The concept of "management efficiency", that is, the economic efficiency of the implementation of certain organizational and technical measures, hasbeen studied. The effectiveness of management - the effectiveness of management activities, is defined as the ratio of the results obtained from theimplementation of certain management levers in the enterprise to the costs that accompany their receipt. It is proved that management activity is oneof the most important factors in the functioning and development of enterprises in a market economy. This activity is constantly being improved inaccordance with the objective requirements of the production and sale of goods, the complexity of economic ties, the increasing role of the consumerin the formation of technical, economic and other parameters of products. The classification of management efficiency is given and characterized bythe scope of application, in accordance with the objects of definition, purpose and methods of calculation. The criteria and the system of generalizedand particular indicators, with the help of which the effectiveness of management is evaluated, are considered. Conditions are proposed that must bemet for the effective management of the enterprise, the main components of the success of the enterprise are investigated. It has been proven thatefficiency and productivity are two concepts on which every strategy of any enterprise is based. After a comprehensive assessment of approaches tomeasuring performance, efficiency and quality of management, it was concluded that a profitable business is possible only with proper management. To ensure the continuous development of the company can only optimal performance, efficiency and high quality of enterprise management, whichallows to increase its competitiveness in the target market and maximize its profits.

Fatigue is a common and highly distressing symptom of cancer associated with reduced quality of life and considerable psychological and functional morbidity. The reported prevalence of cancer-related fatigue ranges from 4% to 91%, depending on the specific cancer population studied and the methods of assessment. Cancer-related fatigue has typically been underreported, underdiagnosed, and undertreated. Fatigue and depression may coexist in cancer patients, and considerable overlap of symptoms occurs. This is partly the reason for the interest in examining the role of psychotropic medications in treating fatigue. Clarifying the relationship between depression and fatigue is necessary to effectively evaluate and treat cancer-related fatigue. Even with International Classification of Diseases criteria, differentiating cancer-related fatigue is difficult. Psychotropic drugs that have been studied for cancer-related fatigue include psychostimulants, wakefulness-promoting agents, and anti-depressants. Methylphenidate has been studied most and seems to be effective and well tolerated despite common side effects. Some preliminary data support using modafinil in cancer-related fatigue with less concern about tolerance or dependence. Antidepressant studies have shown mixed results. Paroxetine seems to show benefit for fatigue primarily when it is a symptom of clinical depression. Bupropion, a norepinephrine/dopamine reuptake inhibitor, may have psychostimulant-like effects, and therefore may be more beneficial for treating fatigue. However, studies are currently limited. Randomized, placebo-controlled trials with specific agents are needed to further assess the efficacy and tolerability of psychotropic medications in the treatment of cancer-related fatigue.

Lipstick is a key product in the make-up sector. A woman applies lipstick to feel feminine and attractive. The sensation she perceives when she applies the product plays an important role in her attachment to her lipstick. The impact of the ingredients on the sensory properties and the quality of the lipsticks needs to be understood, so that the formulation can be more effective and the sensory properties can be precisely adjusted to the target market. During this study, multidimensional correlations were made between the percentage of ingredients, their physico-chemical specifications and the sensory properties of the raw materials on their own or the lipsticks. The objective of this study is to predict the sensory properties of lipsticks from the physico-chemical specifications of the ingredients. It is in effect quicker to access the physical data than the sensory descriptions. The lipsticks were made using a simplified formula, evaluated in a sensory analysis and their physico-chemical characteristics were measured. The relationships between the sensory properties, the ingredient specifications and their percentage of use in the formula were highlighted. The results confirm the major role of the viscosity of oils and the wax used in the formula on the sensory and mechanical properties of the lipstick. It is therefore possible to modify the sensory properties, for example to adjust the shininess of a lipstick, without altering its mechanical resistance. This opens up opportunities for developing innovative sensory textures in short lead times.

The effectiveness of medical care in most cases depends on the quality of informational exchange between the doctor and the patient. Often, selected models of the therapeutic interaction, which are the basis for the doctor-patient relationship and form a common psychological background of this communication are very important. The article presents a brief review of the main models of the therapeutic interaction in the foreign and domestic literature. Also we determined the most preferable of them. We showed the important role of doctor’s communicative competence, as well as the fact that possession of communicative skills allow them to solve medical-diagnostic and organizational problems more effectively while treating the patient. Also we studied the main components of effective interaction, promoting the formation of trust between the patient and the doctor.

The paper deals with phonetic means executing theme and rheme functioning in speech. The main components of prosodic arrangement of the theme and rheme structure of the utterance are studied, and a problem of structural units of intonation is investigated. Multi-functionality of intonation tends to complicate a study of speech prosody. At the stage of inventory and taxonomic analysis of the formal means of intonation the basic components of prosodic arrangement of the theme and rheme structure of the utterance are considered and a problem of the structural intonation units is studied. The analysis is based on a study of the material essence of the intonation units which differentiation is provided not only by the melodic component but also by speech intensity, speech tempo (including pauses), voice timbre as well as the integral prosodic characteristic — the phrase stress. It is possible to speak definitely about presence of essential differences in the degree of informational melody, speech intensity, tempo and timbre in the context of communication of meanings, and a complex nature of their accomplishment in speech. Therefore, it becomes important to study not just the role of each of these components in the accomplishment of the communicative function of intonation but also to establish their hierarchy, inter-relation and interdependence. Functional analysis of intonation is primarily aimed at specification of the very principle of classification of the intonation structure functional loading. It is advisable to study the relative autonomy of various functions and the nature of their interaction. The list of intonation functions may be limited with such a set: intelligent and logical function (segmentation by syntagms, links between syntagms, actual segmentation, accentual marking of the syntagm elements), differentiation function of the communication types (situations), the function expressing the emotional state and relations and the function that transfers modal relations. At the prosody level the actual segmentation of utterances is accomplished in speech primarily by using tonal and, partially, dynamic means of intonation (the emphasis is often linked to the forceful intonation components — intensity and energy component): at that, in order to identify the content, the place of stress is important as well as certain peculiarities of its accomplishment.

