scholarly journals Design of experiments for light-speed invariance to moving observers

Abstract The principle of the constancy of the velocity of light, which stated that the light velocity is invariant to the motion of the emitter, was well established and directly proven by many experiments. Interestingly, the further assumption that the light velocity is also independent of the motion of the observer was, arguably, never conclusively proven by any experiment for a century. This paper tried to address some perceived technical difficulties in such experiments and proposed two experiments to test this assumption. One is to directly measure the light speed as to moving sensors, with the setup designed in such a way that the concerns of time synchronization and dilation can be avoided. Another experiment is to test the isotropy of the light speed to a high-speed particle by measuring the momentum to acceleration ratio. The experiment results, if positive, will provide direct proof of the assumption. Otherwise, it may imply a need for further investigation. Since the light speed invariance to moving observers is a key assumption of some fundamental physical theory, either way, the experiments will have significant importance.

Either way, the experiments will have significant meanings in physical theory.

A set of measurement system for the testing of transmission lines, composing of wireless center station, wireless current acquisition and transmission nodes, wireless voltage acquisition and transmission node, was designed, which was based on wireless communication. The high speed wireless bridge working at 2.4GHz together with the clock synchronization module based on the IEEE1588 communicating protocol were both employed for the communication and time synchronization separately. The measurement system has data storage, waveform display, data analysis, automatic report generation and other functions. The measurement system can greatly reduced arrangement of cables, thereafter improved the test efficiency.

Predictive models are presented for the surface roughness in high-speed end milling of 0.45%C steel and P20 die-mould steel based on statistical test and multiple-regression analysis. The data for establishing model is derived from experiments conducted on a high-speed machining centre by factorial design of experiments. The significances of the regression equation and regression coefficients are tested in this paper. The effects of milling parameters on surface roughness are investigated by analyzing the experimental curves.

we pointed out the idea of Einstein, light speed is independent of the observer i.e. The principle of light speed invariance is incorrect. Instead of Lorentz Transformation we suggested a new time-space transformation, this revision of the Relativity will deeply effect the development of Science and Technology.

Structural realists have made use of category theory in three ways. The first is as a meta-level formal framework for a structural realist account of the structure of scientific theories, either syntactic or semantic. The second is an appeal to the category-theoretic structure of some successful, successive or fundamental, physical theory to argue that this is the structure we should be physically committed to, either epistemically or ontically. The third is to use category theory as a conceptual tool to argue that it makes conceptual sense to talk of relations without relata and structures without objects. After a brief overview of structural realism, I consider how each appeal to the use of category theory stands up against the aims of the structural realist.

The forms and the V-I characteristics of vacuum arc have great influence in the vacuum circuit breakers’ protection and control of power system. An experimental set-up was thus designed for vacuum switching arc measurement of V-I characteristics was used and an image collection system was designed to collect the images of vacuum arc used high-speed camera CMOS with the experimental setup, the V-I characteristics and forms of vacuum arc was researched, the curve of V-I was drawn and the images was analyzed. All these provide experimental basis for the analysis on basic physical theory of vacuum switching arc.
