Relevance. It is possible to significantly increase the multiplication factor of varieties of winter garlic by growing from air bulbs (bulbs). For successful culture using air bulbs, it is very important to correctly determine the most productive fraction for each variety and calibrate it for sowing.Material and methodology. In our collection, there are more than 70 samples of winter garlic collected from different regions of Russia and two CIS countries. The air bulbs were calibrated using a set of round sieves with apertures of 3, 5, 7, 10 mm.Results. On average, the samples of the collection have a high percentage of ripening of air bulbs - 75- 83%. The number of underdeveloped flowers on average for samples of different origins varies slightly – 37-48 pcs. in the inflorescence. The mass of inflorescence on average in specimens of local origin (Sverdlovsk region) is 4.2 g, of different origin (Ukraine, Uzbekistan, 5 regions of Russia) – 4.9 g, of southern origin (Dagestan) – 5.6 g. In specimens of local origin air bulbs of medium (5-7 mm) and small fraction (3-5 mm), different origin – large (7-10 mm) and medium fraction, southern origin – large, medium and small fraction. For reproduction by air bulbs, samples 9/5-1. 9/5-2 of local origin were allocated (Sverdlovsk region); 9/4 (Ukraine), 8/15, 10/5, 10/10 (Moscow), 9/3-1, 9/3-2 and grade Shadeyka (Perm); sample-5, 10/11, 10/13 (Dagestan).

The ratios of deuterium to hydrogen and carbon-13 to carbon-12 expressed as δ D ‰ and d 13C ‰ , respectively, were determined in ten synthetical ethanols of different origin and compared with those of 28 samples of ethanol which were prepared from plant material grown in different places and at different times. The δ D values of the synthetic ethanols are between - 117‰ and - 140‰ and those for ethanol obtained by fermentation between - 200‰ and - 272‰. Using glucose samples of different origins with δ D values between - 3‰ and - 76‰ and water of a δ D value of - 77‰ led to ethanol with drastically diminished deuterium contents ranging from δ D values of -211 to -247‰. The differences of the δ 13C values between ethanols obtained by fermentation of C3 and C4-plant carbohydrates are greater than those between synthetic ethanols and the ethanols obtained from the starch of C3-plants.

The paper considers the problem of labor migrants from the CIS countries distribution in the regions of Russia. The relevance of this migration situation aspect is determined by its connection with the general state of the domestic labor market, the imbalances existing here, the lack of necessary regulation of the foreign labor demand and supply. It’s extremely important to understand this situation from the point of view of the need for adaptation and integration of migrants. The analysis showed that the national contingents of visa-free labor migrants are extremely unevenly distributed across the regions of the country. During the pandemic, the total number of foreigners in Russia decreased significantly, while the structure and direction of flows remained practically unchanged. A significant obstacle to the analysis is gaps in statistics, inconsistencies between individual blocks of indicators and their sources.

Abstract The shortage of young medical workers in Russia is a long-standing and acute problem; its solution, even in part, is impossible without taking into account a whole set of factors. An empirical analysis of the results of the survey of graduates of medical and non-medical specializations in Russia and CIS countries gives grounds to identify graduates of medical faculties as a homogeneous group, which has similar migration patterns and relatively low variance in the impact of various factors on these patterns. When making decision about migration for employment graduates of medical specialties are less susceptible to the imbalance in the development of regions of Russia, but more sensitive to social factors. The findings of the paper confirm the importance of ongoing efforts in the field of social and economic policy keeping in mind its potential effectiveness to retain medical workers in regions of Russia.

Therapeutic and prophylactic preparations of bacteriophages are considered as an effective modern means of antimicrobial therapy of Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection. Bacteriophages that are part  of the drugs must be certified for confirmation of their lytic and  genetic properties, which ensures the safety and effectiveness of the  use of drugs. In our study, biological and morphological  properties were studied for drug design, the spectrum of  antibacterial activity of bacteriophages isolated in various regions of  Russia was determined. The most important stage of the work was  research on ensuring genetic safety of bacteriophage preparations.  As a result, a composition of 6 strains of lytic bacteriophages of P.  aeruginosa (PaUfa №№ 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7) composed of the  morphology of the virions to the families Podoviridae and Myoviridae, the order of Caudovirales, phylogenetic genetic groups phiKMV- likevirus , N4-likevirus, PB1-likevirus. The composition has a wide  spectrum of antibacterial activity (90.7%) with respect to 818  collisional, epidemiologically significant hospital and clinical strains of P. aeruginosa bacteria, and also quite versatile for various remote  territories of Russia and CIS countries.

