Many companies are using only a portion of what is needed in terms of Information Technologies (IT) and this has caused the researcher to study how best MSD can effectively utilize Management Information Systems (MIS). The objective that directed the study was to investigate value addition by information systems to a service providing business with specific reference to the weather station in Zimbabwe (Meteorological Services Department). Knowing the value added by MIS to one’s business and working environment is key to cope with the ever increasing challenges such as the volume of information resources, nature and quality of information, user needs and expectations, information and communication technology competencies and infrastructure, inflated cost of information resources and staffing needs.  The researcher studied how information systems add value to the daily business of Meteorological Services Department (MSD) in the following areas of the organisation processes: products, quality, management, problem solving and decision of the organisation. The study on value addition by management information systems will assist in the improvement of the MSD in Zimbabwe. The study used a multistage sampling process for drawing sample from the target population. Secondary and primary data collection methods were used for data collection purposes. The source for primary data was questionnaire. Five different types of Management Information Systems that add value to the MSD were identified;  Management Information Systems, Office Automation Systems, Executive Support Systems, Expert Systems, Decision Support System and Transaction Processing System. From the findings it was concluded that management information systems add value by allowing valid decisions which provide accurate and up-to-date information and performing analytic functions. This study demonstrated the importance of information systems in an organisation and outlined the fundamental roles of Information Systems (IS) which are to support business processes and operation, support decision making by employees and managers and support strategies for competitive advantage.

Today’s technology minimizes human errors and enables the implementation of applications that will enable electronic devices to work flawlessly as much as possible. Both socially and technically, in each sector with all levels, the manager must make decisions based on his/her responsibility and interest. In these environments, making the right decision, unprotected or minimal damage to the risks, depends on the personal ability of the decision-maker as well as the information that comes with it. The concept of Industry 4.0, which has emerged in parallel with technological developments, includes the transformation of production and service activities into modern automation systems in social areas and the use of new methods in data exchange. In this context, the internet of the objects, the internet of services and cyber-physical systems constitute the basic structures of the new formation. In this study, the use of these technologies in the areas where social sciences operate in the fields of which are the components of the technological developments that emerged as Industry 4.0 are discussed in the topics of Autonomous Robots, Big Data, Simulation, System Integration, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, 3D Printers, Enhanced and Virtual Reality. Planning, analysis, design, coding and implementation stages of many technologies produced and implemented by Management Information Systems for social sciences with the reason of the emergence of Industry 4.0, innovation, flexibility and efficiency approach will be explained in this study. Additionally, this paper examines the effect of the industrial transformation in Turkey. Keywords: Industry 4.0, internet of things, management information systems, information technologies

The purpose of this research is to investigate the enablers and inhibitors include dual factor theory of clouds based regional information system usage. This research took samples of financial employees who worked in the Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) in Jember Regency consisting of 200 respondents, used a survey method and primary data. The sample selection technique in this study uses purposive sampling, data analysis uses multiple regression. The results show, the first problem of IT infrastructure has a negative effect on the use of cloud-based regional management information systems. Secondly, the problem of human resource competency has a negative effect on the use of cloud-based regional management information systems. Third, perceived usefulness has a positive effect on the use of cloud-based regional management information systems. Fourth, perceived ease of use has a positive effect on the use of cloud-based regional management information systems.

One of the most important things in universities is the development of information systems and management of integrated data, important because of the high needs and completeness of attributes in each component related to academic affairs in all universities. Primary data in academics are students and lecturers. Data management and governance are well taken care of in order to deliver information to be accurate, transparency, accountability and actual. Lecturers and students can apply the SDLC model to produce a system that will later improve or replace the old system, through the design and implementation of data management information systems. In the application of policies towards lecturers and students, in this information system will provide formulation and overview to the leadership.

This study aims to determine the effect of excellent service training and management information systems on employee performance at the Surabaya Parahita Diagnostic Center Laboratory. By using a sample of 32 respondents, the type of data used is primary data. This study examines two independent variables, namely excellent service training and management information systems that affect the dependent variable, namely employee performance. Testing is done using multiple linear regression. The results showed that simultaneous training of excellent service has a significant effect on employee performance, management information systems have a significant effect on employee performance, and partially training in excellent service and management information systems have a significant effect on employee performance.

The management information system used in the organization has now increased when seen from its efficiency and effectiveness. The initial stage of developing management information systems aims to improve the efficiency of activities in the organization.  So that it is considered as part of a comprehensive organizational strategy. An important focus of MIS is on data collection. Because organizations are said to be successful if the quality of data collection is high. Management information systems also aim at decision making in an organization. The overall review of the literature highlights that management information systems play a major role in decision making in an organization. So the expected results of the study explain specifically the role  of management information system in managerial decision making.

This study aims to examine and analyze whether human resource competence, implementation of regional management information systems (RMIS), and organizational commitment affect treasurer performance of regional apparatus organizational expenditures with ease of use of information systems as a moderating variable in the government of Serdang Bedagai Regency. The research used in this research is associative causality research using primary data. The sampling method is the census method by giving a questionnaire to the Treasurer of Expenditure Organization of the Regional Government of Serdang Bedagai Regency. The hypothesis testing method uses Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results showed that human resource competence and organizational commitment had a positive and significant effect on the treasurer performance of regional apparatus organizational expenditures. The implementation of RMIS had a positive and no significant effect on the treasurer performance of regional apparatus organizational expenditures in the Serdang Bedagai Regency. The variable ease of use of the information system can moderate the influence of human resource competence on the treasurer performance of regional apparatus organizational expenditures in the Serdang Bedagai Regency. However, it cannot moderate the effect of the implementation of RMIS and organizational commitment on the treasurer performance of regional apparatus organizational expenditures in the Serdang Bedagai Regency. Keywords: Human Resources Competence, Implementation of RMIS, Organizational Commitment, Ease of Use of Information Systems.

Abstract. Digitalization, enhanced storage capacities, and the Internet of Things increase the volume of data in modern organizations. To process and make use of these data and to avoid information overload, management information systems (MIS) are introduced that collect, process, and analyze relevant data. However, a precondition for the application of MIS is that users trust them. Extending accounts of trust in automation and trust in technology, we introduce a new model of trust in MIS that addresses the conceptual ambiguities of existing conceptualizations of trust and integrates initial empirical work in this field. In doing so, we differentiate between perceived trustworthiness of an MIS, experienced trust in an MIS, intentions to use an MIS, and actual use of an MIS. Moreover, we consider users’ perceived risks and contextual factors (e. g., autonomy at work) as moderators. The introduced model offers guidelines for future research and initial suggestions to foster trust-based MIS use.
