Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the satisfaction of professors with the short-term course of medical education at Birjand University of Medical Sciences during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Initially, needs assessment was conducted for the content of the course; after determining the content, the course was held online through Adobe Connect system and offline through Navid system. Following completing the course, evaluation was performed, and finally, satisfaction with the course was assessed based on a 34-item questionnaire whose validity and reliability were established. In total, 44 participants in the course answered the questionnaire. The data were analyzed using t-test and correlation coefficient by SPSS, version 18. Results: The mean age of the participants was 36.34 ± 5.64 years, and 56.8% (25 people) were female. In terms of academic rank, 75% were assistant professors. The average score of satisfaction was equal to 140.48, which indicates a high score of satisfaction with the course. In general, the score of satisfaction was higher than average in all fields. The average score of satisfaction in men was significantly lower than in women (P < 0.001). There was no significant relationship between satisfaction and degree, academic rank, age, and working experience (P > 0.05). Conclusions: Professors’ satisfaction with the online and offline medical education courses in the relevant systems is at a high level. Thus, it is suggested that combined in-person and online empowerment courses should be held in the post-COVID-19 era.

Abstract Objectives : In this cross-sectional study among 220 medical students we aimed to determine the nutritional knowledge and attitude of medical students through clinical training courses (externship and internship) of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Iran. A nutritional knowledge questionnaire included 51 questions was used to determine the correct, perceived and accuracy of knowledge of the participant in different aspects of nutrition sciences. Nutritional knowledge was calculated as percentage of correct responses. The nutrition attitude questionnaire included 30 questions. Both questionnaires were confirmed in terms of the validity and reliability for assessing nutritional knowledge and attitude in this sample of Iranian medical students. Results: The mean score of correct knowledge was not significantly different among externs and interns (68.20±7.50% and 67.87±6.04% respectively, p=0.729). Results showed that most of the participants (49.61% of externs and 57.14% of inters) had a poor nutritional knowledge, significantly varied by age (p=0.035). The mean attitude index of the subjects was not significantly different among externs and interns (106.37±13.66 and 108.16±13.35 out of 145 respectively, p=0.337). Most students (92.7%) had a very appropriate attitude toward nutrition, significantly varied by sex (p=0.010). These findings indicate that there are multiple deficiencies in nutrition knowledge of medical students.

Introduction: Quality of life (QOL) is an important index in society that need for evaluation in all age groups people especially in medical university students as a people that their physical and mental health is related with community health. This study aims to investigate the quality of life (QOL) of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that has been conducted on 200 students who selected by random sampling method from Ardabil medical university students. The QOL was measured by WHOQOL-BREF which its validity and Reliability were investigated and approved. This questionnaire include 26 questions in four dimensions (physical, mental, social and environmental health). Collected data we analyzed by statistical test such as t-test for compare the mean of QOL score among demographic data. Results: Of all students, 57% were male and 91.5% were single. Of all students, 56% had desired quality of life. The relationships between QOL and variables such as gender, educational level, marital status and age of students wasn’t significant. The mean difference of four dimension scores among two sexes was statistically significant. The mean of Physical health dimension score was 11.6±2.1, Psychological was 12.3±2.4, Social relationships was 13.1±3.4 and environment was 12.7±3.2. The mean of total score of QOL in all students was 12.4±2.3. Conclusion: Results showed that the QOL of all students were in high level and in four dimension of QOL the female students had significant higher score than male students.

