Modern universities may play a significant role in entrepreneurial ecosystems by boosting the entrepreneurial activity of the region. One way to achieve this is through entrepreneurship education. In this study we suggest that one reason why entrepreneurship education has a weak impact on entrepreneurial activity is that the effect of courses and extracurricular programmes depends on how students perceive the entrepreneurial activity. We use the 2018 GUESSS database, which includes 9,667 answers for Hungary, to develop a general linear model. The model suggests that students’ entrepreneurial intentions, attitudes toward entrepreneurship, self-efficacy, social norms, as well as the university, and the field of study all have a small but statistically significant impact on how students perceive the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the university. Our conclusion is that more emphasis on shaping attitudes and arousing student interest can increase the efficiency of entrepreneurship education.

<p>In recent decades, entrepreneurship has become a major economic and social phenomenon, a subject of research and a new field of education. While entrepreneurship is not a new concept, it regained importance particularly in scientific research. Entrepreneurship is seen as a vector for innovation and economic efficiency but also as a powerful job creator. Along with the evolution of entrepreneurship, there is a growing interest in the development of training programs to encourage entrepreneurship in universities. The challenge remains to find a consensus on the content to be taught and the type of learning to guide student behavior. Several empirical studies indicate that education can foster entrepreneurship. Yet the impact of entrepreneurship education programs on entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial values remains largely unexplored.</p><p>In this study, we used the theory of planned behavior to assess the impact of entrepreneurship education programs on entrepreneurial intentions in Moroccan universities, particularly the University of Rabat (Mohammed V University).</p>

In higher education institutions, entrepreneurship learning based on successful entrepreneurial role models may promote education for sustainable development. Several theoretical perspectives, such as the human capital theory, the entrepreneurial self-efficacy and self-determination theory, argue that entrepreneurship education is positively correlated with entrepreneurial intentions of students, as it provides adequate know-how and skills and motivates them to develop their entrepreneurial careers. In entrepreneurship education programmes, exposure to successful entrepreneurial models could be a significant factor for stimulating students’ confidence in their ability to start a business and for improving their attitudes towards entrepreneurship. This study aims (i) to identify characteristics viewed by students as being specific to a successful entrepreneur, (ii) to establish the influence of exposure to successful entrepreneurial role models (chosen by students) during entrepreneurship education classes on student entrepreneurial intentions, and (iii) to assess how such exposure influences the attitudes of students towards entrepreneurship. For this purpose, the authors ran a pilot experiment with 30 graduate students enrolled in a Business Creation course using a research methodology that combined qualitative techniques with quantitative measures. Content and statistical analyses were utilised to examine differences in student entrepreneurial intentions and attitudes towards entrepreneurship after being exposed to successful entrepreneurial models. Our study provides evidence that entrepreneurship education based on successful entrepreneurial role models may positively influence the entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions of students and could lead to higher orientation of student perception towards social benefits of entrepreneurship (new jobs) compared to financial ones (high income). However, our findings stress that if educators want to improve the efficiency of education focused on developing entrepreneurial skills, graduate programmes should be designed differently for business and non-business students, since studying successful entrepreneurial stories impacts these two groups differently.

Universities now see the promotion of student and graduate start-ups as a key part of their role. This has two strands: (i) incorporating entrepreneurship education into the curriculum, and (ii) activities and infrastructure to support and accelerate the start-up process. There is now a substantial literature on the design, content, delivery and impact of entrepreneurship education. In contrast, little attention has been given to these issues in the context of student business start-up programmes. This paper describes and reflects on the outcomes of an ongoing small-scale start-up programme – the Santander Summer Company Programme at the University of Glasgow and offers a number of observations on the objectives, design and evaluation of such programmes. A key conclusion is that such programmes require to be part of a broader university entrepreneurial ecosystem and embedded within the wider local, regional and national entrepreneurial ecosystems.

Entrepreneurial activities have been vital to economic growth as a feasible career option for many university graduates. Nonetheless, it has been recognised that the lowest intentions to undertake entrepreneurial activity are among female graduates. While entrepreneurship is claimed to be a reflection of creative activity from which individuals generate value, graduates’ creativity can be a crucial aspect of entrepreneurship, with innovative concepts, products and services. This study examines the role of creativity skills in the entrepreneurial intentions of female university students attending business programs. Built on the Theory of Planned Behaviour, the survey results collected from 303 female business graduates identified the positive influence of creativity on entrepreneurial intentions. Recognising the need to embed creative skills and activities in the university curriculum is fundamental to encouraging entrepreneurial aspirations among female graduates.

Entrepreneurship education can increase student’s entrepreneurial skills and intention; and entrepreneurship activities stimulate economic growth. Therefore, the number of entrepreneurship courses is increasing, but they are often offered to students from a specific field of study and/or to only one educational level, even though multidisciplinarity is important for entrepreneurship. This study has carried out an exploratory single case study on an entrepreneurial programme in a multidisciplinary environment, that is, the Contamination Lab of Turin (CLabTo). Moreover, pre- and post-surveys have also been conducted in order to perform some qualitative analyses. The results show the importance of creating teams with different competencies, cognitive and decision-making skills. Moreover, we explain how design-thinking is useful in entrepreneurship education and that a challenge-based entrepreneurship course leads to cooperation with external actors in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. It is also explained what the obstacles and opportunities of these programmes are and how to improve them. Moreover, on the basis of pre- and post-surveys, our qualitative analyses show that the students’ overall perception of their abilities to work in a multidisciplinary team, their entrepreneurial skills and entrepreneurial intentions increased slightly. In short, this work is aimed at increasing the importance of entrepreneurship education in a multidisciplinary environment and the use of practical-oriented teaching models.

