The paper deals with the problem of the fundamental training of doctors on the basis of solving various groups of educational and professional tasks in continuing medical education. Analysis of various scientists views allowed the authors to determine that the continuity and integrity of education is ensured by continuity in solving educational and professional tasks, formed from professional tasks. Due to the fact that in health care there is a fairly rapid introduction of the basic sciences (molecular biology, biophysics, biochemistry) achievements results into the processes of medical care, the knowledge-intensiveness of labor functions increases, their diversity increases, which leads to an increase in professional tasks. The interrelation of types and classes of educational and professional tasks ensures the continuity of the content of the fundamental training of doctors. Intra-subject relationships are formed between groups of educational and professional tasks (invariant and variable), ensuring the integrity of the content of the biological training of doctors. Division of educational and professional tasks into classes and types allows to systematize the content of fundamental training of doctors in accordance with the actual educational needs of the trained doctors and the requirements of practical public health, which in turn ensures continuity, expressed in the sequence and consistency of the content, forms and methods of the educational process; in the consistency and coherence of training at various stages of medical education.

Videoconferencing has been used to provide distance education for medical students, physicians and other health-care professionals, such as nurses, physiotherapists and pharmacists. The Dalhousie University Office of Continuing Medical Education (CME) has used videoconferencing for CME since a pilot project with four sites in 1995–6. Since that pilot project, videoconferencing activity has steadily increased; in the year 1999–2000, a total of 64 videoconferences were provided for 1059 learners in 37 sites. Videoconferencing has been well accepted by faculty staff and by learners, as it enables them to provide and receive CME without travelling long distances. The key components of the development of the videoconferencing programme include planning, scheduling, faculty support, technical support and evaluation. Evaluation enables the effect of videoconferencing on other CME activities, and costs, to be measured.

Возникновение нового варианта вируса и эпидемический потенциал, проявленный возбудителем COVID-19, поставили перед специалистами здравоохранения задачи, связанные с быстрой разработкой диагностики и профилактики новой инфекции, а также тактики оказания медицинской помощи больным. Активное распространение коронавирусной инфекции заставило активно вносить изменения в систему медицинского образования. Целью данной работы был анализ эпидемиологической ситуации по COVID-19 в Республике Мордовия для понимания особенностей развития эпидемического процесса и составления его прогноза, а также рассмотрения перестройки образовательного процесса в условиях пандемии. Проведен ретроспективный анализ эпидемиологической ситуации по заболеваемости COVID-19 в Республике Мордовия, проанализирована эффективность реализации профилактических и противоэпидемических мероприятий, приведены данные по динамике заболеваемости, выздоровлению и летальности пациентов. Изучены элементы перестройки образовательного процесса. Проанализирована эпидемиологическая ситуация в сравнении с некоторыми регионами РФ, изучены данные по проведению вакцинации, по динамике коечного фонда за период пандемии. Вероятность смерти от коронавируса COVID-19 в Республике Мордовия аналогична мировым показателям. Можно предположить, что дистанционное обучение займет одну из лидирующих позиций в высшей школе. Благополучная ситуация в Республике Мордовия с заболеваемостью и летальностью от новой коронавирусной инфекции складывалась благодаря реализации научно обоснованной стратегии опережающего реагирования – на основе постоянной оценки масштабов распространения новой коронавирусной инфекции, анализа тенденций эпидемического процесса, моделирования развития эпидемической ситуации и проводимых превентивных мероприятий. Непосредственное участие преподавателей университета в лечебной работе, использование их опыта и знаний в решении практических задач будут способствовать повышению качества медицинской помощи и развитию системы здравоохранения Республики Мордовия не только в условиях пандемии COVID-19, но и в дальнейшем. The emergence of a new variant of the virus and the epidemic potential manifested by the causative agent of COVID-19 have set health professionals tasks related to the rapid development of diagnostics and prevention of a new infection, as well as tactics for providing medical care to patients. The active spread of coronavirus infection has forced active changes to the system of medical education. The goal is to analyze the epidemiological situation of COVID-19 in the Republic of Mordovia in order to understand the development of the epidemic process and make a forecast, consideration of the restructuring of the educational process in the context of a pandemic. In this article, a retrospective analysis of the epidemiological situation on the incidence of COVID-19 in the Republic of Mordovia is carried out, the effectiveness of the implementation of preventive and anti-epidemic measures is analyzed, data on the dynamics of morbidity, recovery and mortality of patients are presented. The elements of the restructuring of the educational process are studied. The epidemiological situation was analyzed in comparison with some regions of the Russian Federation, data on vaccination, on the dynamics of the bed fund during the pandemic period were studied. The probability of death from the COVID-19 coronavirus in the Republic of Mordovia is similar to the indicators around the world. It can be assumed that distance learning will take one of the leading positions in the process of studying in higher education. A favorable situation in the Republic of Mordovia with morbidity and mortality from a new coronavirus infection was formed positive to the implementation of a scientifically grounded strategy of proactive response – based on a constant assessment of the scale of the spread of a new coronavirus infection, analysis of trends in the epidemic process, modeling the development of the epidemic situation and ongoing preventive measures. The direct participation of university teachers in medical work, the use of their experience and knowledge in solving practical problems will contribute to improving the quality of medical care and the development of the healthcare system of the Republic of Mordovia not only in the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also in the future.