Objective Stroke is one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity worldwide. Stroke patients require longterm care for better outcome. Most often family members are the back bone of the service provided to people affected by stroke. Stroke patients and their caregivers are known to have large gaps in stroke knowledge and have suboptimal personal health behaviors, thereby putting the patient at high risk for complications. Our study was designed to explore the stroke care awareness among stroke patients' caregivers.Methods 50 stroke caregivers aged >18 years from neurology ward of College of Medical Sciences-Teaching Hospital were selected by non-probability purposive sampling from June 2012 to July 2012. Questionnaire focusing basic stroke care was prepared by researchers with the help of literature and a neurophysician. Validity and reliability of the tools were tested and data collected. Analysis of collected data was done using SPSS 16.0.Results The mean age of the respondents was 40 years (range: 20-80 years). Thirty-nine (78%) were either spouse or children. Thirty-eight (76%) caregivers were literate. Overall, 27 (54%) caregivers had low level of awareness regarding stroke care and mean knowledge score was 23.7.Conclusion This study has revealed the existence of low level of stroke care awareness amongst stroke caregivers. Interventional education program oriented to address this important yet neglected area can improve the stroke care in countries like Nepal where recent advancement for stroke management is lacking.  Journal of College of Medical Sciences-Nepal, 2013, Vol-9, No-3, 1-8

Background: The development of critical thinking skills and disposition in universities is an important goal of education. Evaluation of critical thinking disposition and its influential factors as a competency of faculty members has attracted the attention of educational experts. Objectives: The present study aimed to assess the critical thinking disposition of the pharmacy faculty members of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Iran in 2018. Methods: In this descriptive, cross-sectional study, data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of two sections. The first section included demographic variables, and the second section was Ricketts critical thinking disposition inventory. The questionnaire was provided to 41 faculty members, and 36 questionnaires were completed and returned. Data analysis was performed in SPSS version 18 using t-test and Pearson's correlation-coefficient. Results: The mean score of the critical thinking disposition of the participants was 134.41 out of 165. No significant difference was observed in the mean score of critical thinking disposition in terms of gender and academic rank. Moreover, no significant correlations were denoted between the critical thinking disposition, age, and work experience of the faculty members. Conclusion: Due to the educational role of faculty members and the necessity of developing critical thinking skills in universities, continuous training must be implemented for faculty members for familiarization with various aspects of critical thinking and the required teaching strategies, followed by the promotion of these skills in students.

The article highlights the main events in the life of the famous scientist, lists the main achievements and scientific achievements. The life and scientific activities of Anatoly Andreevich are inextricably linked with the Crimean Medical Institute (University), within the walls of which the future professor first received a higher medical education, and then, after years of successful scientific activity, headed the university as a rector for many years. Thanks to the talented leadership, the Crimean Medical University has reached a high level of scientific and technological develop- ment and international recognition. For long productive work and scientific achievements, Professor A.A. Babanin awarded numerous government and international awards and titles, and currently continues active work for the benefit of higher medical education in Crimea.

The objective of this research was to examine the factors affecting the decision of choosing the Tabung Haji Service center in Malaysia. Questionnaires were used for data collection. The sample groups were individuals living in the state of Kedah, Malaysia. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean () , standard deviation (SD), and comparison test (t). -test) and one-way ANOVA analysis. It found most of them were male who are under 25 years old. They were single and hold undergraduate education. Their monthly average income was between RM1,201- RM2,000. The overall results of marketing mix factors were at a high level ( = 4.301 S.D. = 0.493). When sorted by the importance that the process aspect and the people aspect, they were at the most important level with the average score of 4.658 4.555 and standard deviation 0.435 0.445 respectively. The physical evidence, price, promotion, place, and product were at a high level. The mean score was 4.246, 4.236, 4.187, 4.133, 4.095 and the standard deviation were at 0.95, 0.363, 0.549, 0.580, 0.569, 0.514, respectively. There were significant influence of age, educational level, and monthly average income on the market mix factors of customers’ decision to selecting Tabung Haji Service Center in Malaysia at a statistically significant level of 0.05.