A university plays a fundamental role in establishing and developing an entrepreneurial-oriented economy. The entrepreneurship education has been recognized very important which helps students to understand and foster entrepreneurial intention and attitude. The purpose of the present study is to examine entrepreneurship education and associated entrepreneurial intentions of students of public and private universities of Bangladesh. Few empirical studies done in Bangladesh have examined the entrepreneurial intentions of the university students. This study will fill the research gap in this respect. This study implies that university role, types of course programs influence attitude and intention and elevates the chances that students would eventually choose an entrepreneurial career. The findings of this study have policy implications in inducing more university graduates to start their own businesses.

The pattern of accounting education at the university level is often direct the student to fulfill positions at established companies or institutions. The competencies held by accounting graduates should also be directed to support a country's economy through its role in the field of entrepreneurship. It cannot be denied, entrepreneurship is one of the pillars of the country's economy. Therefore entrepreneurial behavior must always be encouraged, one of them through entrepreneurship education. This study will examine the role of entrepreneurship education and the Love of Money towards the intention to entrepreneurship in accounting students. The results showed that entrepreneurship education independently has not been able to encourage intentions for entrepreneurship, but students with high levels of Love of Money have an influence on entrepreneurial intentions. The sample in this study were 70 accounting students at one of the private university in Surakarta. Through this research the university is expected to be able to encourage accounting students to become entrepreneurs, as well as to package the patterns of activities to be more effective and efficient. Purpose of the study: This study examines the impact of creativity and entrepreneurship education on student entrepreneurial intentions at Jakarta State University. Methodology: This study, we applied quantitative research which conducting in two-phase First, we perform exploratory factor analysis test, and the second phase, we confirmatory factor analysis using AMOS version 18. Main Findings: This study carried out the findings that there is an impact on creativity on entrepreneurial education, lectures on individual creativity, entrepreneurial education on entrepreneurial intention, and creativity supported in the university on individual creativity. Furthermore, creativity supported not impact on entrepreneurial intention, and individual creativity has not to impact on entrepreneurial intention. Applications of this study: This research can be used by university leaders to increase students’ intention to become entrepreneurs through optimizing entrepreneurship education and creativity support from universities. Novelty/Originality of this study: In this study, we found that there was an influence of lecturer on creativity on entrepreneurship education. Previous researchers have never revealed this finding. Our research also found the impact of individual creativity on the intention of entrepreneurship. This finding has not been revealed in some previous studies.

Entrepreneurship education has become a regular part of the higher education curriculum worldwide. However, the distinct impacts of different pedagogical methods remain unclear. I develop six hypotheses and test them on a sample of participants in a business plan course and a lean startup camp. While any entrepreneurship course participation contributes to the students’ entrepreneurial intentions, students gain very different learning outcomes depending on the courses’ types. The impact of the business plan course (a hybrid supply–demand model course) lies mainly in its ability to increase the interest in general entrepreneurial activity of students with initially low entrepreneurial intention. The lean startup camp (a competence model course) attracts participants who are already highly motivated and is effective in fostering the initiation of startup projects. As parts of a balanced strategy within an entrepreneurial university, both pedagogical methods can contribute substantially to different objectives of entrepreneurship education.

Research Question: This paper explores the potential of new start-ups and spin-offs within the university capacity and their impact on the process of creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Motivation: The research presented in this paper is motivated by the desire to analyse the role of university in entrepreneurial ecosystem based on the real case of the University of Novi Sad. An insight into relevant literature sources revealed that there exists a large influence of university’s new companies in developing the entire business environment and business sustainability. This example could be relevant to similar universities in the other developing countries, because current literature covers only examples from developed countries. One of this is a research paper conducted by the Stanford University under the name “An analysis of the entrepreneurial activity of the Stanford community over 50 years”. Idea: The main idea is to present the importance of University’s new companies in creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem, and their impact on the creation of economic activity and sustainable development. Data: This research includes economic activity data of business entities at the University of Novi Sad. This paper presents data on new companies within the University of Novi Sad in the period 1990-2015 which were available, as well as data on companies in the territory of the Republic of Serbia, Vojvodina region and the City of Novi Sad. In this analysis, 123 companies from the University of Novi Sad were included. Tools: In this paper comparative statistics was used based on collected data of the total number of companies and the number of employees according to company’s size and geographical location. For the purpose of this research, we used interactive internet portals Trading Economics and IvanStat. Findings: According to the analysis, the University of Novi Sad is a prominent example of the establishment and operation of new companies founded within it. The percentage of companies that have survived in the observed period is high and it is approximately 63%. Contribution: This paper gives us an overview of newly founded companies (start-ups and spin-offs) within the University of Novi Sad, especially focusing on economic activity and creating conditions for sustainable development.
