The experiential learning process is a relevant method used to enhance understanding of the field and the critical thinking skills of learners. Futher more, technological developments improve students ’ learning needs. In this case, learners are required to be able to learn and work dynamically by combining the concept of critical thinking and the way of life as demand for the 21st century. Therefore, dynamic learning and the ability to improve the cognitive and collaborative abilities of learners in their interactions with the environment and all changes are indispensable. This research aims to spread the educational game quiz Assistance to create fun and dynamic learning for students. In addition, developed media is expected to improve cognitive ability and critical thinking learners, especially in higher education. The development of this educational game is done in the economic field so that the material to be presented is a basic course of economics faculty. To measure the success of this game-based learning, researchers used 100 samples from three majors (development economics, management, and accounting). This method of analysis uses the method of gain-scores, where the learning outcomes of experimental Group with learning game treatment and control group learning outcomes are examined and analyzed to determine their effectiveness. Results from analyses showed that use of game- based learning is highly effective for improving learning outcomes. Keywords: Technology, educational game, game based learning, gamification Learning.

This research aims to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning using puzzle media on students' critical thinking. The study population was all grade VII students at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Bandar Lampung totaling 192 people. The research sample was students from 2 classes, namely class VII D and VII F who were selected from the population by using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used a pretest-posttest sheet. The design used is the nonequivalent control group design. The data analysis used t-test with a significance of 5%. The results showed a sig significance value. (2-tailed) 0.13 <0.05, which means that the n-Gain mean of critical thinking learning outcomes of students between the experimental class and the control class is significantly different. Thus, it is known that the problem-based learning model using puzzle media can affect the critical thinking skills of students.

Utilization of Problem Based Learning models assisted by learning media to improve critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students have not run optimally. This study aims to determine the differences in critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students with Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning models assisted by audio-visual media in SMA Negeri 06 Bengkulu City. The research method used was quasi-experimental with a randomized pretest-posttest control group design. The study population was students of class XI SMA Negeri 06 Bengkulu City with two sample groups namely experiment and control with 36 people each. The instrument used, namely essay question test totaling 5 questions that measure critical thinking and multiple-choice questions totaling 10 questions to measure cognitive learning outcomes. The research data analysis technique used a t-test. The results showed that there were differences in critical thinking skills and student cognitive learning outcomes. This is evident from the t-count value of critical thinking skills of 6.414 (> t-table) and cognitive learning outcomes of 5.826 (> t-table). This research concludes that there are differences in critical thinking skills and cognitive learning outcomes of students with PBL models assisted by audio-visual media.

Critical thinking skill plays an important role in achieving maximum learning outcomes. The lack of involvement in critical thinking skills activities impacts students’ learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze whether the ICARE learning model application combined with constructivism-based learning modules can improve students' critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. The research method is an experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. This study was conducted in MAN 4 Aceh Selatan and MAS Ashhabul Yamin Aceh Selatan during the even semester (2020/2021 Academic Year) with the population of 196 students of science class XI. The research sample was 119 students, namely the experimental group 58 and the control group 60. The parameters measured are critical thinking skills and learning outcomes. Data on critical thinking skills and learning outcomes were analyzed by parametric statistics using an independent sample t test, while to observe the correlation of critical thinking skills with learning outcomes was conducted through correlation and regression analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes after being taught using the application of the ICARE learning model combined with constructivism-based learning modules on the respiratory system material. The correlation coefficient obtained is 0.832 which indicates there is a positive relationship between critical thinking skills and learning outcomes with strong interpretations. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the ICARE learning model combined with constructivism-based learning modules can improve students’ critical thinking skills and learning outcomes on respiratory system material. Keywords: ICARE, Constructivism, Critical Thinking Skill, Learning Outcomes.

This study is motivated by the low critical thinking skills and learning outcomes possessed by the students of VII grade of SMPN 14 Kendari. This study aims to determine the enhancement in critical thinking skills and learning outcomes on the subject Matter of Heat and Its Transfer. The population of this study were all students of VII grade of SMPN 14 Kendari who were registered in the odd semester in 2019/2020 school year, with total 204 students. The sample of this research was group VII3 with total 41 students as the experimental group and group VII4 with total 41 students as the control group who were taken by using random sampling techniques. The research data were analysed by using descriptive and inferential statistics. Research results show: 1) There is no significant difference between the pre-test average scores of students critical thinking skills in the experimental group and the control group; 2) There is no significant difference between the pre-test average scores of the experimental group students and the control group; 3) The post-test average score of students from critical thinking skills in the experimental group was significantly higher than in the control group; 4) The post-test average score of the experimental group students was significantly higher than in the control group; 5) The average value of N-gain critical thinking skills of students in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group; 6) ) The average value of N-gain learning outcomes of students in the experimental group was significantly higher than the control group.