Introduction: In patients who are not able to feed the mouth, but the digestive system has the ability to digest food, enteral feeding is used. This method is safe and affordable for the patient, leading to maintaining the function of the digestive system, reducing the risk of infection and sepsis. However, failure to properly implement this type of feeding causes problems such as pneumonia aspiration, infection, diarrhea, blockage of the enteral feeding, and if the above feeding method is implemented in accordance with its standard, it can play a major role in reducing the burden of complications and improving the quality of life, reducing the length of hospitalization, and reducing their costs. Method: This is a cross-sectional descriptive-analytic study. The researchers studied 37 nurses working in general and nervous wards who fed patients with gastrostomy. The checklist that was verified in terms of validity and reliability was used to collect information. For data analysis, descriptive statistics (frequency and mean) and inferential statistics (paired t-test, Spearman correlation coefficient, analysis of variance with repeated observations) were used. Results: The results showed that the mean score of actions in all stages (before, during, after implementation) was significantly lower than standard (p<0.001). There was also a reverse relationship between the score of actions in all three stages (before, during, after implementation) with work experience and duration of work experience in the section. There was also a significant difference between the mean score of actions in all three stages between female and male (p-value -0.331), so that the average score of female was higher than that of male. Also, there was a significant difference between the mean score of the actions in all three stages and the employment status of the samples. The mean score of informal people was higher than the official ones. Conclusion: According to the findings, the mean score of the measures before, during and after the implementation of feeding through gastrostomy was significantly lower than the standard (p<0.001), to enteral  feeding a gynecologist at gastre and intrology, a clinical nurse and a nutritionist should educate patients and their families and personnel about the preparation and storage of food, the administration of food, the care of the entrance of the enteral  and the enteral  feeding, in light of the problems and complications of this type of feeding [1,2]. Based on the findings of the present study, nurses' retraining, especially men nurses, nurses with more work experience and formal nurses in the field of proper nursing clinical skills such as this type of feeding is needed.

Background and Aim: Classroom management has a significant impact on controlling and managing student behavior. The management of the classroom is an art and a science. The present study set to investigate the status of classroom management styles and types of undesirable educational behaviors among students of Zahedan University of Medical Sciences. Methods and Materials: In this descriptive study, 300 students were selected by stratified random sampling to study a variety of undesirable behaviors in an academic setting. Also, 100 faculty members from Zahedan University of Medical Sciences participated in the study to explore classroom management styles. Classroom management style inventory designed by Amini et al. (2014) were used. The self-administered questionnaire about undesirable educational behaviors was used to gather data. The validity and reliability of both instruments have confirmed .The data were analyzed in SPSS software version 16. Results: The findings showed that the faculty members’ average score of class management is 45.16 out of 100 , which indicates that the faculty members of this university have an interactive style. Also, the average score of undesirable educational behaviors was obtained 71.21. out of 135. Conclusion: Based on the findings of research on the use of interactive styles by faculty members, it is recommended to prepare training workshops for university professors. In order to reduce the undesirable educational behaviors of students at the beginning of the semester and upon entering the university, justification classes should be hold to control various educational behaviors and misbehaviors and management classes should be hold by cultural and social officials of university and oblige students to participate in such classes. Abstract Background: Spirituality and spiritual health are important concepts among human societies, and the relation of these concepts to other scientific ones is important for health professionals. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between spiritual well-being and happiness among the students of health sciences of Guilan University of Medical Sciences. Methods: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive-analytic study carried out among 322 students through census sampling method. The Spiritual Health Questionnaire (SWBS) was made by Pulotsin and Ellison in 1982 and used to measure spiritual well-being. Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHI) was used to measure happiness designed in 2007 by Argyle. Validity and reliability of two questionnaires are higher than 0.90. Cronbach's alpha in each dimension of spiritual well-being and also happiness in the present study was higher than 0.7. Results : The mean and standard deviation of spiritual health were 55.82±4.71 and the mean and standard deviation of students' happiness was 60.88+-12.9. There is no statistical correlation between spiritual health with any of the demographic variables. It means that the average spiritual health is not significantly different at different ages or between single students and married students. Conclusion: The results showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between spiritual well-being and happiness. Also, there is a meaningful relationship between all aspects of spiritual health with happiness. The findings of this research illustrate the happiness is reduced by increasing the average age.
