This study revealed the perception of cultural arts teachers on the local Javanese wayang kulit purwa media to instilling students’ character values through learning art and culture at junior high school levels throughout the great Solo (Solo Raya) area. There is a previous assumption that wayang kulit purwa has only been performed at general public beyond formal school institutions such as junior high schools. Meanwhile, in instilling the values of character education, the teachers indicated through the subjects taught, the results showed that they were still found to be limited to formal media. This study reflects its own specific points, this is because the teaching aids used are the Purwa puppet media. This study was carried out by applying a survey to 69 cultural arts teachers who were selected purposively in all areas of Solo Raya covering 7 (seven) regencies / municipalities. The technique applied in collecting data is through questionnaires and interview techniques. To analyze the data, an interactive model is used which includes the initial steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that most cultural arts teachers had positive and negative perceptions of wayang kulit purwa if it was used as a medium of learning and planting character education for students at junior high school level. However, most of the cultural arts teachers who have had a graduate education have positive perceptions. Penelitian ini akan mengarahkan pada sasaran pendidikan karakter di sekolah. Sasaran pendidikan karakter adalah seluruh sekolah di Indonesia terutama pada tingkat SMP negeri maupun swasta, karena di masa SMP peserta didik belum terlalu melawan kepada guru, seperti anak SMA, dan anak SMP tidak terlalu kecil untuk mendapatkan materi pendidikan karakter, seperti anak SD. Semua warga sekolah, meliputi para peserta didik, guru, karyawan administrasi, dan pimpinan sekolah menjadi sasaran program ini. Sekolah-sekolah yang selama ini telah berhasil melaksanakan pendidikan karakter dengan baik dijadikan sebagai best practices, yang menjadi contoh untuk disebarluaskan ke sekolah-sekolah lainnya.This research will lead to the target of character education in schools. The target of character education is all schools in Indonesia, especially at the public and private junior high school level, because in junior high school students are not too resistant to teachers, such as high school students, and junior high school children are not too young to get character education materials, such as elementary school children. All school residents, including students, teachers, administrative staff, and school leaders are the targets of this program. Schools that have been successful in carrying out character education well are used as best practices, which serve as examples to be disseminated to other schools.

This study encourages the disclosure of cultural values contained in the book al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik which is used in learning maharah kalam at the middle school level. Teaching cultural-based maharah kalam is important in learning Arabic. Cultural values contained in textbooks must be adapted to the way they are taught to students. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method at Dar el-Iman Junior High School, Padang, Indonesia. Data collection was carried out using in-depth observations, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique was based on Miles and Huberman's theory which encompassed data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusion. The data obtained were validated with data triangulation techniques and data sources. This study showed that the cultural values adopted from the book al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik in Junior High School of Dar el-Iman are associated with what students have done every day, such as saying greetings when they first meet, not shaking hands between men and women, getting used to good pronunciation of sentences, and etc. It is necessary to test the effectiveness of the use of al-‘Arabiyyah Baina Yadaik textbook in improving students' maharah kalam, to become a reference for teachers in choosing the right maharah kalam textbook.

AbstrakPermasalahan mendasar yang dialami oleh guru-guru seni budaya di SMP Sungai Pua Kabupaten Agam khususnya SMPN 1 dan SMPN 2 adalah dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, sehingga berdampak pada pencapaian hasil belajar siswa. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran tersebut adalah dengan melaksanakan PTK. Pada umumnya guru SMP Sungai Pua belum melaksanakan PTK untuk memperbaiki pembelajarannya, karena mereka tidak mampu melaksanakan PTK khususnya pada pembelajaran Seni Budaya. Disamping itu guru-guru juga belum menguasai pembuatan RPP sesuai dengan tuntutan kurikulum 2013. Solusi yang ditawarkan untuk penyelesaian masalah ini adalah dengan melakukan suatu pelatihan dengan pendekatan rancang bangun, penyuluhan, pelatihan, pendampingan/ pembimbingan dari instruktur. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah adalah 1) 80%  peserta sudah dapat menguasai pembuatan RPP berdasarkan kurikulum 2013 dengan baik, begitu juga dari segi penguasaan materi PTK, 75% peserta sudah dapat menguasai pelaksanaan PTK dengan baik.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran seni budaya, kualitas pembelajaran, RPP dan PTK.AbstractThe fundamental problems experienced by cultural arts teachers in Junior High School Sungai Pua, Agam Regency, especially Junior High School number 1 and Junior High School number 2, are in improving the quality of learning, thus impacting on the achievement of student learning outcomes. One of the efforts to improve the quality of learning is by implementing Classroom Action Research (CAR). In general, Junior High Schools’ teachers have not implemented CAR yet to improve their learning, because they are not able to carry out CAR especially in the learning of Cultural Arts. Besides that the teachers also have not mastered in making of lesson plans based on the 2013 curriculum. The solutions offered to solve this problem are by conducting training with a design approach, counseling, training and mentoring from the instructor. The results of this activity are 1) 80% of participants have mastered in making of RPP based on the 2013 curriculum well, as well as in terms of mastering CAR materials, 75% of participants have mastered the implementation of CAR properly.Keywords: Art and cultural learning, quality of learning, lesson plans and PTK

This article deals with Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning technology innovation at the junior high school level. The focus of the problem studied is related to what is innovation, technology and how is PAI's learning technology innovation at junior high school level. The results showed that the form of PAI learning technology innovation at junior high school level included; educational innovation, technology, learning technology, development of learning technology, web-based learning (e-learning), as well as the internet as a source of learning with an approach to developing inquiry and discovery learning methods. The effectiveness of this learning technology innovation makes the subject matter more understood by students, because the material from teaching material is discovered and practiced by students themselves. While the response of students is very enthusiastic and positive. The weakness of this learning technology innovation is that there are obstacles in operating learning technology because not all students have a representative media in implementing technology-based learning (online).
