This research aims to enhance students' thinking skills (TS) through a project-based learning (PBL) intervention in two cycles of classroom action research (CAR) on the topic of the Ecosystem. TS was determined by the quantity and quality of the students' questions (SQ) and statements (SS), which were determined based on Bloom's taxonomy. The research target was students in grade X (N=31) of one social science class at a public high school in Surakarta. Their TS were rated as low during the Pre-cycle. Based on their verbal activities, the students were categorized into five active (A) and non-active (NA) groups (A-1, A-2, NA-1, NA-2, and NA-3). The NA students were more engaged after the two cycles of CAR. Although the A-1 and A-2 students posed more SQ and SS than the NA students, some of the NA-1, NA-2, and NA-3 students performed positively. In the Pre-cycle, only the C1 and C2 cognitive levels were detected, mostly as factual and conceptual. During the CAR, however, C4, C5, and C6 were found as procedural. In Cycle II, we can find a few examples of metacognition. Overall, this research has shown that PBL can be used to increase student learning engagement. They become active communicators. There was evidence that the quality of students' questions and statements improved to the level of C6 and metacognition. Hopefully, further research can be conducted on the impact of grouping strategies during PBL activities by purposively combining high-achieving students or actively questioning and giving their peers statements in the opposite situation.

The article examines the objectively existing in modern conditions of economic agents' activity the need to introduce and apply approaches based on the use of quality management methods in internal corporate management. The authors noted that one of the global trends of the XXI century. Is the structural transformation of the world economy associated with the active development and implementation of information and telecommunication (digital) technologies in the real economic processes of both society and business. The authors assess the approach widespread in Russia based on quality management methods in the formation of control systems for the activities of economic agents of the national economy in the context of digital transformation in order to ensure their sustainable development; the analysis of the formation of promising directions for the development of communities, declared by UNESCO, in conditions of instability, complexity and uncertainty was carried out; the toolkit for digitalization of quality management of the education system is considered, in particular, the use of project-based learning to improve the quality of knowledge obtained and assess the impact on the sustainable development of universities, the education sector in general and economic agents of the national economy, taking into account digitalization and global risks. The authors see further areas of research in modeling risks and assessing their impact on ensuring sustainable development of economic agents, socio-economic processes of the national economy and society as a whole by quality management methods in the context of digitalization of the economy.

The role of education is to improve the quality of education, especially in producing high-quality students. High-quality students are those who are able to think critically, creatively, logically and take initiatives in responding to issues in society caused by the impact of the development of science and technology. This study aims to determine the effect of a scientific approach to students' critical thinking skills. This study is an experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The sample of this study consisted of one class (28 students), which was treated using a scientific approach. Critical thinking skills are measured using a test instrument and then analyzed statistically (t test). Hypothesis test results indicate that there is an effect of using a scientific approach toward students' critical thinking skills.

Project-based Learning using video is being used at the University of Yogyakarta in order to examine the impact on students' thinking skills. The Paired Sample t-test analytic method was employed in this study to conduct a quasi-experiment, which is described in detail below. The findings revealed that: 1) the average increase from the pretest score to the posttest score was 4.55 in the experimental class and 3.41 in the control class, and 2) a statistically significant difference in the average increase was observed in the experimental class when the Project-based learning model was used in the classroom. The experimental class uses Project-based Learning, 3) the data in the experimental class is 0.097 (pretest) and 0.062 (posttest). In contrast, the data in the control class is 0.083 (pretest) and 0.064 (posttest), 4) the results of the hypothesis test revealed a significance level of 0. 007 in the experimental class and 0.016 in the control class, both of which were less than the significance level of 0.005, so that H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. According to the findings of this study, there appears to be an effect of applying the Project-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills in social studies classes. PjBL (project-based learning) models that include video can help students substantially enhance their critical thinking skills.

