Background: Bullying has become a severe problem in the educational context. Along with many other countries, Indonesia is also concerned about bullying problems. PELITA (Bullying-Free Psychoeducation for Indonesia) is a pilot program that is expected to become a foundation for a program in bullying prevention, targeted especially to prevent bullying by teachers in Kudus. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the changes in empathy scores, emotional regulation, and efficacy of teaching before and after undergoing the program. Methods: The researcher then conducted qualitative analysis to determine the narrative results related to subjects’ understanding of bullying and empathy, subjects’ ability to regulate emotions, and the teachers’ efficacy in teaching. This study used a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test post-test design with a convergent mixed methods approach. Using a mixed methods approach, we were able to compare and integrate findings from the quantitative and qualitative data. Participants were elementary school teachers selected to represent various areas in the Kudus district. Data collection was conducted using a scale, interviews, and focus group discussions. Results: The results showed that, from the three variables, empathy and emotion regulation did not see a significant increase. However, the variable of teacher efficacy showed a significant improvement. Conclusion: The qualitative and quantitative data obtained in this study evidently complements each other. Several improvements in this programs that needs attention, are knowledge transfer about learning disability, mastery of techniques related to rewards and punishment, as well as shaping techniques and other behavioral modification techniques. The analysis, conclusion, and implication will be discussed further in this article.

Long-term endurance exercise could increase activity of parasympathetic nervous and decrease activity of sympathetic nervous at rest. However, previous studies all focused on the effect of endurance training on heart rate variability (HRV) for athletes or sedentary subjects. In Taiwan, elementary school teachers teaching and processing the children’s and administrative problems always stand and walk. They will sit down only when they review and correct the students’ home work. Thus, the goal of this study was to elucidate the beneficial effect of moderate intensity exercise on relieving mental load of elementary school teachers. There were 20 participants in the exercise group and another 20 participants in the nonexercise group. The exercising teachers performed 12 weeks of moderate intensity exercise training for an average of 30 minutes per day, 3 times per week. HRV was measured before and after the 4th, 6th, and 12th weeks. The time and frequency domain parameters of HRV all had significant increases between the beginning and after 12 weeks of training. However, the time and frequency domain parameters of HRV in the nonexercise group had significant decreases between the beginning and after 12 weeks of training. The long-term moderate exercises can relieve mental load of elementary school teachers. Moreover, age was the considerable factor affecting HRV in this study.

Training is needed to ensure that teachers acquire the knowledge necessary to teach problem-solving skills. Furthermore, a specifically designed training material such as a module is especially needed when teachers work in remote areas with fewer resources. Meanwhile, six educational problem-solving skills development needs among teachers in rural Indonesian elementary schools were identified: teacher mentoring, self-actualization, competency, creativity, problem-solving, and independence. A training module was designed based on the needs which were assessed using the CIPS model. The study aimed to investigate the effects of the CIPS-based Training Module on the professionalism of elementary school teachers. In addition, the training module consists of five (5) stages, which include pre-entering, plan, setting, action, and evaluation. The quasi-experimental research was conducted on 63 elementary teachers from Nunukan and Sebatik Island, North Kalimantan, Indonesia, assigned randomly to either an experiment or a control group. Before the training, a pre-test was conducted, followed by training using the module for the experiment groups, and no training for the control group. Furthermore, a post-test was conducted in both groups to identify the effectiveness of the training module. The independent sample t-test showed that the experimental group obtained a higher mean score than the control group. In conclusion, the CIPS-based Training Module effectively develops professionalism in teaching problem-solving skills among the experimental group's elementary teachers. Meanwhile, the study implies that rural elementary teachers need to be prepared to teach problem-solving skills.

Manipulatives are a tool when that well-implemented can contribute to the development of mathematical concepts and processes, and is a popular strategy in elementary school. However, educators usually don’t use this technique efficiently for several reasons. For example, they had never used manipulatives before starting to work at school. In this quasi-experimental research, the understanding of preservice elementary school teachers of the concept of the fraction, specifically, the meaning of measure, was studied. Statistically significant evidence was gathered to conclude that the understanding of the meaning of measure improves after the implementation of the lesson with tangible manipulatives.

Examination conducted by the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) at grade VIII is high-stakes as intended and unintended consequences are associated with result of the examination and influence teaching learning process in school. A mixed methods sequential explanatory study was conducted to investigate effects of the examination conducted by the PEC on instructional practices of teachers at elementary level in seven districts of the Punjab. In quantitative phase survey data was collected from 521 elementary school teachers teaching in seven districts of the Punjab selected through multistage random sampling. The quantitative results were used to select participants for qualitative phase of the study through maximum variation strategy of purposive sampling. Quantitative phase identified female teachers perceived more effects of examination on their instructional practices. Moreover, teachers belonged to age group 42-48 experienced most of the effects of examination on their instructional practices as compared to teachers belonged to other age groups. Similarly teachers belonged to district 3 (Okara) experienced more effects of examination on their instructional practices as compared to teachers serving in other districts. The qualitative data indicated that instruction was driven by the examination. Teacher centred instructional strategies were dominant. Paper pattern defined the instruction and tests were extensively practiced in classes. Teachers used strategies for helping students to attempt MCQs. One of the objectives of this examination reform was to improve teaching and learning and in the light of this study it remains rhetoric. The findings of the study have posed several challenges for examination board, curriculum and educational authorities in the Punjab