Nanotechnology has vast applications in virtually all the fields including health and environment. Nanomaterials have different origins like plants, animals, metals, and microorganisms. They have larvicidal activities against mosquito larvae that cause malaria and dengue fever which are most malicious parasitic diseases of human beings. Multidrug resistance of malaria has been reported in different parts of Southeast Asia especially to the first line of antimalarial drugs. Nanomaterials having different origin, sizes, concentrations, and shapes, have varied efficacy against the vectors which are comparable with the commercially available insecticides and even have better results than the same. Nanomaterials can be used as an alternative to commercially available insecticides for the eradication of vectors causing both the diseases. In this chapter, types, sources, composition, larvicidal potential against vectors of nanomaterials have been discussed along with possible toxicity and future recommendations on the eco-friendly approach for the control of mosquito-borne diseases.

Qula is a cheese-like product usually prepared with unpasteurized yak milk under open conditions, with both endogenous and exogenous microorganisms involved in the fermentation process. In the present study, 15 Qula samples were collected from five different regions in China to investigate the diversity of microbial communities using high-throughput sequencing targeting the V3–V4 region of 16S rRNA gene. The bacterial diversity significantly differed among samples of different origins, indicating a possible effect of geography. The result also showed that microbial communities significantly differed in samples of different origin and these differences were greater at the genus than the phylum level. A total of six phyla were identified in the samples, and Firmicutes and Proteobacteria had a relative abundance >20%. A total of 73 bacterial genera were identified in the samples. Two dominant genera (Lactobacillus and Acetobacter) were common to all samples, and a total of 47 operational taxonomic units at different levels significantly differed between samples of different origin. The predicted functional genes of the bacteria present in samples also indicated differences in bacterial communities between the samples of different origin. The network analysis showed that microbial interactions between bacterial communities in Qula were very complex. This study lays a foundation for further investigations into its food ecology.

Anisotropy of damage productions in crystals due to high energy electron bombardment are caused from two different origins. One is an anisotropic displacement threshold energy, and the other is an anisotropic distribution of electron flux near the atomic rows in crystals due to the electron channeling effect. By the n-beam dynamical calculations for germanium and molybdenum we have shown that electron flux at the atomic positions are from ∽4 to ∽7 times larger than the mean incident flux for the principal zone axis directions of incident 1 MeV electron beams, and concluded that such a locally increased electron flux results in an enhanced damage production. The present paper reports the experimental evidence for the enhanced damage production due to the locally increased electron flux and also the results of measurements of the displacement threshold energies for the <100>,<110> and <111> directions in molybdenum crystals by using a high voltage electron microscope.

Structure of the Russian export and import of steel industry products presented by results of 9 months of 2019 operation. It was shown, that the total share of pig iron, ferroalloys and semi-products (40.3%) in the ferrous metals export from Russia is practically the same as the share of rolled products and steel pipes (39.4%), whereas the shares in the import structure were 7.7 and 75% accordingly. The share the far abroad countries in the Russian export and import of finished steel products (in natural terms) accounted for 80.6 and 28.7% accordingly, while the share of CIS countries – 19.4 and 71.3% accordingly. For 9 months of 2019 the Russian export of semi-products declined by 10.9% comparing with the analogue period of 2018 and accounted for 10.9 m tons. 54.6% of the total export shipping of semi-products were directed to Mexico, Turkey, Egypt and Taiwan. Within the nearest years the Russian export of semi-products and billets, in particular, will be effected by the further development of the semi-products production in in the countries of Middle East, Turkey, Vietnam and India. The domestic market remained to be more attractive for many Russian companies. For the 9 months of 2019, export of long and flat products accounted for 3 and 5.7 m tons accordingly, declining comparing with the analogue period of the previous year by 11 and 15.6% accordingly. Import of long and flat products decreased by 12 and 0.5%, accounting for 1.0 and 2.9 m tons accordingly. By the results of 9 months of 2019, import declined and export shipping of coated sheet increased. Taking into account the expansion of steel grades assortment by Russian plants, increase of capacities for production of sheet with different coatings, this tendency is likely to remain.

Complex processes that accompany the formation and development of Ukrainian statehood have created favorable conditions for the spread of neo-religious churches, currents and trends. Most of them are mentally rooted, are spread predominantly owing to the activity of foreign missionaries. Therefore, given the local origin and social resonance, the Great White Brotherhood's phenomenon, whose propagation of faith was carried out and had some success in most of the post-Soviet countries, needs special attention.
