This research aimed at analyzing the quality of the newly developed local-content-based instructional graded reading materials for junior high school students in Lubuklinggau. The development of the instructional materials was then analyzed and evaluated in terms of their validity, practicality, and effectiveness using formative evaluation proposed, which consists of self-evaluation, experts review, one-to-one, small group, and field test. The result of expert review showed that the prototype of the product was categorized as having high validity as indicated by the average score of questionnaires on content and construct which was 3.23 (scale 1-4). Moreover, developed instructional reading materials were also considered as highly practical as indicated by the average score of one-to-one evaluation (3.39) and small group evaluation (3.18). Meanwhile, the result of field test evaluation showed that the developed reading comprehension test was highly effective to be used as reading assessment. Meanwhile, the result of field test evaluation shows that developed test could be categorized as effective because there were 20 students (74.07%) out of 27 students in reading comprehension test reached average category which was between 56 and 70. Hence, it was concluded that the developed products, either the test or the teaching materials can become alternative for teaching reading to students whose level of reading is level 3. This research is intended to produce BQBO strategy – based literacy reading learning materials for the 4th grade students of Elementary School which are valid, practical, and effective. To produce the prototype of the materials, Plomp Model was applied. The prototype was revised by using Self Evaluation and Experts Review Evaluation. It then was tested by using One to One Evaluation method to the students at SD Negeri 46 Kuranji. In order to see the practicality of the product, the prototype was tried out by using Small Group Method and Field Test Evaluation Method in the 4th grade of SD Negeri 06 Padang. Meanwhile to see the effectiveness of the learning materials developed, the prototype was tried out by using Field Test Evaluation Method at SD Negeri 01 Sawahan. Based on the results of the research, it is concluded that the BQBO strategy – based literacy reading learning materials developed for the 4th grade students of Elementary School are valid, practical, and effective.

Exposing abundance of English information related to students’ educational background knowledge can improve their competence in comprehending English texts. Thus, this study developed ESP reading materials for accounting students. It was aimed at finding out what kind of ESP reading materials should be developed to increase accounting students’ reading skill, and examining the validity, practicality, and potential effect of the developed ESP reading materials.The product was developed by using Akker covering the phases of analysis, design, evaluation and revision. Furthermore, formative evaluation proposed by Tessmer was used. This study involved 40 students selected by using purposive technique. The data were gathered from the results of validation sheet questionnaire of content and instructional design, students’ responses questionnaire, and reading comprehension test. The analysis of validation sheet questionnaire from two experts’ judgement indicated that the developed product had very high validity (3.61). Meanwhile, the results of students’ responses questionnaire showed that the average score in one-to-one evaluation was 3.3 and in small group evaluation was 3.5. It revealed that the product was denoted as practical in which both evaluations were in high practicality category. At last, the results of reading comprehension test showed that there was 64% of the students could pass the minimum mastery criterion. Thus, the findings indicated that ESP reading materials for accounting students can be determined had average potential effect after being implemented to the students in a real class. In other words, ESP reading materials developed in this study were potential effect enough to increase the students’ reading skill.

The purpose of this study was to find out the validity, practicality, and potential effect of the developed interactive multimedia for teaching descriptive texts based on Palembang local culture. With Research and Development (R&D) study, this research procedure was adapted from ADDIE model consisted of five phases, i.e. analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. In evaluation phase, formative evaluation which consisted of self-evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation, small group evaluation, and field test. Formative evaluation was conducted to see the validity, practicality, and potential effect of the product. Validity was evaluated in expert review phase for its content, construct, and media. Based on experts review the result showed that the average score of all aspects of the developed product was 3.58 which can be categorized as very highly valid. The practicality was evaluated in one to one evaluation and small group evaluation. The result showed that the product was very highly practical since the average score in both phases were 3.69 and 3.74 respectively. The potential effect was evaluated in the field test. The product also had very high potential effect after being tried out in the field test as 100 % of the students achieved the minimum mastery criterion which was 75. In conclusion, the developed product was potentially effective to be applied for the tenth grade students.Keywords: development research; interactive multimedia; descriptive texts; Palembang local culture

The current  study was aimed to find out whether the developing business letter writing materials through peer editing technique  were valid, practical and had potential effect for the management students of Faculty of Economics at Tridinanti University of Palembang. Developmental research proposed by Akker  i.e analysis, design, evaluation and revision was applied in this study. In the evaluation phase, formative evaluation model proposed by Tressmer was used (i.eself evaluation, expert review, one to one small group and field test). There were 3 students participating in one to one evaluation, 9 students in small group and one class (34 students) i field test. There were also two validators in reviewing the developing business letter writing materials through peer editing technique . One was expert of content and another one was expert in  instructional design. The result of experts judgement showed that the product was valid with average score was 89.2 categorized in good validity. The product was practical with average score in one to one evaluation was 84.3 and in small group phase was 86.8. the effectiveness of the product could be seen from the average score of students’achievement in field test. The score was 92.8 meaning that the score was higher than the criterion of minimal mastery (KKM) of developing business letter writing materials through peer editing technique. Therefore, the product had potential effect categorized in very good level.It could be used for the better improvement and contribution in the field of ESP language teaching and learning.

Abstract. The study aimed to find out the validity, practicality, and potential effect of the developed reading materials with local culture based descriptive texts. The development research consisted of analysis, design, evaluation and revision was used. Then, formative evaluation proposed by Tessmer (1993) was also used. In order to review the product, there were 2 experts in expert review, 3 students involved in one-to-one, 9 students involved in small group which were given the reading materials and 18 students involved in field test. The questionnaires and a test were used in order to collect the data. The results showed that the developed product was valid after being evaluated in expert review which was categorized as highly valid. The product was also practical after being evaluated in one-to-one and small group which were categorized as very highly practical. Then, the reading assessment also could be categorized as effective since there were 12 students reached the minimum mastery criterion Keywords: development research, local culture, descriptive texts.

