Culture of ornamental corals applying transplantation technique was aimed to know the successful of this transplantation technique in the ornamental coral culture based on its growth and survival rate of various coral fragments. The location of the medium settlement was in the western side of the waters of Tonyaman Village, Binuang Subdistrict, Polewali Mandar Regency with 3-4 meter depth during low tide. One of coral species i.e. Acropora  sp with 48 fragments was put on 4 transplantation tables. During the experiment, cleaning of fungi and biofouling at the transplant tables and the culture tables. Measurements of the absolute growth and survival rate were done at the 21st day using calliphers and numbers of dead and live fragments were counted directly. Coral transplantation workshop for ornamental coral culture was attended by 4 fisherman groups with total 23 participants. This event was understood by the training participants from the seed selection to the monitoring. Number of coral fragment cultured was 48 fragments obtained from one of stony corals (Scleractania), i.e. Acropora  sp. The range of survival rate that has been cultured for 21 days was adequately high i.e. 91.7 – 100 %. The highest survival rate was observed at the transplant table B, i.e. 100%, whereas, the table A, C, and D were 91.7 %. Average absolute growth of the coral Acropora  sp cultured during this study were ranged from 4.2 – 4.9 mm/month. Aaverage absolute growth was found at table transplant B and C, while the lowest value was observed at the transplant table D.Keywords: cultivation, ornamental coral, transplantation technique, Tonyaman

This research was conducted at Hatchery Fishery Laboratory in University of Muhammadiyah Malang on February 15 - March 17, 2018. The purpose of this research was to identify the meat bone meal (MBM) and poltry by-product (PBM) test on granule and the best treatment to the growth and survival rate of Eel (Anguilla bicolor) stadia elver. The method used was experiemental by Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with 3 different treatments on granule composition, P1 (Commercial Granule), P2 (70% Commercial Granule  and 30% MBM), P3 (70% Commercial Granule and 30% PBM), and each treatment done repeatedly three times. Furthermore, the data were analyzed by ANAVA and continued with BNT test. The results of this study indicated that the meat bone meal (MBM) and poltry by-product (PBM) test on granule had a significant effect on the absolute growth rate, a very significant effect on DGR, and not significantly different on Eel. The absolute best growth rate was on P2 2.24 ± 0.71. The best DGR was on P1 (5.55 ± 0.33). Based on the research results, it was concluded that feeding the granule based on meat bone meal increased the growth and survival rate, and also could be the substitution granule for Eel ( Anguilla bicolor). Keywords: Anguilla bicolor, MBM, PBM, Growth

Pratama et al, 2018. The Effect of Different C/N Ratio in for Biofloc of Formation Culture Media to the Growth and Survival Rate of Juvenile Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus). JLSO 7(1): Climbing perch fish resources still have a problem due to this fish is still obtained only through capture and also the growth of climbing perch fish is slow. The solutions to increase the growth of the climbing perch fish is by applying biofloc technology for climbing perch fish culture. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of different C/N ratio on the growth of climbing perch fish (Anabas testudineus) juvenille with biofloc farming system. This research used a completely randomized design consist of four treatments and three replications. The treatments were without molase (P0), molase with C/N ratio 15 (P1), C/N 20 (P2) and C/N ratio 25 (P3). The results showed that C / N ratio 20 was the best treatment with absolute length of growth of 1.33 cm, absolute growth of weight 1.92 g, survival rate of 99.17% and feed efficiency 138.06%.

The aim of this research is to know the effect of fertilization and density on survival rate and the absolute growth of post-larvae of shrimp vanname (Litopenaeus vannamei). The study was conducted from 18 August to 5 September 2013 at Oensuli ponds, Kabangka, Muna Regency, Indonesia. The research used animal test of vaname shrimp stadium PL6, a fertilizer of Urea and TSP. The study used styrofoam container, 75 cm long, 37 cm wide, and 27 cm high. Research using Factorial RAL, fertilization and density used three levels, three replications, so that the experiment of 27 units. The fertilizer treatment consisted of no-fertilizer (Control), combination Urea 0.5 g/TSP 0.7 g (P2), combination Urea 0.7 g/TSP 0.9 g (P3). The density treatment consists of density 9 ind/container (Control), density 14 ind/container (KP2) and density 19 ind/container (KP3). Parameters observed survival rate (SR) and absolute growth (G). Data analysis using ANOVA (a0,05) with IBM SPSS Statistic 22. The results showed that fertilization and stocking density had a significant effect on survival and post larvae growth of vaname shrimp. The optimum use of 0.7 g/TSP 0.9 g urea per container. The optimum fertilizer composition of growth was Urea 0.5 g/TSP 0.7 g per container. The best survival rate through a combination of Urea 0.7 g/TSP 0.9 g, density 9 ind per container, equivalent Urea 26 kg/TSP 33 kg density 333.000 ind per ha. The best growth through a combination of Urea 0.5 g/TSP 0.7 g, density 9 ind per container or Urea 19 kg/TSP 26 kg, density 333.000 ind per ha.

