This paper focuses on investigating whether the contents of 6th grade math lesson in the digital education platform (EBA) used in distance education in Turkey during the COVID-19 pandemic period are appropriate to the critical thinking standards. The contents of the math lesson, which are in the digital education platform (EBA) in 2020-2021 academic years, constitute the population of the study. The course contents, which belong to “Data Collection” and “Data Analysis” subtopics of 6 th grade math lesson used in Turkey’s digital education platform (EBA) in 2020-2021 academic years, constitute the sample of the study. In the study, document analysis method is used. Based on the analysis conducted, it is concluded that the learning contents, which belong to “Data Collection and Evaluation” and “Data Analysis” subtopics of 6th grade math lesson, are appropriate to clearness, accuracy, importance, sufficiency, depth, and precision standards of critical thinking. In accordance with the findings discovered, some suggestions are made on the process of distance education.

This research is motivated by the competence of teachers in preparing poor learning outcomes tests and has not been able to measure high-level thinking skills, especially critical thinking skills. Therefore the researcher seeks to improve teacher competence in compiling tests on student learning outcomes based on critical thinking skills through academic supervision. This study uses a school action research design that has stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. This research was conducted for 2 months starting April 9 to May 17, 2019 for Physics teachers in the 7 target schools. Data is sourced from interviews with teachers and test documents prepared by the teacher. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis through the stages of data collection, data simplification, data presentation, conclusion drawing. Data were analyzed using assessment rubrics adjusted to indicators of critical thinking skills. The results of this study conclude that teacher competence in preparing tests of learning outcomes based on critical thinking skills has increased from the first cycle with a percentage of 61% with sufficient categories to 76% with good categories in cycle II.

The purpose of this research are to knowing the differences of critical thinking skills using interactive module photoelectric effects  with printed module, describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills after the interactive module is applied, describe science process skills in students who use interactive module of photoelectric effects, and knowing student responses to the use interactive module of photoelectric effects. The study was conducted in Natar 1 Public High School, in the even semester 2018/2019 academic year with research design nonequivalent control group design.The research instrument used was a questionnaire (questionnaire), Student Worksheet (LKPD) along with observation sheets and test questions. Data collection techniques were carried out by test techniques, questionnaires and LKPD contents. The data analysis technique of critical thinking ability is done by normality test, homogeneity test and N-gain. The data analysis technique of science process skills is done by calculating the average grade of the class then adjusted to the index classification table of science processes. Hypothesis testing is done by Paired Sample T Test and Independent Sample T Test. The results of the study show that (1) the application of the photoelectric effect interactive module is able to improve students' critical thinking skills, this is seen from the N-gain value and paired sample t test results, 2) there are significant differences in critical thinking skills between students who use interactive modules with printed modules, this is seen from the differences in the n-gain values of both classes and the results of the independent sample t test, (3) the value of students' science process skills is 82.6 with a high category, and (4) students gave a positive response to the utilization of the photoelectric effect interactive module.

ABSTRACT[Capacity of student critical thinking through learning base on ecosystem study of water river]. South Bengkulu one of regencies in Bengkulu Province, located west in of the Bukit Barisan Mountains range which has a height of 600-1200 meters above sea level. South Bengkulu has a lot natural wealth that can be utilized as a medium of learning. This research aims to measure the ability of critical thinking and process skill student of class VII MTN 2 south Bengkulu by utilizing environment-based teaching materials. This research uses observation data collection techniques and test (pre test and post test ) Assessment of process skill conducted on two learning activities that is indoor and out door learning activities. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi dan tes (pre test dan Post test). Penilaian keterampilan proses ini dilakukan pada dua kegiatan pembelajaran indoor dan kegiatan pembelajaran outdoor. Kemampuan kinerja keterampilan proses siswa kelas VII MTsN 2 bengkulu Selatan termasuk kedalam kategori sangat baik dan Baik dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa secara klasikal termasuk kedalam kategori Kritis.Kata Kunci: Kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, bahan ajar berbasis lingkungan, Pre test dan post test.

This study aims to produce a science module based on mobile-collaborative-based science learning (m-CBSL) with the topic of temperature and heat and describe the resulting module's validity and practicality. The research design was Educational Design Research (EDR). The data collection techniques used were literature study, walkthrough, interview, and questionnaire. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire of validity and practicality. Data analysis techniques include descriptive data analysis, validation sheets, and questionnaires. Module validation sheets were given to 5 validators. In contrast, practicality sheets were given to 9 students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Banjarmasin (small group) and 62 students and three science teachers at SMP Negeri 6 & 12 Banjarmasin field test. The validity questionnaire analysis results concluded that the validity of the module was 3.71 "very valid" categories. The practicality level based on the teacher's questionnaire scored 87.04 in the "very practical" category. The small group questionnaire scored 85.19 in the "very practical" category, and the field trial questionnaire scored 86.42 in the "very practical" category. It means that the m-CBSL based science module is valid and practical in the learning process to improve critical thinking skills and collaboration.

