The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of focus strategy-firm structure fit on the performance of star-rated hotels in Kenya. The study adopted the positivism research philosophy and descriptive-correlative research design. Multi-stage sampling that included proportionate stratified sampling and simple random sampling was used. The sample consisted of 267 general managers and functional managers from Kenya’s three, four and five star rated vacation and town hotels as in 2018. 253 managers responded out of which 59 respondents were found to represent hotels pursuing a focus strategy. Structural equation modeling was used for hypothesis testing. The study concluded that focus strategy-firm structure fit has a significant influence on the performance of star-rated hotels in Kenya. The study recommends that a hotel’s pursuit of focus strategy be internally consistent with its organizational structure.

It is estimated that emerging economies will get over 1 billion international tourists by the year 2030. Strategic management researchers have severally recommended credible research in the area of strategy-structure coalignment in the hospitality industry. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of differentiation strategy-firm structure coalignment on performance of star rated hotels in Kenya. This study adopted positivism research philosophy and a descriptive-correlative research design. The population consisted of general managers and functional managers from Kenya’s three, four and five star rated vacation and town hotels as at 2018. Multi-stage sampling that included proportionate stratified sampling and simple random sampling was used. 267 hotel managers were sampled out of which 253 managers responded. The extent to which the hotels were pursuing differentiation strategy was measured by an analysis of the responses to the multi-item Likert scale questionnaire. Structural equation modeling was used for hypothesis testing. The study concluded that differentiation strategy-firm structure coalignment has no significant influence on performance of star rated hotels in Kenya. The study however revealed that differentiation strategy directly and positively affects hotel performance. This study recommends hotel managers to pursue a differentiation strategy that sets their hotel apart from others as this has direct positive effects on the performance of hotels.

The purpose of this study was to assess the influence of cost leadership strategy and firm structure coalignment on firm performance of star rated hotels in Kenya. The research philosophy adopted was positivism and the research design was descriptive and correlative. The population consisted of senior managers from star rated hotels listed by the Tourism Regulatory Authority of Kenya as at 2018. Sampling techniques used in the study were proportionate stratified sampling and simple random sampling. 267 hotel managers were sampled. 253 managers responded out of which 103 respondents were found to represent cost leadership hotels. Hypothesis was tested using structural equation modeling. The study concluded that cost leadership strategy and firm structure coalignment has significant and positive influence on performance of star rated hotels in Kenya. The study recommends hotel managers to ensure a match between the pursuit of cost leadership strategy and the choice of firm structure.

In a bid to contribute to the increasing body of extant interdisciplinary research within the antecedents of university performance and strategic management domains, this study investigates the role of generic strategies in the perceived performance of universities. Using a case study of eight Nigerian universities and survey responses from 380 academics and administrative staff from these universities, the study tested four succinct hypotheses using the covariance structural equation modeling (CB-SEM) technique. Findings revealed that while there was a limited link between differentiation strategy and performance, there was a substantially strong link between focus strategy and performance according to the findings. Similarly, findings revealed that respondents from public-private universities perceived their institutions as having the strongest generic strategy-performance connection, followed by respondents from the public sector. The cost leadership-performance path demonstrated no significant effect.

Investors do not always think rationally but sometimes think irrational. Decision-making based on irrational thinking is influenced by a psychological bias which often leads to wrong decisions. This study aims to find empirical evidence of the influence of representativeness, availability, anchoring, risk perception, and herding on the investment decisions of sharia investors who open stock accounts at Phintraco Sekuritas Semarang. The population in this study were investors who have opened Islamic stock accounts at Phintraco Sekuritas Semarang. The sample is respondents who have opened Islamic stock accounts at Phintraco Sekuritas Semarang. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling and data collection techniques used a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results showed that representativeness, anchoring, risk perception, and herding have a significant positive effect on the investment decisions of Islamic investors. Meanwhile, the availability variable does not affect investment decisions in Islamic investors.

