The Indonesian nation has a diversity of languages in each region, so the use of language triggers interference. Interference occurs because a speaker has not fully understood the context of the language used. Judging from the performance, the speaking skills of high school students in Batubara Regency in local languages are more dominant than those in Indonesian language. Thus, regional language interference as a more dominant language can occur into Indonesian in students' speaking skills. This study aims to describe the interference of the Malay dialect of Malay in the ability of high school students in Batubara. As well as describing the factors and functions of Malay coal dialect interference in Indonesian. The findings of this study were phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic interference by high school students in Batubara District. There are nine factors for interference. The Indonesian language ability of high school students in Batubara is good. The presence of interference in the speech of high school students in Batubara for several reasons, namely: to emphasize the meaning, to express feelings of emotion, and to respect the speech partner.

This study aims to develop abased social integration education model Pela-Gandong as a local content formed through the togetherness of life of the brothers based on kinship values and customary institutions in the context of cultural local wisdom in Maluku. The implementation of the development of this model was based on the desire to recognize, maintain and preserve Maluku culture as an ancestral heritage, which had experienced the shock of harmony in the lives of brothers due to the Maluku conflict in 1999-2004, so through Pela-Gandong based social integration education in Maluku it can be used as a cultural instrument in the intellectual life of the nation but also as an effort to maintain the nobility of the values of the nation's own culture. The rapid changes in science and technology witnessed in recent decades have significantly contributed to the arousal of the awareness by decision-makers and the public as a whole of the need to strengthen the connection between outreach activities of universities and research institutes and the activities of educational institutions, with a central role played by schools. While the relevance of the problem is nowadays unquestioned, no unique and fully satisfactory solution has been identified. In the present paper we would like to contribute to the discussion on the subject by reporting on an ongoing project aimed to teach Particle Physics in primary schools. We will start from the past and currently planned activities in this project in order to establish a broader framework to describe the conditions for the fruitful interplay between researchers and teachers. We will also emphasize some aspects related to the dissemination of outreach materials by research institutions, in order to promote the access and distribution of scientific information in a way suited to the different age of the target students.

Background:International studies have shown that the awareness and knowledge of the general population about rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases (RMDs) is poor. This is even lower in the young population, which are also affected by these disease but do not have as much awareness campaigns as adult community. Their professors and primary health care professionals may also play here also a key role, promoting early detection of signs and interpretations of symptoms, thus avoiding late health care referrals and diagnosis. (Vlieland, 2016).Objectives:To assess the knowledge of high school Portuguese students about the RMDs and raise awareness for RMDs in young people, their professors, vigilants, and primary care nurses, within the school environment. Methods:A 1-hour educational session about RMDs was planned (with the inputs from members of the Portuguese EULAR Associations) and performed during school activities. The educational session started with a knowledge questionnaire about RMDs in a paper sheet (9 questions; Graph 1), repeated in the end. An interactive session, using slides, interactive questions (Sli.do®), and practical demonstrations to simulate RMD symptoms (e.g. stiffness and functional limitations) was then lead by a rheumatology nurse, with the testimony from a young patient representative. A primary care nurse assisted in order to be engaged and promote future sessions (“autonomously”). Change in knowledge was assessed with Wilcoxon-test and awareness was documented with “word clouds” (using Sli.do®).Results:A total of 75 students participated in four sessions (mode=16 years). Half of students (52%) had never heard about RMDs. Knowledge increased significantly in all questions (p<0.001; Graph 1). Figures 1 and 2 document the most common words representing what defines a RMD and what are the main symptoms, respectively. Conclusion:Our results confirm that awareness and knowledge about RMDs are very low high school students. The single and educational session was very well received by all students, and the the knowledge increased. Post-educational feedback was that students especially liked the testimony of a peer. Other sessions are taking place in primary schools.References:[1]Vlieland, T. P., et al. Motivation to learn languages strongly correlates with language achievement, and the school context has a great influence on the motivation of young learners (YLs). A key rationale for the implementation of content and language integrated learning (CLIL) programs, therefore, was pupil motivation. Very few studies have measured motivation in this context, especially in primary schools. Even fewer have done so in bilingual areas, where the continuation of widespread use of the regional language often depends on its presence in the school system and where CLIL reduces this presence. To address these gaps, motivation towards the foreign language (FL), English, and the regional language, Basque, was measured in 399 YLs of English (aged 10–12 years) in Basque immersion schools. The learners were divided into a CLIL group ( n = 230), with English as a foreign language (EFL) and CLIL lessons, and a non-CLIL group ( n = 169), which received only EFL lessons. Results showed that the CLIL learners had a more positive attitude towards English and a slightly lower motivation towards Basque. This suggests that increasing the amount of exposure to the foreign language (FL) via CLIL lessons improves the motivation towards English but could decrease the instrumental motivation towards the regional language.
