The current  study was aimed to find out whether the developing business letter writing materials through peer editing technique  were valid, practical and had potential effect for the management students of Faculty of Economics at Tridinanti University of Palembang. Developmental research proposed by Akker  i.e analysis, design, evaluation and revision was applied in this study. In the evaluation phase, formative evaluation model proposed by Tressmer was used (i.eself evaluation, expert review, one to one small group and field test). There were 3 students participating in one to one evaluation, 9 students in small group and one class (34 students) i field test. There were also two validators in reviewing the developing business letter writing materials through peer editing technique . One was expert of content and another one was expert in  instructional design. The result of experts judgement showed that the product was valid with average score was 89.2 categorized in good validity. The product was practical with average score in one to one evaluation was 84.3 and in small group phase was 86.8. the effectiveness of the product could be seen from the average score of students’achievement in field test. The score was 92.8 meaning that the score was higher than the criterion of minimal mastery (KKM) of developing business letter writing materials through peer editing technique. Therefore, the product had potential effect categorized in very good level.It could be used for the better improvement and contribution in the field of ESP language teaching and learning.

The purpose of this study was to find out the validity, practicality, and potential effect of the developed interactive multimedia for teaching descriptive texts based on Palembang local culture. With Research and Development (R&D) study, this research procedure was adapted from ADDIE model consisted of five phases, i.e. analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In evaluation phase, formative evaluation which consisted of self-evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. Formative evaluation was conducted to see the validity, practicality, and potential effect of the product. Validity was evaluated in expert review phase for its content, construct, and media. Based on experts review the result showed that the average score of all aspects of the developed product was 3.58 which can be categorized as very highly valid. The practicality was evaluated in one to one evaluation and small group evaluation. The result showed that the product was very highly practical since the average score in both phases were 3.69 and 3.74 respectively. The potential effect was evaluated in the field test. The product also had very high potential effect after being tried out in the field test as 100 % of the students achieved the minimum mastery criterion which was 75. In conclusion, the developed product was potentially effective to be applied for the tenth grade students.Keywords: development research; interactive multimedia; descriptive texts; Palembang local culture

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan soal matematika model PISA konten Space and Shape yang valid dan praktis melihat prosedur pengembangan soal dan mengukur kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian ini memerlukan dua tahap yaitu preliminary dan tahap formative evaluation yang meliputi self evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, dan field test. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berdasarkan walktrough, dokumen, tes dan angket. Setelah melalui tahap one-to-one, small group, dan validasi secara deskriptif, soal diujicobakan pada tahap field test di kelas VIII SMP N 1 Padangsidimpuan. Hasil tes secara keseluruhan dengan nilai rata-rata kemapuan penalaran matematis 56,07, termasuk pada kategori kemampuan penalaran matematis yang cukup, walaupun masih ada siswa yang masuk pada kategori kemampuan penalaran kurang. Dari hasil ini juga dapat dikatakan bahwa soal serupa PISA yang dikembangkan dikategorikan dalam kriteria valid dan praktis serta memiliki efek potensial terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.