Kinerja karyawan merupakan kunci sukses dari keberhasilan perusahaan, maka dari itu karyawan dituntut profesional, integritas serta produktif dalam pencapaian kerjanya. Agar tujuan perusahaan dapat tercapai secara efisien dan efektif. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menguji upaya meningkatkan kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi. Keterbaharuan dalam penelitian ini adalah belum diketemukan penelitian sebelumnya yang membahas mengenai upaya meningkatkan kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi pada perusahaan yang bergerak di bidang distribusi di Serang. Batasan dalam penelitian ini hanya untuk melakukan analisis besarnya pengaruh upaya meningkatkan kinerja karyawan melalui motivasi. Metode penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan menggunakan alat bantuan kuesioner dengan skala Likert 10 poin dan teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara simple random sampling. Jumlah sampel yang dipergunakan sebanyak 40 buah untuk menguji tiga (5) hipotesis yang telah ditetapkan. Model Structural Equation Modeling dipergunakan untuk menguji signifikansi statistik koefisien jalur. Temuan hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa motivasi mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Motivasi mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Budaya organisasi mempunyai pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja karyawan. Implikasi temuan membuktikan bahwa kedisiplinan dapat meningkatkan kinerja karyawan secara tidak langsung pengaruhnya melalui motivasi

Exploration of the antecedents of performance with the support of good leadership and compensation as well as the support of high work motivation is the purpose of this study. The quantitative paradigm is an approach in this study that seeks to explore the triggers for high performance, the population in this study is the entire employee at Pt Bank Sulselbar in Makassar as many as 256 people, the sampling technique uses a simple random sampling method with a total sample of 156 people. The analysis used in testing the hypothesis is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the help of WarpPLS Software version, 6.0. The results of this analysis show that there is a direct relationship between leadership constructs that have an influence on performance, compensation also has a direct influence on performance and motivation has a direct influence on performance variables, leadership directly has a direct relationship to performance and compensation also has a positive effect on motivation, Leadership indirectly affects performance through motivation as a mediator, motivation cannot mediate between the relationship between leadership and performance.

Train users in Indonesia began to increase, it can be seen from the data of passengers as a whole increased from year to year. These improvements must be supported with the customer perceived value, because it will affect of rail users. Long distance train in Indonesia distinguished its kind, namely the executive, business and economics. In this study, it more emphasis on the train executives, especially in Java. Issues examined here is whether the customer perceived value have an influence on satisfaction and commitment resulting in loyalty. This affects the sustainability of a rail business, because the level of competition arise among existing transportation, whether by air, land or sea. Sampling was done by simple random sampling, the number of respondents was 323. The instrument was tested with reliability and validity. The data used to answer the problem by using structural equation modeling with six hypotheses were tested. The results indicate that the hypothesis occurs between the customer perceived value influence consumer satisfaction and commitment. The effect between satisfaction and commitment to loyalty shows that satisfaction has no effect on loyalty, commitment while consumers have an influence on loyalty.