ABSTRACT ObjectivesThe grouping of record-pairs to determine which administrative records belong to the same individual is an important process in record linkage. A variety of grouping methods are used but the relative benefits of each are unknown. We evaluate a number of grouping methods against the traditional merge based clustering approach using large scale administrative data. ApproachThe research aimed to both describe current grouping techniques used for record linkage, and to evaluate the most appropriate grouping method for specific circumstances. A range of grouping strategies were applied to three datasets with known truth sets. Conditions were simulated to appropriately investigate one-to-one, many-to-one and ongoing linkage scenarios. ResultsResults suggest alternate grouping methods will yield large benefits in linkage quality, especially when the quality of the underlying repository is high. Stepwise grouping methods were clearly superior for one-to-one linkage. There appeared little difference in linkage quality between many-to-one grouping approaches. The most appropriate techniques for ongoing linkage depended on the quality of the population spine and the underlying dataset. ConclusionsThese results demonstrate the large effect that the choice of grouping strategy can have on overall linkage quality. Ongoing linkages to high quality population spines provide large improvements in linkage quality compared to merge based linkages. Procuring or developing such a population spine will provide high linkage quality at far lower cost than current methods for improving linkage quality. By improving linkage quality at low cost, this resource can be further utilised by health researchers.

One of the objectives of national education is to improve the quality of human resources (HR). Increasing the quality of human resources can be through critical thinking skills in learning achievement and activeness of students. The purpose of this paper is to motivate students to be more active in the learning process and are expected to improve student learning achievement. In Indonesia, education still has constraints related to the quality of education, so the learning process is not optimal and the motivation carried out by teachers and students is still lacking. The learning process in Indonesia is still fairly weak, a lot of the quality of the teacher itself is considered lacking because it still uses conventional methods. Students become passive and do not have the opportunity to express their ideas or ideas. Therefore, the problem needs to be overcome by making changes. One model that can be used as a learning model is Project Based Learning (PjBL). In this learning model the teacher acts as a facilitator. Project Based Learning aims to find problem solving, besides that also so that students learn the concept of how to solve problems and develop critical thinking skills. In learning concepts and critical thinking skills, students work together in their groups to study real problems. However, the Project Based Learning method has weaknesses in terms of time and cost, so it must be modified with Task and Forced Learning Strategies. The application of Task and Forced Learning Strategies aims to improve the quality of learning of students with a high sense of responsibility and discipline on assignments and on time. Task and Forced Learning Strategies also do not require a lot of time and money so that they can complement the Project Based learning (PjBl) method. Learning by applying this learning model is expected to make students become more disciplined, active and able to develop their creativity. This article succeeded in formulating the Project Based Learning learning model modified with Task and Forced Learning Strategies.

Dementia is a general term for a series of medical conditions that affect the brain and evolve progressively. According to the literature, there are over 200 subtypes and causes of dementia, with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) being the most common in elderly people. AD is an irreversible progressive neurodegenerative condition that leads to a decline in mental function, enough to disrupt daily life. Thinking skills slowly deteriorate, which, in advanced stages, makes it impossible to perform simple tasks. Besides the change in the quality of life of AD patients and their families, there is a considerable alteration in the quality of life of their caregivers, whose health can be negatively affected by the development of mental and somatic disorders. This article reviews the literature in order to reveal the benefits of applying non-pharmacological interventions such as music and art therapy to improve quality of life. This article also aims to shed light on the impact of this disease on the caregiver’s life. Music and art therapy have produced reliable results in the treatment of patients with AD, and the best effects are related to increased socialization and the maintenance of social status.

The COVID-19 pandemic led to the implementation of the Work From Home<strong> </strong>(WFH) policy. The impact of this policy is to replace the process of teaching and learning activities by using an online learning system. In this industrial era 4.0, the integration of web applications is very much needed in problem-solving learning. One that can be used to integrate web applications in learning through project-based learning. The focus of this research is to study the effects of online project-based learning applications on mathematics students' visual thinking continuum. Instruments used in the form of rubric virtual mind maps, audio-visual and virtual posters are used to observe students' visual thinking continuum. The instrument was analyzed with the Rasch measurement model software named WINSTEPS. This study used one group pretest-posttest design to see the effect of integrating web applications in learning through project-based learning analyzed using SPSS. The results of instrument analysis for rubric virtual mind maps, audio-visual products, and virtual posters on measure person obtained good person reliability, MNSQ infit, and MNSQ OUTFIT the average rating is very good. For the ZSTD infit and the ZSTD outfit, the average value is close to 0.0 so that the quality of the person's reliability is good. The results of the conformity quality of the items with the model studied from the fit order items obtained the value of Outfit mean square (MNSQ), Outfit Z-standard (ZSTD), and the value of Point Measure Correlation (Pt Mean Corr) for the three instruments met good criteria. The results of the analysis of paired samples test from 54 respondents obtained p &lt;0.05 so that the base learning project has the effect of increasing students' visual thinking continuum. Implementation of online project-based learning in mathematics learning is an alternative that can be used to improve students' creative problem-solving skills in online learning
