Data regarding personal hygiene habits were collected in April-May 2020, it used Google Forms sent via WhatsApp application to the students and in-depth interviews with the student caregivers. Data analysis using chi-square test, presented in tables and narrative. Results: The results showed that 42.9% of students had symptoms of scabies and there was a significant relationship between personal hygiene and symptoms of scabies, especially in habit of scratching (P value = 0.000) and the habit of using clothes, towels, as well as prayer tools together (P value = 0.012). Conclusion: The habit of scratching body parts with nails and using clothes, towels and, prayer tools alternately could be risk factors for the transmission of scabies to students. Students should have good personal hygiene and not share their personal equipment such as clothes, towels, and, prayer tools. The health problems are frequently arise in Islamic boarding school (pesantren) such as the multiple occurrence of infectious diseases. This condition is due to poor hygiene behavior and is exacerbated by the condition of the students’ dormitory environment. One of the alarming health problems in pesantren is Leuchorrea. This study aimed to investigate the correlation between vaginal hygiene behavior and the presence of Candida sp on bathroom water of Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya. This study was an observational study with cross sectional design. The study participants were 100 students selected by using simple random sampling. The correlation between vaginal hygiene behavior and Leucorrhea was analyzed by using Chi-Square Test (α=0,1). The presence of Candida in bathroom water was analyzed descriptively. The result of this study showed that 48 students (48%) were suffering from pathological leucorrhea. Vaginal hygiene behaviors associated to pathological leucorrhea were including of the frequency of changing underwear, p value = 0,014 < α(0,1); the habit of wearing underwear alternately, p value= 0,012 < α(0,01);  student’s way to wash the vagina, p value= 0,001 < α(0,01), the use of tissue after washing the vagina, p value= 0,097 < α(0,01); and the frequency of changing sanitary pads, p value = 0,001 <α(0,1). Candida sp, Candida krusei, and Candida Parapsilosis were found in the bathroom water. The conclusion of this study is some of the vaginal hygiene behaviors were significantly correlated with to pathological leucorrhea, and the presence of Candida sp in bathroom water had a potential to be one of the risk factors of pathological leucorrhea of the boarding school’s students.

This research was analytic correlational with cross sectional study approach. The independent variable was knowledge about covid-19, while the dependent variable was the timeliness of basic immunization in infants. The population were all parents who had infants as many as 87 parents. This study using simple random sampling. The sample size was 71 parents. The instruments were maternal and child health book and questionnaires. The data were analyzed using chi square test. The results showed that p value 0.001 < 0.05 that there were any correlation of knowledge about covid-19 and the timeliness of basic immunization  in  infants.  The  sufficient  knowledge  of  parents  about  covid-19  made parents  hesitate  to  immunize  their  infants.  Providing  basic  immunization  to  infants during a pandemic is not prohibited as long as they comply with health protocols.

Scabies is caused by infestation and sensitization of Sarcoptes scabiei hominis varieties. Scabies is easily transmitted to individuals who live in groups such as boarding schools. Knowledge of scabies that is lacking and low in individual hygiene among student causes a transmission to be faster and wider. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the characteristics, level of knowledge and individual hygiene of the student with the occurrence of scabies at the Miftahul Ulum Islamic Boarding School in Kalisat District, Jember Regency. This study used an observational analytical method with cross-sectional. Of the population of 358 students, 229 students were willing to become respondents. The results showed that 105 students (45.9%) suffered from scabies. The chi-square test results showed the characteristics of respondents such as gender, pruritus complaints, pruritus onset when entering the hut, treatment history was associated with the incidence of scabies (p <0.05). Risk factors for individual hygiene in the form of using towels alternately and washing towels together were also associated with the incidence of scabies (p <0.05). Bivariate analysis at the level of individual knowledge and hygiene as a whole showed no significant association with the incidence of scabies (p> 0.05). The result of multiple logistic regression test showed 2 variables, namely, sex and pruritus onset when entering the lodge significantly associated with the incidence of scabies (p <0.05). Scabiesis is a highly contagious skin disease caused by Sarcoptes scabiei from hominis mite variant. This disease frequently attacks groups of humans and who live together such as in penitentiary. This study aims to identify the correlation between personal hygiene and the existence of Sarcoptes scabiei on sleeping mats dust with the incidence of scabiesis infection  amongst prisoners at IIB Class Penitentiary, Jombang, Indonesia. The design of this study was cross sectional. The population in this study were 638 persons with the sample size of 85 participants obtained by adopting stratified random sampling method. The statistical analysis used to find correlation between variables was Chi Square test. The results showed that most of respondents (65.9%) had good personal hygiene. There were 5 samples of dust on prisoner’s sleeping mats found with positive Sarcoptes scabiei. Based on examination by doctors, most of respondents suffered from scabiesis (74.1%). Chi square test results showed that there was a significant correlation between personal hygiene and the incidence of scabies with P value (0.001) < α(0.05) and there was no significant  correlation between the existence of Sarcoptes scabiei in sleeping mats dust and scabiesis incidence with P value (0.321) > α(0.05). The conclusion of this study was that most respondents already have good personal hygiene, and only the cleanliness of hands and feet were still not good. The results of the dust sample on sleeping mats showed that the existence of Sarcoptes scabei were low However, these findings do not undermine the alertness that sleeping mats has a potential risk sources of scabiesis transmission in penitentiary. Counseling about personal hygiene should be improved, especially hand and feet hygiene. Eradication of scabiesis should be done thoroughly for larger population not only for scabiesis sufferers.