The condition of the students’ critical thinking skills in the Kowangbinangun State Elementary School has impacted their learning results. Departing from this situation, a study for improving the students’ critical thinking skills and learning results by using hidrorium as the media should be conducted. Within the conduct of the study, the approach that had been adopted was the classroom action research. Then, the instruments that had been implemented were the test instrument, namely the test items for measuring the achievement of the students’ learning results, and the non-test instrument, namely the assignment assessment rubric for measuring the students’ critical thinking skills level. Furthermore, the data analysis method that had been adopted was the descriptive-comparativee method. Within the first cycle, 4% of the students belonged to the “Very High” category, 14% of the students belonged to the “High” category, and 82% of the students belonged to the “Low” category; as a result, 33% of the students met the passing grade while 67% of the students did not meet the passing grade. The research in the first cycle improved the students’ critical thinking skills and thus 14% of the students belonged to the “Very High” category, 57% of the students belonged to the “High” category, and 29% of the students belonged to the “Low” category. Following up the improvement, the learning results of the students showed that 64% of the students met the passing grade whereas 36% of the students did not meet the passing grade. In the second cycle, the students’ critical thinking skills also improved since 86% of the students belonged to the “Very High” category and 14% of the students belonged to the “High” category. Thus, the students’ learning results improved as well with 82% of the students met the passing grade and 18% of the students did not meet the passing grade.

This study aims to produce science learning tools that are valid, practical, and effective which consists of syllabus, lesson plan, teaching material, student activity sheets, and test sheets to improve the critical thinking skills of elementary students. This research was carried out using the 4-D model of adaptation Ibrahim, M., which is define, design, developing, disseminate and tested in class V of Jiken Elementary School, Kedondong I Elementary School, Sudimoro Elementary School, school year 2019/2020 with One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis techniques used are quantitative and qualitative descriptive. The results shows: 1) valid, according to the validity of the three validators with valid categories, 2) practical, in accordance with the level of observers seen from the activity of students increasing at each meeting and implementation of RPP, 3) effective, seen from appearing significantly different from the pretest and posttest test students' critical thinking and positive student responses. Based on the results of data analysis, it can be concluded that the development of science learning tools oriented in guided inquiry is valid, practical, and effective for improving critical thinking skills of elementary students.

This research is motivated by mathematical critical thinking skills and students' learning independence that is not yet optimal becomes something that teachers need to pay attention to their students by providing an appropriate learning model to foster this. Based on the 2013 curriculum advocates the development of learning outcomes in cognitive and affective components developed simultaneously and proportionally. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Jigsaw type cooperative learning models on mathematical critical thinking skills and student learning independence. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research. This study uses a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The research instrument was tested for validation by content validation before being trialled. Data analysis techniques in this study were Multavariate Normality Test, Covariance Matter Homogeneity Test, Hotelling Trace T2 Test and t Test. In the preliminary data analysis, which was taken from the daily test scores and scale sheets of the pretest attitude of students' learning independence, showed there was no difference in the average mathematical critical thinking ability and student learning independence between the experimental class and the control class. In the final data analysis taken from the posttest, it can be concluded that the average mathematical critical thinking ability that uses the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model is better than the conventional learning model. But the results of the study also showed the average independence of student learning using the Jigsaw type cooperative learning model is the same as the conventional learning model.

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills through the application of learning materials with the PBL-SETS method. They were developed with the 4D model. This research is pre-experimental used one group pretest and posttest design. Data collection methods used validation, observation, and test. The data analysis technique used is the paired sample T-test. The learning materials have a very valid category and it can be used to improve critical thinking skills. The average critical thinking post-test score is 84 with an N-Gain of 0.7 which categorize as medium, while the overall student completeness reached 87%. The results of data analysis show that t-count = -21,967 and t-table = 1,693 (at df 32 and the significance level of 0.05). Research shows that the use of PBL with the SETS method affects increasing critical thinking skills. The responses of students towards learning by 88% (very good). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that learning materials of the PBL model with the SETS method can improve the students’ critical thinking skill on fluid dynamic topic. PBL with SETS learning is expected to be able to make students more actively in the process of problem solving directly so that students are easier to develop critical thinking skill. From the indicator of critical thinking skills, students can more easily understand the concept and develop their critical thinking skill.

This research is motivated by the low ability of students to think critically. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of the Controversial Issues (CI) learning model in improving students' critical thinking skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The study design used Nonequivalent [Pre-Test and Post-Test] Control Groups Design (NCGD). The research samples were fourth grade students of SDN 4 Metro Timur, SDN 5 Metro Timur, SDN 8 Metro Timur, and SDN 10 Metro Timur, 60 students were used as the experimental class and 60 students were used as the control class. Data collection tools in the form of sheets about students' critical thinking skills. Data collection techniques in the form of tests, namely pretest to measure the initial ability of students' critical thinking skills and posttest to see the final ability. Based on the results of the study concluded that the effectiveness of the use of the Controversial Issues learning model affects the critical thinking skills of class IV elementary school students, so that students' critical thinking skills in the experimental class are much better when compared to the control class that has conventional learning.