The study aims at producing the valid, practical, interactive and potential multimedia to teach science to students achievement at the fifth grade elementary school in Lubuklinggau. The procedure of the study was through Rowntree model including three steps, namely planning, developing and evaluation.  The evaluation stepnm used was Tessmer formative evaluation. The result of the material, media and design validation showed that interactive multimedia was valid. In one-to-one test,  the students respond positively toward the interactive multimedia. In tryout step on the small group, it categorized as practical. In the field test, it was categorised as medium with score 79,11. It can be concluded that interactive multimedia was developed in the study was valid,  practical and potential on students science learning achievement at the Elementary School. Abstract: This study aims to produce an andragogy-based English module that is valid, practical and has a potential effect on student learning outcomes in semester 2 of Muhammadiyah University of Palembang. The research procedure used the Rowntree model, namely: planning, development, and evaluation. In the evaluation stage, Tessmer's formative evaluation model is used which consists of 5 stages, namely: self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. The result of this research is an andragogy-based English module. Modules are declared valid after being validated by material, language, and module design experts. The results of the one-to-one evaluation of 3 students stated that the students who were the research subjects gave very good responses to the andragogy-based module. The module is declared practical based on the results of one-to-one evaluations and small group evaluations. The results of the small group evaluation of 8 students obtained an average value of student responses to all aspects assessed at 82.47 in the practical category. The module is stated to have a potential effect on student learning outcomes because at the field test stage for 31 students, an N-gain of 0.58 was obtained, including the moderate category. Suggestions for lecturers, students and universities that this andragogy-based module can be used in learning English as well as for other researchers this andragogy-based module can be used as a reference in developing similar research. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul bahasa Inggris berbasis andragogi yang valid, praktis dan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa di semester 2 Universitas Muhammadiyah Palembang. Prosedur penelitian menggunakan model Rowntree, yaitu: perencanaan, pengembangan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap evaluasi digunakan model evaluasi formatif Tessmer yang terdiri dari 5 tahap, yaitu: self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one evaluation, small group evaluation, dan field test. Hasil penelitian ini adalah modul bahasa Inggris berbasis andragogi. Modul dinyatakan valid setelah divaliadasi oleh ahli materi, bahasa, dan desain modul. Hasil one-to-one evaluation terhadap 3 orang mahasiswa, menyatakan mahasiswa yang dijadikan subjek penelitian memberi respon sangat baik terhadap modul berbasis andragogi. Modul dinyatakan praktis berdasarkan hasil one-to-one evaluation dan small group evaluation. Hasil small group evaluation terhadap 8 orang mahasiswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata tanggapan mahasiswa terhadap semua aspek yang dinilai sebesar 82,47 dengan kategori praktis. Modul dinyatakan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa karena pada tahap field test terhadap 31 orang mahasiswa diperoleh N-gain 0,58 termasuk kategori sedang. Saran bagi dosen, siswa dan Universitas agar modul berbasis andragogi ini dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dengan sebaiknya serta bagi peneliti lain modul berbasis andragogi ini dapat dijadikan acuan dalam mengembangkan penelitian yang serupa.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan bahan ajar determinan dan invers matriks berbasis android untuk SMA Kelas XI yang valid dan praktis, dan (2) mengetahui efek potensialnya terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI. IPA 6 SMA Negeri 8 Palembang yang terdiri dari 34 orang sebagai subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian pengembangan atau development research yang terdiri dari dua tahapan, yaitu: tahap preliminary meliputi analisis dan desain, dan tahap formative evaluation meliputi self evaluation, prototyping (expert review, one to one, small group), dan field test. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan walkthrough, observasi, wawancara dan tes. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) bahan ajar determinan dan invers matriks berbasis android untuk SMA Kelas XI terkategori valid dan praktis, dan (2) bahan ajar yang dikembangkan memiliki efek potensial terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik rata-rata terkategori baik, yaitu 13 orang memiliki kemampuan dalam kategori sangat baik, 12 orang terkategori baik, 4 orang terkategori cukup, dan 5 orang terkategori kurang.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lembar aktivitas siswa berbasis masalah pada materi garis-garis istimewa segitiga di kelas VII SMP yang valid, praktis, dan memiliki efek potensial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan tahapan meliputi preliminary study dan tahapan formative evaluation (self evaluation, expert review, one-to one, small group, dan field test). Subyek penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII.8 di SMP Negeri 6 Palembang. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar aktivitas siswa berbasis masalah, RPP, dokumen (lembar validasi), dan soal tes. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif. Pada tahapan expert review dan one-to-one dilakukan untuk melihat validitas lembar aktivitas siswa. Tahapan small group dilakukan untuk melihat kepraktisan. Adapun field test digunakan untuk melihat efek potensial dari lembar aktivitas siswa yang dikembangkan.AbstractThis study aims to produce a student activity sheet based on problem related material special lines triangle in class VII SMP which valid, practical, and have a potential effect. Research subjects in this study were VII.8 class in SMP Negeri 6 Palembang. Instruments used in this research is problem-based student activity sheets, lesson plans, documents (validation sheets), and test questions. Analysis of the data used is descriptive analysis. On the steps of expert reviews and one-to-one is made to see the validity of the student activity sheet. On the steps in small group made to look practicality. The field test is used to look at the potential effects of student activity sheets developed.

