (p<0.05) while there is no significant difference in ALT values (p>0.05). In conclusion, it has been determined that sparring training model applied to boxers affects liver enzyme levels in them and significant increases occur in CK and LDH. More comprehensive prospective studies are required in order to establish the possible damage of punches to the liver region on liver in boxers.

This study examined the effect of administering an additional dose of prostaglandin F2 alpha (PGF2?), in a fixed-time artificial insemination protocol (FTAI), on the fertility of female Nellore cattle. Two experiments were carried out: the first (Experiment I) took place in the state of Tocantins and the second (Experiment II) in the state of Pará, Brazil. In Experiment I (E1), 80 cows were used in three treatments (T1, T2 and T3) in which all received the same FTAI protocol. In T1 (n = 29), the cows received 12.5 mg of Dinoprost on day 9; in T2 (n = 28), they received the additional dose on day 10; and in T3 (n = 23; control group), the animals did not receive the additional PGF2? dose. Experiment II consisted of 147 bovine females distributed into two treatment groups, namely, T1 - 72 animals receiving the same protocol as T1 of E1; and T2 - 75 animals receiving the same protocol as T3 of E1. Statistical analysis was performed using SAS software, applying the PROC NPARWAY procedure for E1, and means were compared by the Wilcoxon test at the 5% significance level. In Experiment II, the data were subjected to analysis of variance by PROC GLIMMIX and means were compared by the T test at the 5% significance level. The following pregnancy rates were obtained in Experiment I: T1 - 62.06% (18/29); T2 - 57.14% (16/28); and T3 - 52.17% (12/23), with no significant difference observed between treatments. In Experiment II, pregnancy rate in T1 was 66.67% (48/72), whereas in T2 it was 41.33% (31/75), with a significant difference detected (P < 0.05). An additional dose of PGF2? provides an increase in pregnancy rate in Nellore females.