Introduction. In the current global crisis, the problem of the quality of banks’ loan portfolios is a topical issue. Among the methods of effective credit risk management is the assessment of the borrower’s creditworthiness. Improving the quality of analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the counterparty will reduce the occurrence of unforeseen risks in the process of conducting credit operations. Given the importance of the role of creditworthiness assessment for decision-making, there is a need to improve and choose a methodology that will ensure the most accurate classification of the bank’s clients. Purpose. The aim of the work is to choose the best method for predicting the probability of default of commercial bank customers based on the analysis of approaches and testing of the built models. Method (methodology). The paper considers methodological approaches to modeling the insolvency of bank customers and determining the probability of repayment of loans based on binning indicators. Also, the credit risk assessment models based on the use of logit and probit regressions, the algorithm of extreme gradient boosting and artificial neural networks are constructed. The comparative analysis of the efficiency of the application of the used approaches is carried out. Results. The obtained results demonstrated the high accuracy of the models and their ability to identify non-creditworthy customers. The findings of the study and evaluation of mathematical approaches can be implemented in the work of banking structures and other credit institutions to spread the amount of problem fees in their loan portfolios.

The article examines the structure of the inter-relationship between society and its inherent risks, the main components of which are society’s accumulated experience in predicting and mitigating risks, the continuous complication of modern society and the new social risks it generates. The reasons for the formation of these components, the positive and negative results of their use by society are analyzed. The reactions of managers and scientists to existing social risks are described. The main difference between these reactions is the diametrically opposite attitude of managers and scientists to the phenomenon of reductionism in solving complex social problems. The article defines the role of interdisciplinary research areas (synergetics, systemology, the combined social analysis, science of science, etc.) in solving problems related to social risks. The proposed by A. G. Teslinov’s classification of existing worlds (the material world, the world of ideas, the social world and the world of signs) correlates with traditional disciplinary classifications. The place of a new scientific direction (risk semiotics) in the system of existing risk sciences, as well as among other artificial semiotics is established. The conclusion about the need for interrelated development of social semiotics and risk semiotics is substantiated.

Express MS identification of biological tissues has become a much more accessible research method due to the application of direct specimen ionization at atmospheric pressure. In contrast to traditional methods of analysis employing GC-MS methods for determining the molecular composition of the analyzed objects it eliminates the influence of mutual ion suppression. Despite significant progress in the field of direct MS of biological tissues, the question of mass spectrometric profile attribution to a certain type of tissue still remains open. The use of modern machine learning methods and protocols (e.g., “random forests”) enables us to trace possible relationships between the components of the sample MS profile and the result of brain tumor tissue classification (astrocytoma or glioblastoma). It has been shown that the most pronounced differences in the mass spectrometric profiles of these tumors are due to their lipid composition. Detection of statistically significant differences in lipid profiles of astrocytoma and glioblastoma may be used to perform an express test during surgery and inform the neurosurgeon what type of malignant tissue he is working with. The ability to accurately determine the boundaries of the neoplastic growth significantly improves the quality of both surgical intervention and postoperative rehabilitation, as well as the duration and quality of life of patients.

The article is dedicated to the topical issue of determining the place of informal component of management in ensuring the efficiency of the transformation process of the enterprise management structures. Generalization of theoretical and practical experience in the transformation of management structures allows to confirm that informal aspects are prominent in the process of the enterprise management, however, it is not reflected in the transformation of management structures. In particular, the current classification of informal relationships in the management process does not fully reflect their penetration into the system and management process, which leads to a decrease in the quality of the management structure, in the efficiency of transformation processes, the resistance of the management system of the transformation performed, and, accordingly, it reduces the overall efficiency of the enterprise management. Methodology. In the course of the research, the authors have used a wide range of general scientific methods, such as abstraction, deduction, induction, analysis and synthesis, modeling and systemic approach, to describe the informal component of management, to carry out its classification, as well as to identify models of the mechanism of transformation of management structures and transformation process. According to the results of the conducted research, it is proposed to supplement the existing classification of the informal component of management by taking into account such features as: effect, stability (duration of existence) and scale of distribution; it is also proposed to expand the content for the attributes of character and manifestations of interaction of formal and informal components. It is proved that informal relationships and connections should be taken into account at every stage of the process of transformation of the management structure. In particular, it is stated that the quality of the management structure, as one of the stages of the transfor-mation process, and the factors of influence on the enterprise in the aspect of functioning and transformation of its management structure, as a limitation of the transformation process, should be investigated, taking into account the classification features of the informal component. In this regard, it is proposed to supplement the existing aspects of the quality of management structures with an informal aspect and to determine the efficiency of the processes of transformation of management structures by the criteria of system resistance to change, resource mobilization, and independence of the management structure transformation group and the efficiency of transformation activities. It is determined that the system of interconnected elements, including methods, levers and instruments of influence, which in the process of interaction provide the realization of the task of transformation of the management structure, that is, determine the mechanism of transformation of management structures, occupies a prominent place in ensuring the efficiency of the transformation of management structures, as well as obtaining the desired result (effect) for the enterprise. The practical implication of the obtained results of the research is to ensure the increase of the level of quality of the management structure and the efficiency of transformation processes by taking into account the factor of informal relationships as an in-tegral attribute of the structure of the enterprise management. The use of certain components of the mechanism and stages of the process of transformation process of management structures will reduce the resistance of the enterprise personnel to change and will achieve the desired result (effect) for the enterprise.
