It is used as a theoretical-methodological basis for the Cultural History in the direction of provide meaning the appropriations that were made in relation to the primary school in times of the New School. There is a predominance of solving arithmetic problems related to students’ daily life, indicating a preoccupation with an abstraction of concepts with a focus on an arithmetic practice, whose purpose was to prepare a student for the life outside of school after four years of primary school. It is observed the evaluation of the student as an individual, with respect to its rhythm and difficulties presented in the learning of Arithmetic, one of the markers of the New School, the student considered the protagonist of the process of teaching and learning, being able To interact in the social environment in a more humane formation. Keywords: Arithmetic.
This article describes the explanation of history and its implications in the development of Islamic Culture History learning models in Islamic Primary School. As an independent science, history has a different methodology. Therefore, the explanation is different from the history of other scientific explanations, though conceptually adopted the theory of social and natural sciences to support the explanation. These rules include the historical explanation; regularity, generalization, statistical inference, periodical, historical narrative and the implications for the development of Islamic Culture History interpretation in Islamic Primary School learning model which requires teachers choose a model student-oriented learning (student centered). For an explanation of the history of the reconstruction of historical events that allow teachers to give crude learning materials so students should be involved to design his own knowledge until he is able to think critically and learn many values from explanation history. One of the today’s appropriate learning models is Contextual Teaching and Learning. This model is a holistic view of learners not only on psychological but also on social and neurotical. This model also requires the integral learning, bringing together the experience of learning in the classroom with daily experiences of students.

Keywords: explanation, contextual teaching and learning

It considers the debate between two different models, for the training of the teachers of primary school: the illustrated model, for the teaching of general culture, and the model of restricted professional formation. The analysis takes the referents of Cultural History. This study is guided by the question: What reasons justify the entry of Algebra into the training of primary school teachers? The results of this investigation show the presence of algebraic rudiments that amplify the domain of traditional Arithmetic. More broadly, these conclusions indicate that for the study of training models it is necessary to consider the purposes of each particular knowledge, of each mathematical content. Keywords: Teacher Training. Abstract This article discusses results from research developed on the transformations in mathematics teaching in primary school and the mathematics in teacher training from the 19th century to the mid-20th century in Brazil. We have analyzed the understanding of the relationship between the mathematical disciplinary field and pedagogy in order to confirm the theoretical hypothesis that the interactions between the two fields produce mathematics of different natures, which are interconnected.

As the theme is inserted in the History of Mathematics Education, this qualitative and documentary study is based on cultural history. The book published by the bookstore Selbach, Porto Alegre, had its first edition in 1900. The target audience were the students of the 3rd and 4th elementary year of the rural schools in Brazil, unidocentes and mixed. The idea was to guide the future settlers in their income and expenses to properly manage the family budget and manage the production in the rural property. This practice was common in these communities, since it was intended to prepare the children for the future, able to carry out commercial transactions and give continuity to the family business. Such actions, at the same time, would be part of the denominated Financial Education, as an object of knowledge indispensable to be worked in Brazilian schools. The activities developed, based on problem situations, are related to different mathematical contents, involving arithmetic, developing skills for the management of written and mental calculation through the resolution of everyday problems. Keywords: History of Mathematics Education. Linguistic studies have shown that the traditional idea that the expansion of the Inca Empire was the driving force behind the spread of all Quechua cannot be correct. Across much of its distribution, Quechua has far greater time-depth than can be accounted for by the short-lived Inca Empire. Linguistics likewise suggests that Aymara spread not from the south into Cuzco in the late Pre-Inca period, but also from an origin to the north. Alternative explanations must be sought for the expansion of these language families in the culture history of the Andes. Archaeological studies over the past two decades now provide a broad, generally agreed-upon outline of the cultural history of the Cuzco region. This chapter applies those findings to examine alternative possibilities for the driving forces that spread Quechua and Aymara, offering a clearer cross-disciplinary view of Andean prehistory.

AbstractFrom its initial development by Carlo Forlanini at the end of the nineteenth century until the advent of antibiotics in the 1940s, artificial pneumothorax was one of the most widely used treatments for pulmonary tuberculosis. However, there were strongly held reservations about this therapy because of its risks and side effects. In the Soviet Union under Stalin, such uncertainties became instruments of political denunciation. The leading Soviet pulmonary physician Volf S. Kholtsman (1886–1941) was alleged to have used the so-called ‘aristocratic therapy’ of artificial pneumothorax to kill prominent Bolsheviks. Drawing on documents from Stalin’s personal Secretariat, this historical study of the pneumothorax scandal contributes to the cultural history of tuberculosis, showing how it was instrumentalised for political purposes.