The purpose of this study is to determie the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) on learning outcomes through critical thinking. This research is quasi experimental with posttest only control group design. Analysis of data using Two Way Anova. The result of this research shows that (1) There is a difference between students who are taught by using teaching model PBL and students who are not taught by using teaching model PBL. (2) There is a difference in learning outcomes between high critical thinking skills with low critical thinking skills. This study aims to determine the effect of metacognitive strategiy on critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in human digestive system material at SMAN 5 and SMAN 12 in Banda Aceh. This research was conducted in the second semester of the 2018/2019. The method used in this study is Experimental with the Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The subjects of the study were all students of class XI IPA in both SMAN 5 and SMAN 12 Banda Aceh. The students of SMAN 5 from class IPA 4 was used as the control class meanwhile students from class IPA 2 as the experimental class. Students in SMAN 12 from class IPA 1 was used as control class meanwhile students from class IPA 2 as the experimental class. Data analysis was carried out by normality, homogeneity and t-test. The results showed that the use of metacognitive strategiy had an effect on students' critical thinking abilities, this can be seen from the results of the t-test in SMAN 5, namely t-hit 15,59 > t-tab 1,64 and in SMAN 12 namely t- hit 15,32 > t-tab 1,645, as well as influencing the cognitive learning outcomes of students, seen in the results of the t-test in SMAN 5 namely 10,07 > t-tab 1,64 and in SMAN 12 which is 3,68 > t-tab 1,64. The conclusion is that the use of metacognitive strategiy influences critical thinking skills and student learning outcomes in SMAN 5 and SMAN 12 in Banda Aceh.

The challenges of 21st century globalization require students to have various skills needed in compete at the global level. One of the 21st century skills students need to have is critical thinking skills, but student’s critical thinking skills in Indonesia are still relatively low. To develop this skill, learning is needed along with appropriate assessment. The application of formative assessment in learning is one of the efforts in developing the skill. Through formative assessment, teacher can make appropriate learning strategies to facilitate student learning needs. However, the practice of assessment for learning rarely facilitates student learning needs. Thus, this study was needed for investigating the effect of formative assessment in develop critical thinking skill of students. The quasy experiment method is used in this study with the pretest posttest control group design. The experimental group was given the application of formative assessment through oral feedback during learning, while the control group was given the conventional assessment. The result showed that formative assessment through oral feedback can develop critical thinking skill of students, indicated by the experimental group has higher critical thinking skill improvement than control groups in Spermatophyta and Bryophyta chapter.

Electrolyte and nonelectrolyte based discovery modules are available learning is valid and practical, but has not been tested its effectiveness. Therefore the study aims to reveal the effectiveness of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte solution modules on students' learning outcomes and critical thinking skills. The module effectiveness test is done through quasi experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design design. Research population of all students of class X MIPA SMAN 2 Bukittinggi. The sample was taken by purposive random cluster sampling technique.. The research instrument used in the form of learning result test and critical thinking skill assessment sheet. Techniques of data analysis of learning outcomes by using SPSS 16 software and critical thinking skills with percentage techniques. Based on the result of the research, it is found that the experimental class N-gain (0.76) is higher than control class (0.67). The data analysis technique showed that the experimental and control classes were normally distributed and had homogeneous variance, so the t-test was performed. From the result of t-test analysis obtained (sig) 0.006 &lt;0.05 which indicates that experiment class learning outcomes are significantly higher than control class. Based on the data analysis of students critical thinking skills, the average score of students' critical thinking skills is 87%. The research findings show that the use of electrolyte and nonelectrolyte based discovery modules learning effective on student learning outcomes and critical thinking skills at SMAN 2 Bukittinggi

Metacognition skills enable students to develop into independent learners because they are the managers and assessors of their own thinking and learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of metacognition strategies on learning outcomes and students' critical thinking skills on the subject of human circulatory system in SMA Negeri Trumon, South Aceh Regency. The method used in this study was True Experimentation with the form of Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The sample selection was conducted by random sampling. The population in this study were 223 students with a sample size 150. Data collection techniques on learning outcomes and critical thinking skills were carried out by providing pre-tests and post-tests in the form of objective tests. The learning outcomes and critical thinking skills was analyzed using N-Gain. N-Gain value for learning outcomes in experimental class (67,16) > N-Gain control class (51,57). The conclusion of this study is that the metacognition strategy influences the learning outcomes and critical thinking skills of students on the human circulatory system subject at SMAN Trumon, South Aceh District.

This study aims to determine the effect of structured inquiry learning model with scientific approach on student’s critical thinking skills and physics learning outcomes of class X in SMAN 1 Gerung in academic year 2014/2015. The study uses a quasi experiment with design untreated control group design with pretest and posttest. The sample was selected by clauster random sampling and obtained class X-3 as the experiment class using structured inquiry learning model with scientific approach and class X-6 as the control class using expository learning model. Data post-test were tested for normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis test. Hypothesis test using t-test polled variance with 5% of significance level. The results of the study were obtained: (1) there was the effect of structured inquiry learning model with scientific approach on student’s critical thinking skills and (2) there was the effect of structured inquiry learning model with scientific approach on student’s physics learning outcomes  This indicates that the structured inquiry learning model with scientific approach is better than the expository learning model. Expected to do further research on structured inquiry learning model with scientific approach that measure the other of higher order thinking skills.