<p class="NoParagraphStyle" align="center"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p class="NoParagraphStyle" align="center"> </p><p class="NoParagraphStyle">This research aimed to obtain information of growth and survival of green catfish (<em>Mystus nemurus</em>) juvenile fed with sludge worm (<em>Tubifex</em> sp.; T) and artificial diet (PB) and added with the combination of 50% soybean pulp waste and 50% freshwater trash fish. Feeding was performed in several variation of time during 40 days of fish rearing. Average body length of juvenile was 12 mm and weight 2.8±0.0 mg, maintained at a density of 30 individuals/aquarium. The treatment in this research was T10PB30 (8–18 days old juvenile were fed with sludge worm and 18–48 days old fish were fed with artificial diet), T20PB20 (8–28 days old juvenile were fed with sludge worm and 28–48 days old were fed with artificial diet), T30PB10 (8–38 days old juvenile were fed with sludge worm and 38–48 days old were given artificial diet), PB40 (8–48 days old juvenile were fed artificial diet), T40 (8–48 days old juvenile were fed with sludge worm). The results indicated that the treatment of 40 days feeding with sludge worm provided the best growth and survival as daily growth rate of 16.4±28.0 g/day, the growth of the absolute length was 43.60±0.01 mm, the absolute body weight 2,047.2±35.0 mg and the survival rate was 96.44%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan lama waktu pemberian cacing sutra dan pakan buatan yang terbaik adalah pemberian pakan cacing sutra selama 40 hari dengan laju pertumbuhan harian 16,4±28,0 g/hari, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak 43,60±0,01 mm, bobot mutlak 2.047,2±35,0 mg, dan sintasan 96,44%. Abstract The feed is one of the most important factors in the growth and survival of fish. One of the efforts made to increase the growth and survival of fish is the provision of herbal supplements in fish feed. The research aim is to provide information about the utilization of herbal supplements on the growth and survival of catfish (Clarias sp). This research has been carried out from July to August 2020 at Bandar Agung Lahat Village, South Sumatera. Catfish rearing containers use two waring units placed in concrete ponds with two treatment that P0: control (without herbal supplements) and P1: utilization of herbal supplements and. The data taken includes absolute growth and absolute length, survival, feed efficiency, and water quality. The utilization of herbal supplements has a good effect on fish growth, feed efficiency, and survival rate. Maintenance of P0 (control) resulted in an absolute weight of 9.79 grams, an absolute length of 6.3 cm, the survival of 85.15%, feed efficiency of 107.89% while maintenance of P1 with the utilization of herbal supplements resulted in an absolute weight of 14.17 grams, an absolute length 7.8 cm, survival 98.57%, feed efficiency 161.170%.

Inland swamp water has low pH value 3-4, there fore is not suitable for striped catfish culture. Liming is one of the efforts to increase the pH of water. This research aims to increase the swamp water pH for survival rate and grow of catfish. This research used a completely randomized design four treatments and three replications with doses of 0,6 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P1), 0,9 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P2), 1,2 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P3) and 1,5 kg.m-2 equvalent to CaCO3 (P4). The parameters are water quality (temperature, pH, DO, ammonia, alkalinity, and hardness), growth and survival rate of striped catfish. The result showed that (P2) was the best treatment for increasing swamp water pH from 3,6 to 7,57 and soil pH from 3,5 to 7,60, survival rate 86,7%, absolute growth length 4,35 and absolute growth weight 8,30 g and feed efficiency 73,53%.

