Malnutrition in the hospital is a condition that needs to be watched out for because it affects the length of stay and healing process of hospitalized patients. Until now, the prevalence of malnutrition in the hospital is still high in both adult and pediatric patients. Malnutrition screening is required while the patient will be hospitalized. It is necessary to research the accuracy of STRONGKids (Screening tools for risk on nutritional status and growth) as a malnutrition screening in pediatric patients in hospitals, especially at Sanjiwani General Hospital Gianyar percentage of malnutrition in hospitals at Sanjiwani Gianyar Hospital so that they receive early treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of STRONGKids as a screening test for malnutrition in the hospital for children at Sanjiwani General Hospital Gianyar. This research uses a design cross-sectional by the diagnostic test method. Data taken from medical records. Data collection method with consecutive sampling. The number of samples is 40 subjects. The inclusion criteria were children aged one month - 18 years and hospitalized at Sanjiwani Gianyar Hospital. The exclusion criteria were incomplete medical record data, and subjects were categorized as obese or obese on the medical record. The data analysis technique used the SPSS computer program. STRONGKids data are presented in 2 x 2 table form Chi-square. The results obtained were the percentage of hospital malnutrition of 9.8%. STRONGKids with a cutoff value of 1 had a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 35.1%. So, the STRONGKids score has fairly high sensitivity, so that the use of the STRONGKids score in combination with anthropometric measurements can be used to detect malnutrition in hospitals. Keywords: sensitivity, STRONGKids, child malnutrition

Effectiveness of Post-Operative Analgesia on Pediatric Patients in the recovery room of Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung from June to November 2018Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience. Pain assessment is an important part of pain management. The main causes of acute pain in children are surgical procedures, trauma, and acute diseases. This study aimed to study the effectuIveness of postoperative analgesics in pediatric patients in the recovery room of Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung from June to November 2018. This was a prospective observational descriptive study on 471 postoperative pediatric patients in recovery rooms. The research subjects were grouped based on the type of surgery pain, i.e. mild, moderate, and severe. The type of postoperative analgesics given and assessment of pain during the stay in the recovery room were recorded to see the effectiveness of the postoperative analgesic drug. From the results of the study it was identified that the of postoperative analgesics was effective for 181 patients (99.5%) in the mild pain surgery group, for 231 patients (98.7%) in the moderate pain surgery, and for 53 patients (96.4%)  in severe pain surgery. It is concluded that the postoperative analgesics provided to pediatric patients at Dr. Hasan Sadikin General Hospital Bandung is still less effective because it has not met the target of 100% pain free set by the hospital and that analgesic administration is also not efficient because there are still many discrepancies in analgesic choices and the degree of pain.

Background. Septic shock is a common pediatric emergency with a high mortality rate. Objective. The purpose of this study was to determine the clinical profile and outcome of septic shock in pediatric patients treated at PICU of DR. M. Djamil Padang State General Hospital. Method. This descriptive study used data from medical records, conducted in the Medical Record Department of DR. M. Djamil Padang State General Hospital. The target population was pediatric patients which was diagnosed with septic shock in PICU through 2015 - 2017. Samples were collected by the total sampling technique. Result. During the following study of ninety-one patients septic and forty-eight having septic shock. Children having septic shock were commonly under one year of age, female, low nutritional status, having central neuron system infection of Klebsiella sp, having less than two organ dysfunctions with clinical manifestations of Hyperthermia, Tachycardia, and Tachypnea. Hematological profile found that patients commonly had anemia, leukocytosis, thrombocytopenia, and normal I/T ratio. Shock septic outcomes were found high mortality rate, almost some patients use a ventilator, high inotropic usage, and length of stay in living patients compared to dead. Conclusion. The study concluded that prevalence Septic Shock pediatric still high with higher mortality and also morbidity

Background: Doctors must be able to quickly and accurately assess clinical condition of patients, especially in the emergency rooms. An easy scoring system but producing meaningful clinical conclusions is the reason for creating various scoring systems. Includes a scoring system for predicting the admission status of patients. Aim: To determine the diagnostic value of POPS and EWSS to predicting admission status of pediatric patients in the emergency department. Methods: Diagnostic tests for POPS and EWSS were done to predict the admission status of pediatric patients in the emergency department of Haji Adam Malik general hospital from May to October 2020. Subjects aged 1 month to 18 years were excluded if they left the emergency department prior to assessment, had trauma cases, died, inpatients due to social indications, and patients who came only to continue therapy were also excluded. POPS and EWSS assessments were carried out by the researcher and the admission status of the patients were determined by the doctor in charge in the emergency department. Results: There were 119 children meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. POPS score ≥3 had sensitivity 82.65%, specificity 85.71%, and AUC 0.88 (p <0.001). EWSS score ≥2 had sensitivity 83.67%, specificity 71.43%, and AUC 0.83 (p <0.001). Conclusion: POPS and EWSS had good diagnostic values in predicting the admission status of pediatric patients in the emergency department. POPS has a slightly higher diagnostic value than EWSS.

Objective: Determining the relationship between the change of high-sensitivity Troponin T concentration with the degree of infection, mortality, and positive blood culture in sepsis. Patients and Methods: based on 39 pediatric patients who were diagnosed sepsis at Pediatric department of Binh Dinh General Hospital, from 4/2012 -7/2013. Results: Hs-Troponin T concentrations increased in 84.6% of patients with a median of 29.9 pg/ml and quartile is 17.9 to 112.9. There isn’t significant difference statistically hs-Troponin T levels according to age of patients with p >0.05. There is a moderate positive relationship between the hs-Troponin T concentration with the severity of sepsis (rs = 0.39, p <0.05). There is a statistically significant correlation between increased hs-Troponin T levels with mortality of sepsis with p <0.01. There is a statistically significant correlation between increased hs-Troponin T levels with positive blood culture in sepsis with p<0.05. Conclusion: There is statistically significant relationship between the hs-Troponin T concentration with the degree of of infection, mortality, and positive blood culture in sepsis. Key words: Troponin T, sepsis

Introduction: Ileostomy is needed as an important part of the management of several congenital disorders of the intestine. One of the indication of ileostomy in children is short bowel syndrome, which is caused by intestinal atresia such as ileal atresia and intussusception. Ileostomy is a surgery procedure which consists of creating holes on abdominal walls to release stool. The objective of this study was to determine the description of pediatric patients who underwent ileostomy in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. Methods: This was a retrospective descriptive study on medical records in the Central Medical Record Department of Pediatrics and General Surgery Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya from January 2017 to December 2018. Results: There were 26 pediatric patients who underwent ileostomy in Dr. Soetomo General Hospital Surabaya. Samples from male patients consisted of 57.7%, while female patients consisted of 42.3% with the most common age group was neonates with 57.7%, infants 30.8%, and toddlers 11.5%. There were 30.7% patients with 2.0-2.9 kg body weight, 27% with 3.0-3.9 kg body weight, and 42.3% with more than 4 kg body weight. The outcome showed that repair was needed, or the patient was discharged with periodic follow-up after ileostomy. Conclusion: Ileostomy was performed mostly in neonates with average weight within normal body mass index (BMI) and the highest incidence of pediatric patient with ileum stoma was in pediatric patients.
