This study aims to prove the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) and organizational commitment in supporting the achievement of company operational performance. The population was all Convection SMEs in the city of Banda Aceh, consisted of 294 Convection SMEs. The sample was selected using a proportional sampling technique where sampling considers elements or categories in the study population. The sample taken was 15% of the population. One respondent represented one unit of SMEs, so the sample has amounted to 169 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires. The model was analyzed with the Structural Equation Model Analysis. The result showed an influence between TQM on Organizational Commitment, TQM on Company Operational Performance, and Organizational Commitment on Company Operational Performance. This study also found that organizational commitment can act as a partial mediator to strengthen the effect of TQM on Company operational performance. The interesting issue in this study lies in the discussion of the organizational commitment to solving the inconsistency problems in the quality of convection production in SMEs. Furthermore, the other researchers can provide more concepts and variables to enrich this research model, like other mediators for TQM to achieve performance or even the commitment that can strengthen the TQM and performance. The model also can be a reference for practitioners to set their strategy in further, to go more productive.

The study intended to investigate the factors that affect the total quality management (TQM) process in the 1,800 firm Thai auto parts industry. Automotive parts export shipments from Thailand are ranked 13th globally and are destined for over 100 countries, with Thailand’s combined automotive industry representing 12% of GDP. Therefore, with the authors understanding the importance of this economic sector, a research tool was developed, which contained a five-level scale to investigate 455 auto parts managers, executives, and owners’ opinions. Topics surveyed included the respondents’ opinions on the effects of knowledge management (KNG), product quality (QLY), strategic planning (STY), and technology and innovation (TIN) on the Thai auto part industry TQM process. The study’s eight hypotheses made use LISREL 9.1 software to analyze the final structural equation model (SEM). Results showed that all the model's variables had a positive influence on TQM, which can be combined to explain the variance of the factors affecting TQM (R2) by 78%. Additionally, the variables affecting TQM ranked in importance were STY, KNG, QLY, and TIN. Disruptive change has also arrived within the automotive sector, as Industry 4.0 technologies, the Internet of Things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI) are being used in the development of a new generation of autonomous and electric vehicles (EVs), making many current manufacturers' technologies and processes obsolete. Therefore, management and vendors must embrace these changes for their survival. The study's results highlight the necessity for international firms to embrace innovation and technological change to retain a competitive advantage or even their survival. Governments and educational institutions must also go the ‘extra mile' to support their domestic automotive and auto parts sectors.

The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the role of Total Quality Management (TQM) on business performance in various dimensions. This study proposes a conceptual model that intends to study several research hypotheses. The data were obtained through an online questionnaire, sent to pharmaceutical companies manufactured generic products in Indonesia. The study was conducted based on responses received from 168 valid questionnaires, and it was used partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to test the hypotheses. Furthermore, we use both of reflective and formative construct with second order/higher order construct in our model of study which is rarely found in the previous study. This research analyzed the dimensions studied in different aspects. TQM variable consists of seven practice, namely management commitment, supplier quality, employee involvement, leadership management, customer orientation, continuous improvement and quality management system, and with respect to business performance, this variable was analyzed through four different perspectives, namely, financial, customer, internal business process and learning & growth. The findings indicate that companies adopt total quality management get improvement in their business performance. Leadership management has greater effect on the successful of TQM practice compared to other TQM dimensions. This study also provides a particular contribution for the companies and expect to be used as feedback related to the execution of their TQM implementation to improve their business performance. Organizations are operating in an environment characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. In such an environment an organization can attain sustained competitive advantage only through innovation. Innovation performance is the only effective yardstick that differentiates an ordinary organization from a world class one. Knowledge management is the process of creation and application of knowledge required for the attainment of organizational objectives. Total quality management stresses on continuous improvement to achieve organizational effectiveness. Despite the popularity of knowledge management, total quality management and innovation performance, empirical studies about the relationship between these variables is scant especially in Indian context. Present study attempted to find out the collective impact of knowledge management and total quality management on innovation performance in Indian IT industry. Data were collected from 219 employees working in 15 large IT organizations in Kerala by using simple random sampling technique. Results established that knowledge management and total quality management individually as well as collectively impact innovation performance. The significant influence on innovation performance is more when knowledge management and total quality management were combined. Results sensitize managers to create a differentiated management architecture that supports both knowledge management and total quality management simultaneously to foster innovation.
