This study analyzes Peruvian Business School students’ experiences with emergency remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. We used the critical incident technique (CIT) to explore the salient factors on which students based their satisfaction and dissatisfaction with their online education. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with 27 MBA students. The results comprised 56 incidents – 25 satisfactory and 31 unsatisfactory – in the two major categories of Virtuality and the Teaching-Learning Process. This study contributes a new perspective on online education through the analysis, conducted through CIT, of the Peruvian Business School students’ experiences with online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the most relevant positive incidents included the recording of classes to review them later; the existence of Learning Management Systems to support the development of online materials; the possibility of entering online classes instead of in-person classes, as well as the flexibility with regard to location. The study allows us to determine several critical aspects in the two identified categories that should be considered when improving future online or hybrid programs.

The purpose of this study is to produce a learning strategy formulation through ICT media based on Emergency Remote Learning (ERL) in an effort to strengthen post-pandemic learning and support the Merdeka Belajar program. This study uses a theoretical and methodological research approach, which mostly uses a deductive theoretical and qualitative methodological approach, including the SWOT matrix analysis. The structural questionnaire link was designed using a 'Google form' which was sent to 500 high school students and teachers. The test results show that the level of student satisfaction in ICT Adaptation on ERL Based Learning obtained that students are satisfied with the ICT Adaptation on ERL Based Learning experience and no serious obstacles were found during the teaching-learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic except for inadequate interaction between students and teachers, as well as social interaction between students. Alternative strategies in the ICT adaptation on ERL-Based learning formulated using a SWOT matrix analysis approach have been presented with the hope that policymakers feel more confident in their decision-making.

This research focuses on teaching–learning behavior in the online environment under crisis conditions, such as those caused by COVID-19. Data were collected from 427 participants from Central and Eastern Europe and North and Central Asia. An integrative mixed method design was used, combining components of both qualitative and quantitative research. The research method used was the inquiry based on a semi-structured questionnaire, which combined closed items with open-ended and semi-structured interviews. The quantitative results revealed significant differences between professors and students regarding the self-reported adaptability level, creativity, need for help in online teaching–learning, and collaboration with colleagues for solving problems in the online teaching–learning medium. The opinions of professors do not differ from those of students regarding the advantages, disadvantages, vulnerable areas, and aspects of online education. Thematic analysis, used to analyze the qualitative data, emphasized the participants’ perceptions of online teaching–learning efficiency in crises. Based on the results, it was concluded that the aspects that need to become a priority in online education concern mainly the didactic quality of the learning experience.

Video-based learning has recently gained popularity as one of the numerous choices in remote education approaches during the pandemic that differs from conventional face-to-face lecture-based education. However, video-based learning and online teaching were different and quite challenging for students, especially when studying statistics and it is conducted remotely. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to assess student satisfaction with video-based learning on statistical topics. This study was conducted with 357 foundations of science students in the Preparatory Centre for Science and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Sabah. An independently developed questionnaire focusing on four factors, namely teaching, learning, technology, and skills, was given to students, and the results were then analysed. Based on the questionnaire the range of the mean is 4.54 – 4.87, which suggested that the video-based learning on statistical topics had an overall positive outcome on student satisfaction. Mostly, students scored higher mean scores for the items under the factor of teaching than for the items under the other three factors. This study also discovered that video-based learning relied on teaching, learning, and skills rather than the technology itself. However, technology continues to be a critical platform for educators’ educational activities. Therefore, this study demonstrated the critical significance of meeting the rising demand for online education, particularly video-based learning, while still providing a compelling student learning experience.

Integrating knowledge and education has become a major issue in Malaysia in the context of globalization. This study develops a teacher-centered Qur’anic methodology based on the integration of acquired (‘aqlī) and revealed (naqlī) knowledge as regards content, as well as the integration of teachers’ role in a teaching-learning process designed to empower students to manage “self” and “system.” It further investigates the existing curriculum and institutional efforts to integrate these two types of knowledge, students’ understanding of the integrated knowledge and its learning process, as well as how the teachers and lecturers understand this integrated knowledge and apply it to their teaching methods. Data collected through interviews and surveys of participating school students and teachers, as well as university students and lecturers, revealed several issues that need to be addressed.