AIM: To present the phases of development and activities over the 70-year period of existence and work of the Macedonian Medical Association, from its establishment in 1945 to 2015.METHODS: A retrospective study based on available archive materials, encyclopaedias and other sources of information and reviews of the relevant literature, and personal experiences and observations of the author.RESULTS: Macedonian Medical Association was established on August 12, 1945, with science and health educational mission and program. Dr Boris Spirov was elected as the first president of the Association, one of the main initiators and facilitators of activities in health care sector, including the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine in Skopje in March 1947. Over the past 70 years, the Association is the main carrier and has a key role and contribution in continuing medical education, vocational and scientific advancement of medical staff and improvement the dignity and reputation of the medical profession. The journal of the Association Macedonian Medical Review has contributed to spreading and advancement of knowledge and skills of modern medicine, as well as presenting professional and scientific achievements of physicians in the past 70 years. Macedonian Medical Association is a member of the World Medical Association and many other international associations and organisations contributing to international collaboration in education and science and promoting the Republic of Macedonia in Europe and worldwide.CONCLUSION:Macedonian Medical Association over the 70-year period of its existence has been one of the pillars and lighthouse in the healthcare system in the Republic of Macedonia with great contribution to the advancement of medical and related sciences and continuing medical education, strengthening of health services and health care for the population and overall socio-economic development of the Republic of Macedonia during the past 70 years.

Abstract Background: Continuing Medical Education (CME) is concerned with the maintenance, improvement, and promotion of the health care and exhausts the physicians’ working life-span. Although international research is extensive, only a dearth of studies exists in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. This study aims to explore CME practices of resident physicians in Abha City, south western Saudi Arabia and the existing gaps.Method: A cross-sectional questionnaire-based descriptive study conducted on residents training in various health-care facilities in Abha city. Results: Three-hundred resident physicians participated in the study (response rate of 75%). Out of them 79,7% (239) reported attending lectures and seminars for their CME needs followed by those who attended case presentations 39.7% (119). Electronic CMEs were used by a minority of residents (n = 24, 8%), and only 27.3% (n = 82,) attended journal clubs. Being busy was the main barrier against self-reading as reported by 70.7% (212) of participants, and by 51.7 % (155) for lectures and seminars, and 41.3% (124) for attending courses. There were no significant differences in satisfaction with CME activities by gender, nationality and training level (p = 0.982, 0.924, and 0.540, respectively). Satisfaction scores with CME activities were variable across different specialties (p = 0.039). The lowest satisfaction scores were among psychiatry residents and the highest was among the restorative dentistry and surgery residents. Workshops and courses were significantly perceived by residents as the most effective method in retention of knowledge, improving attitudes, improving clinical skills, improving managerial skills, and in proving practice behaviors. On the other hand, inter-departmental activities were significantly perceived by residents as most effective in improving academic skills and improving departmental image.Conclusion: The participant physicians favoured contact CME activities. In consistence with global research findings, being busy was the main barrier against CME goals attainment. Participants affirmed that CME activities improved their clinical practice, clinical skills and academic skills. Promotion of online learning in Saudi Arabia. Support of residents with protected time for their CME activities. Encouragement of trainees into further advice about their preference in terms of CME forms to help boost their engagement.

The article refers about the problems of Russian health care and higher and midlle medical education as integral elements of a single holistic system of the state in the conditions of their commercialization. A serious test for health care was the Covid-19 epidemic, which revealed the consequences of the so-called optimization of the medical industry: lack of an effective plan to prepare for the outbreak, lack of hospitals and beds, trained medical and nursing personnel, necessary equipment and medicines, test systems for determining coronavirus, protective suits, consumables, including masks. In order to understand modern trends, the dynamics of indicators of the state of the medical industry in Tsar 's Russia, the USSR and the Russian Federation after 1991 to the present have been traced. Modern Russia finds itself in a number of positions dropped to the indicators of 1913 (reduction of the number of hospitals and polyclinics, graduation of doctors and paramedics, in fact there is no medical industry, chemical and pharmaceutical production, etc.). The main elements of effective organization of higher medical education are identified, which presents both issues of material support of students and teachers, as well as core issues of educational process. The weaknesses of medical education have been identified, which are due both to the lack of sound State policy to support it and to its consequence - insufficient funding. The materials of the article make it possible to formulate the principles of restoration of domestic medical education as the foundation of the health care system.