<p>Investasi sektor keuangan merupakan salah satu alternatif investasi yang cocok untuk Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS).  Penelitian ini berusaha menganalisis faktor yang mempengaruhi minat berinvestasi serta menemukan faktor yang menyebabkan masih rendahnya tingkat investasi sektor ini di kalangan PNS dengan menggunakan dasar <em>Theory Planned of Behavior </em>dengan menambahkan faktor bias konfirmasi. Populasi penelitian adalah Pegawai Negeri Sipil yang bekerja pada Kantor Pelayanan Pajak di Semarang dengan jabatan <em>Account Representative. </em>Sampel penelitian sejumlah 120 yang penentuannya menggunakan <em>simple random sampling. </em>Data yang terkumpulkan dari hasil kuesioner dianalisis menggunakan <em>Structural Equation Modeling</em> (SEM) dengan menggunakan software amos ver.21.0.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat investasi dipengaruhi oleh sikap berperilaku, norma subjektif, kontrol perilaku, dan bias konfirmasi. Penelitian menemukan bahwa minat investasi tidak memediasi pengaruh sikap berperilaku, norma subjektif, kontrol perilaku, dan bias konfirmasi terhadap keputusan investasi. Temuan penelitan memperlihatkan bahwa keputusan investasi di kalangan PNS dipengaruhi oleh sikap berperilaku dan kontrol perilaku .</p><p><em>         Investment finance sector is one of the alternative investments that are suitable for Civil Servants (PNS). This research seeks to analyze the factors that affect interest to invest and find the factors that led to the low level of investment this sector among civil servants using the basic Theory of Planned Behavior by adding a factor of confirmation bias. The study population is a Civil Servant who worked on the Tax Office in Semarang with positions Account Representative. The research sample number 120 that determination using simple random sampling. Data were collected from questionnaires were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) by using software amos ver.21.0. The results showed that the investment intentions are influenced by the attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and confirmation bias. The study found that investment intentions are not mediating influence behaved attitude toward the behavior, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and confirmation bias towards investment decision. The findings of the research show that the investment decisions among civil servants behave is influenced by the attitude toward the behavior and perceived behavioral control.</em></p>

The purpose of this study is to determine how price, service quality, customer satisfaction on customer loyalty and how much influence, price, service quality on customer satisfaction which has implications for customer loyalty. The sample used in this study amounted to 100 respondents who were taken by simple random sampling technique. Data analysis in this study used Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) which was carried out with the help of the SEM program from Smart PLS 3.0. Besides, this research also proves that the price variable will affect customer satisfaction, then the price will also affect customer loyalty, as well as service quality affects customer satisfaction and will also affect customer loyalty. and also the mediating variable of customer satisfaction which will affect customer loyalty. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh modal sosial terhadap kesejahteraan ekonomi keluarga di daerah perdesaan Kabupaten Kerinci. Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Kerinci dengan memilih dua kecamatan, yaitu: Kecamatan Keliling Danau, dan Kecamatan Batang Merangin. Waktu penelitian secara keseluruhan dilakukan dari bulan Juni sampai dengan bulan Nopember 2012. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 132 keluarga atau 10 persen dari populasi (1.316 keluarga) yang diambil secara berturut-turut dengan cara cluster, purposive, dan simple random sampling. Variabel penelitian: (1) kesejahteraan ekonomi keluarga (kesejahteraan objektif, dan kesejahteraan subjektif, dan (2) Modal sosial (asosiasi lokal dan karakter masyarakat). Analisis data menggunakan model Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) melalui program LISREL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modal sosial (asosiasi lokal dan karakter masyarakat) responden tergolong kuat. Mengacu kepada alokasi pengeluaran, tingkat ekonomi petani di daerah penelitian tergolong relatif kaya dengan distribusi keluarga yang tergolong pada kelompok sejahtera mencapai 78,8 persen, sedangkan kelompok miskin hanya 21,2 persen. Modal sosial (asosiasi lokal dan karakter masyarakat) baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung berpengaruh positif sangat nyata terhadap kesejahteraan ekonomi keluarga.The objectives of this study is to analyze the effect of social capital on family economic well-being in rural areas of Kerinci regency. The research design is cross sectional and was carried out in Batang Merangin and Keliling Danau districts from June to Nopember 2012. Variables used are social capital (local associations and community character), and family economic well-being both objective and subjective economic well-being. 132 household samples are chosen using cluster, purposive and random sampling methods. Data were collected using survay, indepth interview, and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). Descriptive, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) models were used for data analyzed. The results show that social capital (local associations and community character) contained in the study area as strong. Referring to the allocation of family expenditure, the economic level of family in the study area are relatively wealthy families with distributions belonging to the prosperous group reached 78.8 percent, while only the poor families as much as 21.2 percent. Social capital (local associations and community character) both directly and indirectly has a significant effect on family economic well-being.
