The method used in this study is a quantitative method with an explanatory format. The researcher collected data using a questionnaire distributed through a link to 37 respondents, and the sampling technique used was a simple random sampling technique. The results of this study indicate an effect of body shaming on Instagram on female students' self-confidence. The regression coefficient value obtained in this study is Y= 22.788 + 0.285X with a significance level of 0.000 less than 0.05, so it can be concluded that the X variable affects the Y variable. Body shaming on Instagram on female students' self-confidence by 6.9% with a shallow category and the rest is influenced by other things outside of this study, such as the psychological component.

Media sosial digunakan sebagai wadah untuk mengekspresikan diri dan berhubungan dengan siapapun itu. The wider the social environment in life as social beings, the greater the challenges faced by each individual to present himself as a person who can adapt well. Individuals who can adapt well are said to have good interpersonal competence. Interpersonal competence is said to be related to assertiveness as well as self-concept. This research method uses a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study were 100 students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mulawarman University, who were selected using simple random sampling techniques. The data collection method used a scaling instrument with a Likert scale of five answer choices for the three variables. The study results prove that there is no influence of assertiveness and self-concept on interpersonal competence in students. With an F value of 0.564 (p>0.05). The effective contribution is 1.1%, while the remaining 98.9% is influenced by other factors not examined in this study.

The current scenario revealed that many universities, both public and private, are taking various initiatives in improving the quality of academic programs offered. This is because, excellence in academic achievement is one of the determining factors for the graduate employability. However, psychological factors such as self -concept are still under -emphasized as an important aspect in determining academic achievement. Therefore, this study aims to look at the relationship between self -concept and academic achievement of students in Institutions of higher learning. The study uses a survey method in which subjects were selected through simple random sampling involving 160 students (n = 160). Descriptive statistical analysis was used to describe the level of academic achievement and the level of self -concept of the subject in the form of percentage as well as frequency. Meanwhile, regression analysis was used to see the influence of self-concept factors on academic achievement. The findings of the study can be summarized as follows; (i) the majority of subjects had academic achievement at the honors level (51.9%) (ii) the majority of subjects had a moderate level of self -concept (61.3%); and (iii) the self -concept factor which contribute to the highest percentage of changes in academic achievement is the construct of personal self -concept (17.1 percent). In conclusion, this study successfully proves that self-concept has a significant relationship with students' academic achievement and there are self-concept factors that contribute to academic achievement. Implications and recommendations for future studies are also discussed in this study.

In this article I would like to question one of the explanations offered to help account for the relatively low academic achievement of Aboriginal pupils, namely that they are handicapped by negative self-concepts. The connection between self-concept and school success itself seems plausible enough. For instance, students with negative self-concepts may tend to adopt low occupational horizons which, in turn, can undermine one type of motivation for academic achievement. Similarly, if pupils perceive schooling as a race then lack of self-confidence could lead them to take the attitude, “Why bother, I’m not good enough to win a place to university anyway.” Moreover, as Jackson (1960) points out, classrooms are very judgmental places where the behaviour and work of children is constantly evaluated by teachers and peers. As a result in many learning situations the student “is risking error, judgment, disapproval, censure, rejection and, in extreme cases, even punishment” (Canfield and Wells, 1976:7). If insecure and defensive, pupils may find such an atmosphere very threatening and consequently be inhibited by a fear of failure. Also, it may be suggested, unless children are self-sufficient they may experience difficulty coping with cold, distant, formal teacher-pupil relationships. What is more open to dispute, however, is whether or not Aboriginal children have negative self-concepts. Fanshawe (1976) observes that there is insufficient experimental data to enable this issue to be resolved conclusively on empirical grounds. And within the literature on the education of socially disadvantaged children there are opposing views that can be related to differences in ideology.

Self-esteem is an important predictor of an individual's worth about oneself. Low selfesteem means individuals have poor self-confidence and self-concept whereas high selfesteem is related to high confidence, good social adjustment, high academic achievement and so on and so forth. The present study was conducted on a sample of 100 students of standard XI. The tool administered was self-esteem inventory designed by Prasad and Thakur and Children's Report of Parental Behaviour Inventory (CRPBI) by Saxena and Saxena. The results indicated that majority of girls have negative self-esteem. But the self-esteem is not associated with either of the parent's behaviour.

The general number of respondents is four hundred, of which 200 were female students. The sampling cluster and simple random sampling techniques have been used for the selection of schools and students, respectively. A questionnaire of 34-items is organized on five Likert Scale points to seek answers from the students. Percentage and mean were used to calculate the perceptions of each male and female science student. The results showed a constructive attitude towards mathematics teaching to both males and females.

Background: Flourishing is a psychological construct that refers to the type of living together with permanent happiness in human functions. Individuals with high levels of flourishing are aware of their abilities, keen on progress, and considered beneficial community members. Objectives: The present study aimed to determine the flourishing status and its association with academic achievement in the students of Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, Iran. Methods: This cross-sectional, descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 295 students at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences in 2018. The students were selected via simple random sampling with proportional probability to size. Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire. Data analysis was performed in SPSS version 16 using independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation-coefficient at the significance of 95%. Results: The mean age of the students was 22.92 ± 2.47 years (range: 18 - 30 years). The mean score of flourishing was 39.93 ± 8.73 (score range: 8 - 56), which indicated that the participants received 71.3% of the maximum score of flourishing. In addition, the score of flourishing was significantly higher in the female students compared to the males (P = 0.046) and had a positive, significant correlation with academic achievement (r = 0.197; P = 0.002). Conclusions: Considering the more favorable status of flourishing in the female students, it is recommended that educational programs be developed and implemented for the promotion of flourishing by focusing on male students.