Abstrak : Penelitian kepadatan spat kerang mutiara yang dipelihara di alam perlu terus dilakukan karena belum ada patokan tingkat kepadatan yang sesuai untuk usaha komersial. Oleh karena itu dilakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruh kepadatan terhadap pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup spat kerang mutiara (Pinctada maxima).  Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, yakni perlakuan A (60 ind/poket), B (75 ind/poket), C (90 ind/poket), D (105 ind/poket), dan perlakuan E (120 ind/poket). Ukuran spat yang digunakan rata-rata 1 cm pada poket (keranjang pemeliharaan) 45x60 cm2. Hasil penelitian selama 45 hari menunjukan bahwa pertumbuhan pada semua perlakuan tidak berbeda nyata, namun pertumbuhan terbaik dengan nilai 0,70 cm untuk pertumbuhan mutlak dan 0,69% untuk laju pertumbuhan harian dimiliki oleh kepadatan yang rendah yakni 60 ind/poket, disusul oleh perlakuan lainnya seperti perlakuan B,C,D, dan E. Hasil uji ANOVA, SR didapatkan hasil persentase yang berbeda nyata, yakni terdapat pada perlakuan A (60 ind/poket) dengan nilai SR 90,44% dan pada perlakuan E (120 ind/poket) dengan nilai SR 74,44%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa padat penebaran yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan spat kerang mutiara, namun berpengaruh nyata terhadap tingkat kelangsungan hidup (SR) spat kerang mutiara (Pinctada maxima) yang dipelihara selama 45 hari.Kata kunci : Pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup, spat, Pinctada maximaAbstract : The study of pearl shell spat density maintained in nature needs to be continued because there is no standard level of density suitable for commercial businesses. Therefore a study was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of density on growth and survival rate of pearl oyster spat (Pinctada maxima). The method used is Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications, namely treatment A (60 ind / pocket), B (75 ind / pocket), C (90 ind / pocket), D (105 ind / pocket) ), and treatment E (120 ind / pocket). The size of the spat used was 1 cm on the pocket (maintenance basket) 45x60 cm2. The results of the 45-day study showed that growth in all treatments was not significantly different, but the best growth was 0.70 cm for absolute growth and 0.69% for the daily growth rate owned by a low density of 60 ind / pocket, followed by treatment others such as treatment B, C, D, and E. The results of the SR ANOVA test showed that the percentage results were significantly different, which were found in treatment A (60 ind / pocket) with SR values of 90.44% and in treatment E (120 ind / pocket) with an SR of 74.44%. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the different stocking densities had no significant effect on the growth of pearl shell spat, but significantly affected the survival rate (SR) of pearl shell spat (Pinctada maxima) which was maintained for 45 days.Keywords: growth, survival rate, spat, Pinctada maxima.

The study aimed to determine the growth and survival of Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp with the application of probiotics to different stocking densities.  The study was conducted from May to June 2018 at the Balai Benih Ikan Pantai (BBIP) Ghonebalano, Duruka District, Muna Regency, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three levels of solid stocking treatment namely treatment A is 18 individu per container, treatment B is 24  individu per container and treatment C is 30  individu per container with three replications.  Data analysis using Variance Analysis (ANOVA) at the confidence level of 95% (α 0.05).  The results showed that the highest daily growth was obtained at 24 individual densities of 5.88% per day, compared to 18 individual densities of 5.86% per day and 30 individual densities of 5.74% per day.  The highest absolute growth is obtained at 24 individual density of 2.43 g per individu, then 18 individual density of 2.15 g per individual, and the lowest at 30 individual density of 2.02 g per individual.  Survival at a density of 18 individual and a density of 24 individual at 88.89%, while a 30-ind density of 86.67%.  Analysis of variance (α 0.05) showed that the application of probiotics to different stocking densities had no significant effect on the daily growth rate of vannamei shrimp (p<0.939), absolute growth of vannamei shrimp (p<0.080), and survival of vannamei shrimp (p<0.744).

The study aimed to determine how the growth and survival capabilities of vaname shrimp larvae (Litopenaeus vannamei) are affected by different feeding methods and thereby the most efficient method. The study was conducted at the PT. Citra Larva Cemerlang, South of Kalianda in Lampung Province. For the experiment Completely Randomized Design (CRD) was utilized with 3 feeding methods and each was replicated 3 times. The feeding methods tested were: fozen, liquid and powdered Artemia feed. The experiments were done with up to 5000 shrimps on Zoea 1 stadia per month, which were kept in rearing tanks for 17 days.The test parameters observed were absolute growth, specific growth rate, efficiency of feed utilization, survival rate and water quality. Based on the results of statistical analysis (Anova) feeding frozen Artemia gave the best results with absolute growth of 5,6 mg, daily growth rate of 0,33 mg/hari, efficiency of feed utilization of 0,27%, and survival rate of 72,9%. Water quality during maintenance temperatures obtained is 27,1-32oC, pH 7,73-8,26, dissolved oxygen 3,8-7,1 mg/l, salinity 30-34 ppt, ammonia 0,02-1,57 mg/l. Keywords: Litopenaeus vannamei, Artemia, growth, frozen, powder, liquid.

The purpuse of this research was to determine the effect of shell powder of Taiwanese mussel (Anodonta woodiana) at different doses on absolute growth, relative growth and survival rate of Taiwanese mussel. The treatment dosages of shell powder included A: 0 ppm,  B: 10  ppm, C: 20 ppm, D: 30 ppm, and E: 40 ppm. Experimental design used was Complete Randomized Design with five treatments, each with three replications.  The results showed that supplementation of 40 ppm of shell powder resulted in the best absolute growth and relative growth, namely 0.475 g and 1.84% respectively. Survival rate of Taiwanese mussel in all treatments during the experimental period was 100%.   Keywords:  Anodonta woodiana, Taiwanese mussel, shell powder, absolute growth, relative growth, survival rate
