Despite the fact that social changes are often proclaimed as a combination of positive development prospects, in practice they will not necessarily lead to positive results for everyone and in general. The sociological, ontological and cultural essence of modern changes in the mode of unreliability and redundancy of security systems is revealed. The horizon of understanding the problem in the mode of transition to a new technological order, which requires individual adaptation of people to a risk-generating environment, to a society without guarantees, is proposed. The concepts of “the lack of protection” and “the culture of control” are the basic part of the content. It has been established that digitalization is not substantial, but epiphenomenal, and that the culture of control is an imperative of digitalized sociality and dehumanization. The lack of protection is a sign of transition to the metric rationality of the culture of control, which increases the inanity of the forms and meanings of human existence simplifying it to an adaptation formula. The nature of the lack of protection is not metric, but an internal process that leads away from the adaptive logic of protection to the depth of understanding the limits of its probability in practice. The quality of this level of reflection is not determined by the pressure of changes, but is formed in the creation of thought and the upbringing of will within the social whole.

Stabilization of situation can be achieved by improvement of the quality of content posted in the social media, as well as level of their administration.

As a result of social changes in society in Western Europe at the end of the 20th century, it was recognised that a new perspective on interpreting science was needed. For a long time, community interpreting was ignored or considered inferior in comparison to the dominant interpreting mode, namely, conference interpreting. Intensifying trade contacts and labour migration within the European Union have, in combination with the current influx of refugees, led to a high demand for interpreting services in the field of social and legal interpreting. Additionally, there is only a limited number of qualified interpreters available on the market, especially in combinations of less widely-spoken languages. The lack of qualified community interpreters and translators has direct consequences for delays in the functioning of certain government bodies and social services. The same applies to the quality of healthcare provided and to the social climate. Increasing the scale of interpreting and translation assignments, changing the professional profile of the interpreter and raising the demand for the provision of language services in specific language combinations are clear signals for small philological departments to offer their students the opportunity to specialise in this area. For this reason, two projects are presented in this article, both of which aim at promoting know-how in the field of social interpreters and at developing modules in social interpreting and translation.

Taking care of a dependent relative entails different physical, psychological and social changes for caregivers. One of the most affected aspects is the social network and support, due to the lack of opportunities for leisure activities, impossibility to go out to work and changes in family routines. Social support also could act as a moderator when it affects caregiver’s quality of life by altering the direction and/or strength of the relation between the caregiver and his/her quality of life. Thus, social support to caregivers helps them to deal with their quality of life in a positive manner. Quality of life is a person’s perceived assessment of his/her own well-being. This includes emotional, social, and physical aspects of the individual’s life.. The social support scale and WHO quality of life brief questionnaire was administered on care givers of drug addicted people to collect data. T-test and Pearson product moment co-efficient of correlation were used for data analysis. The obtained result revealed significance difference between male and female caregivers of drug addicted people on social support and quality of life and the relationship between social support and quality of life was found significantly positive.

Today’s concepts, theories and methodology of classical political economy, economics in general, state and economic governance clearly demonstrate their unsoundness in resolving issues of rational organization of public reproduction by levels of economic management. They are characterized by the subjective-contract and dogmatic tool and the relevant theory of cognition, which are aimed at retaining the discriminative-degrading, religiouspolitical initial model of man and society vital functions in nature, i. e. ‘Tyrant – Victim’. Their alternative is the system-integrated inter-disciplinary methodology providing the development of scientific, objective economic theory, rational practice of state and economic governance of public production, which excludes political mongering, subjectivism and voluntarism. The current internal and external situation in Russia shows that neither traditional public sciences and their leading academics, nor state bodies and their advisers-scientists, nor politicians can produce a variant of further positive development of society and production for the near future. An additional set of notions, categories and tools of cognition supplementary to the traditional one was designed on the basis of approaches put forward by supporters of classical political-economic, biosphere, noosphere and fundamental sciences. It does not reject the accumulated experience, which can be adapted, concretize and correct to improve the quality of research in accordance with the extended totality of objective general, social and economic laws of man and society development in nature.

Ecotourism was developed as an economic alternative to part of the resident population of the Mamirauá Sustainable Development Reserve in Amazonas, Brazil. Its objective was to decrease pressure on natural resources, incentive conservation and improve the quality of life of local people. This study aimed to investigate the social changes promoted by ecotourism in two villages in the area. Combinations of qualitative and quantitative methods were used, such as participant observation, oral history, as well as structured interviews and descriptive statistical analysis. The study showed that, although the activity was not designed to substitute more traditional economic activities, with the increase in revenue generated by ecotourism, the opportunity costs of agricultural activity was raised, and therefore there was a decrease in the production of manioc flour for consumption in some young families involved with ecotourism.

The aim of the article is to show the relationship between the aspirations to improve the quality of life and improve social relations and the undertakings serving the renovation of urban spaces. In the first part of the text—after formulating more general remarks about the social significance of space—a few of the concepts of town modernization implemented in the modern history of the developed world (Cerdá, Haussmann, Le Corbusier) are presented, while pointing out their most often ambivalent social results. Attention to the latter has been paid by, among others, critics of modernism and supporters of alternative visions (Jacobs, representatives of the new urbanism, advocates of the ideas of a socially cohesive or fair-shared city, etc.). As the national empirical illustration, the author then characterizes the case of urban and social changes taking place in the last two decades in the Powiśle district of Warsaw. Their effect, regardless of the general benefits of modernization and the desired and long-awaited approximation of the capital to the river, are also controversial, often critically evaluated gentrification processes.
