As competition becomes increasingly fierce, how to integrate the concept of information technology involvement into total quality management activities and better serve the customers, thus increasing the effectiveness of their services, has become an important focus for many tourism factories in their selection of an appropriate operational strategy. With the tourism factories in Taiwan as the subjects, this study was therefore set out to investigate the impact of operational strategies, information technology involvement and motivation on the executive degree of total quality management (TQM) activities, as well as the correlation between the executive degree of TQM activities and operational performance. This research was conducted from March to April 2016 using 56 effective questionnaires through a questionnaire survey method. According to the research findings, the higher the executive degree of TQM activities was, the more significant a positive impact it would have on operational performance; the execution of differentiation strategies would have a positive impact on the execution of TQM activities; the more a company was involved in information technology, the more significant a positive impact it would have on the execution of TQM activities; the higher the intrinsic motivation was, the more significant a positive impact it would have on the executive degrees of TQM activities. It is therefore advisable for tourism factories to implement TQM activities, adopt differentiation strategies, seek greater information technology involvement and become more strongly motivated toward TQM implementation in order to improve operational performance.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of hard total quality management (TQM) practices on operational performance dimensions in manufacturing organizations.Design/methodology/approachThe study was designed in the Jordanian manufacturing sector. Organizations that are familiar with hard TQM practices specifically that had already implemented ISO 9001 certificate were randomly surveyed through structured questionnaire, yielded a sample of 40 responding organizations. Principal component factor analysis was used to analyze hard TQM practices implementation and organizations operational performance dimensions. As a result, specific hard TQM practices and operational performance dimensions were extracted. The hard TQM practices that significantly influence operational performance dimensions were tested using simple and multiple linear regression analysis.FindingsThe research findings showed that hard TQM practices in manufacturing sector include; continuous improvement, statistical process control (SPC), process management and quality tools and techniques. Meanwhile, operational performance dimensions include; quality and inventory management performance. Also, the findings showed that continuous improvement and SPC practices play a major role in obtaining the desired results of operational performance.Research limitations/implicationsThree limitations can be identified in this research, using subjective measures of TQM practices and operational performance, low response rate and using a sample of organizations from various industries. This paper can help Jordanian manufacturing organizations to foster proper practices and make the right decisions related to operational performance.Originality/valueThis study describes a reliable hard TQM model that can be used by manufacturing organizations to improve their operational performance. Also, the results of this study contribute to prior literature and recommend some best practices for manufacturing organizations.

As we know the main value to be achieved by a company is to meet the desires of its customers. Total Quality Management represents the creation of value by basing on the quality provided to consumers, while the Just In Time creating value based on a given speed. Manufacturing industry is an industry that is becoming an important part of the national economy, but some manufacturing companies in Indonesia implementing TQM and JIT just still a concept. This study tries to analyze the impact of the implementation of Total Quality Management and Just In Time for Delivery Performance. The variables used in this study include Total Quality Management and Just In Time as anindependent variable, and Delivery Performance as the dependent variable. The research methodology used in this study is a survey method using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. This study used a sample 6 manufacturing company located in Bogor and Tangerang. The results of the analysis using regression model showed that Total Quality Management and Just In Time has a significant impact on Delivery Performance.

Bearing in mind the environmental corrosion primarily triggered by the service sector, as well as the lack of studies detecting the factors that enable an organization to deal with this concern, the aim of this study is to analyze the impact of total quality management (TQM) practices on corporate green performance (CGP) and to investigate the causal relationship between total quality management practices and corporate green performance. This research also explores the mediating role of organizational culture (OC) within the relationship between TQM practices and CGP. In particular, this study is based on the MBNQA model, institutional theory, and green theory. The researchers collected data from 369 participants across 123 large and medium-sized private firms in the health sector in Pakistan. The structural analyses revealed the significant and positive impact of TQM practices on CGP. This demonstrates that TQM practices substantially augment organizational competencies to achieve green performance objectives. TQM practices have also had a positive and significant impression on organizational culture; furthermore, a parallel impact is seen between OC and CGP. Finally, OC is shown to have positively and significantly mediated the relationship between TQM and CGP. This study’s contextual analysis suggests that TQM is an equally important factor in accomplishing CGP objectives for both large and medium-sized firms.

This study aims to prove the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) and organizational commitment in supporting the achievement of company operational performance. The population was all Convection SMEs in the city of Banda Aceh, consisted of 294 Convection SMEs. The sample was selected using a proportional sampling technique where sampling considers elements or categories in the study population. The sample taken was 15% of the population. One respondent represented one unit of SMEs, so the sample has amounted to 169 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires. The model was analyzed with the Structural Equation Model Analysis. The result showed an influence between TQM on Organizational Commitment, TQM on Company Operational Performance, and Organizational Commitment on Company Operational Performance. This study also found that organizational commitment can act as a partial mediator to strengthen the effect of TQM on Company operational performance. The interesting issue in this study lies in the discussion of the organizational commitment to solving the inconsistency problems in the quality of convection production in SMEs. Furthermore, the other researchers can provide more concepts and variables to enrich this research model, like other mediators for TQM to achieve performance or even the commitment that can strengthen the TQM and performance. The model also can be a reference for practitioners to set their strategy in further, to go more productive.

The aim of the study is find out the impact of applying different total quality management (TQM) practices on the performance of employees in the Lebanese industrial sector. The implementation of total quality management in Lebanese companies is very narrow where few companies work to apply Total Quality Management elements and concepts in its operations. Sanita is a Lebanese company that has applied the principles of total quality management relatively in all of its operations, so it has a large share of its products in the Lebanese market. In this quantitative survey designed study, 160 self-administered questionnaires were distributed for employees working at different career level (Top level management / Middle level management / Supervisor / Operator /technician / other workers) in Sanita main branch (Halat -Lebanon) and Sanita factory (Zouk Mosbeh -Lebanon). The survey concluded various questions related to the dependent variable employee performance and the independent variable related to practices of total quality management (leadership, teamwork, training and education, empowerment, communication). Using the quantitative correlation Pearson test, a strong influence emerged for the implementation of TQM principles on the performance of employees at Sanita and its factories; thus accepting the main alternative hypothesis.