Abstract Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat materi pembelajaran untuk pengajaran sosiologi guna memotivasi siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan guna menformulasi produk dan mengukur efektifitasnya melalui validasi dan pengujian ahli di bidangnya. Ada tiga tipe test yang digunakan yaitu, one to one, small group, dan field test yang menunjukkan bahwa desain materi tersebut efektif. Setelah melalui revisi, desain meteri pembelajaran Sosiologi dianggap bermanfaat dan dapat digunakan dalam proses belajar mengajar Kata Kunci: Perangkat pembelajaran, mata pelajaran Sosiologi, siswa Madrasah Aliyah Abstract [Tittle: The Development of Sosiology Instructional Material for The Students fo Islamic Senior High School] . The research aims at developing a set of instructional material for teaching Sociology in order to motivate the students. The researcher employed a research and developing method to formulate a product and to measure its effectiveness through validation and trial-out by the experts of content-material and material-design. There were three types of trial to test the design; one to one, small group, and field test. Based on the test result, it was found that students in average can achieve 84% of overall score which indicate that the designed material is effective. After being revised several times in each stage, the design of instructional material for Sociology subject is considered as beneficial and able to be used in the teaching learning process

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan soal matematika model PISA konten Space and Shape yang valid dan praktis melihat prosedur pengembangan soal dan mengukur kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian pengembangan. Penelitian ini memerlukan dua tahap yaitu preliminary dan tahap formative evaluation yang meliputi self evaluation, expert reviews, one-to-one, small group, dan field test. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan berdasarkan walktrough, dokumen, tes dan angket. Setelah melalui tahap one-to-one, small group, dan validasi secara deskriptif, soal diujicobakan pada tahap field test di kelas VIII SMP N 1 Padangsidimpuan. Hasil tes secara keseluruhan dengan nilai rata-rata kemapuan penalaran matematis 56,07, termasuk pada kategori kemampuan penalaran matematis yang cukup, walaupun masih ada siswa yang masuk pada kategori kemampuan penalaran kurang. Dari hasil ini juga dapat dikatakan bahwa soal serupa PISA yang dikembangkan dikategorikan dalam kriteria valid dan praktis serta memiliki efek potensial terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the static electricity subject matter learning device for junior high school students. Learning tools include syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, LKPD, and assessment test. The research model used is the Tessmer development model which consists of five steps, namely: 1) Self evaluation; 2) expert review; 3) one to one; 4) small group; and 5) field test. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative analysis to assess the effectiveness of the learning tools. The results showed that the learning tools developed were considered effective as seen from the LKPD results which showed an increasing trend in the indicators of critical skills.Keywords: effectiveness, learning tools, critical thinking skills, static electricityAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran materi pokok listrik statis pada peserta didik SMP. Perangkat pembelajaran meliputi silabus, RPP, materi ajar, LKPD, dan lembar penilaian. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah model pengembangan Tessmer yang terdiri atas lima langkah yaitu: 1) Evaluasi diri (self evaluation); 2) pendapat pakar (expert review); 3) uji coba perorangan (one to one); 4) uji coba kelompok kecil (small group); dan 5) uji lapangan (field test). Teknik analisi data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kuantitatif untuk menilai efektivitas perangkat pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dinilai efektif dilihat dari hasil LKPD yang menunjukkan tren peningkatan pada indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis.Kata kunci: efektivitas, perangkat pembelajaran, keterampilan berpikir kritis, listrik statis

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan komik Fisika berbasis kearifan lokal Palembang yang valid, praktis, dan mempunyai dampak potensial. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (researce development) dari Akker yang menggunakan model Rowntree dengan model evaluasi formatif Tessmer. Subjek penelitian yaitu siswa kelas X SMA di Palembang. Berdasarkan evaluasi ahli, komik Fisika ini dinyatakan sangat valid dengan rerata 1 (skor maksimal 1). Pada tahap one to one, komik Fisika ini dinyatakan sangat praktis dengan rerata 0,8 (skor maksimal 1). Pada tahap small group, komik Fisika ini dinyatakan sangat praktis dengan rerata 3,43 (skor maksimal 4). Pada tahap field test sebanyak 64% siswa tuntas dalam mengerjakan soal Fisika dan hasil post-test menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 28,71 jika dibandingkan dengan hasil pre-test. Oleh karena itu, komik Fisika berbasis kearifan lokal Palembang yang dikembangkan mempunyai dampak potensial terhadap hasil tes belajar Fisika. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahwa komik Fisika berbasis kearifan lokal Palembang dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan memiliki dampak potensial. Komik ini layak untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran.

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan menghasilkan modul pembelajaran kimia yang berjudul pakan jeroan ikan untuk pertumbuhan ikan lele terintegrasi STEM-PBL yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model ADDIE dan dievaluasi dengan menggunakan metode evaluasi formatif Tessmer. Tahapan evaluasi formatif Tessmer dalam penelitian ini meliputi self evaluation, expert review, one-to-one, dan small group. Hasil tahapan expert review memperoleh skor rata-rata kevalidan sebesar 0,81 skala Aiken dengan kategori kevalidan tinggi. Hasil skor akhir kepraktisan pada uji one-to-one sebesar 0,91 skala Aiken (kepraktisan tinggi) dan small group 0,81 skala Aiken (kepraktisan tinggi). Hasil tahapan field test menunjukan skor akhir n-gain adalah sebesar 0,796 dengan kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran kimia terintegrasi STEM-PBL telah memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis dan efektif yang dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah kewirausahaan.