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan instrumen penilaian autentik berbasis karakter pada ranah keterampilan di Fakultas Ilmu Sosial Unimed. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu: (1) Lima orang pakar untuk validasi produk yang memiliki kriteria sebagai ahli: (a) PIPS, (b) Pendidikan Karakter, (c) instrumen Penilaian Autentik, (d) Bahasa Indonesia, dan (e) Psikologi; (2) Dosen FIS Unimed; dan (3) Mahasiswa FIS Unimed. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode riset pengembangan tipe formative research, yang dalam pengembangannya difokuskan pada 2 tahap yaitu tahap preliminary dan tahap formative evaluation yang meliputi self evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one, dan small group), serta field test. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket dan uji coba lapangan. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilaian autentik berbasis karakter pada ranah keterampilan sudah valid dan berkategori sangat baik. Hasil uji coba lapangan (skala kecil dan skala besar) menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penilaian autentik berbasis karakter pada ranah keterampilan yang dikembangkan mempunyai validitas dan efektivitas yang sangat baik. Dengan demikian, berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dan uji coba lapangan dapat disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian autentik berbasis karakter pada ranah keterampilan sudah valid, efektif, dan berkategori sangat baik sehingga instrumen dapat digunakan untuk mengukur ketercapaian nilai-nilai karakter mahasiswa khususnya pada ranah keterampilan.

This research aimed at analyzing the quality of the newly developed local-content-based instructional graded reading materials for junior high school students in Lubuklinggau. The development of the instructional materials was then analyzed and evaluated in terms of their validity, practicality, and effectiveness using formative evaluation proposed, which consists of self-evaluation, experts review, one-to-one, small group, and field test. The result of expert review showed that the prototype of the product was categorized as having high validity as indicated by the average score of questionnaires on content and construct which was 3.23 (scale 1-4). Moreover, developed instructional reading materials were also considered as highly practical as indicated by the average score of one-to-one evaluation (3.39) and small group evaluation (3.18). Meanwhile, the result of field test evaluation showed that the developed reading comprehension test was highly effective to be used as reading assessment. Meanwhile, the result of field test evaluation shows that developed test could be categorized as effective because there were 20 students (74.07%) out of 27 students in reading comprehension test reached average category which was between 56 and 70. Hence, it was concluded that the developed products, either the test or the teaching materials can become alternative for teaching reading to students whose level of reading is level 3. Abstrak Bahasa IndonesiaPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) berbasis cerita bergambar yang valid dan praktis. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Reseach and Development, yaitu metode penelitian yang digunakan untuk menghasilkan produk dengan menggunakan prosedur penelitian Tessmer. Prosedur penelitian Tessmer menggunakan 2 tahap, yaitu: tahap preliminary (perencanaan dan pendesainan) dan tahap prototyping menggunakan alur formative evaluation (self evaluation, expert review, one to one, small group, dan field test). Hasil validasi yang dilakukan oleh ahli desain, materi, dan bahasa menunjukkan bahwa lembar kerja peserta didik berbasis cerita bergambar dinyatakan valid. Hasil uji coba kepraktisan tahap one to one memperoleh persentase 97% dengan kategori praktis, dan pada tahap small group memperoleh persentase 100% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, LKPD berbasis cerita bergambar pada mata pelajaran Matematika Kelas IV SD/ MI adalah valid dan praktis.abstract in englishThis study aims to produce a valid and practical worksheet based on pictorial stories. This research used research and development, namely the research method used to produce products using Tessmer's research procedures. Tessmer's research procedure used 2 stages, namely the preliminary stage (planning and design) and the prototyping stage using the formative evaluation (self-evaluation, expert review, one to one, small group, and field test) flow. The results of validation carried out by design, material, and language experts show that the illustrated story-based student worksheets are declared valid. The results of the one to one stage of the practicality trial obtained a percentage of 97% in the practical category and at the small group stage obtained a percentage of 100% with the very practical category. From the results of this analysis, it can be concluded that worksheet based on pictorial stories in Mathematics for Elementary Education student grade 4 is valid and practical.

This study aimed to produce the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS)’ questions of relation and function material that had validity and practicality and also had potential effect to support student’s creative thinking. This research was a descriptive research with design research method and development study type. The questions of relation and function material developed based on characteristics of Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) questions and followed stages of development study, such as: self evaluation, experts review, one-to-one, small group and field test. The subjects of this research were 38 students of eight grader from SMP Negeri 17 Palembang. They participated on one-to-one, small group and field test. Data collected using walkthroughs, interviews, questionnaires and tests. Validity of questions knew form experts review result based on content, construct and language. Practicality of questions knew from small group result about student’ understanding of purpose of questions and procedural of answering questions. Potential effect did known by test on field test stage. The result showed the HOTS’ questions of relation and function material truly supported student’s creative thinking.
