The waste management that has been running in Jakarta today, where the majority still use the collect-transport-dump system, has been changed to a waste management approach that integrates the roles of the community, government and the private sector. This study aims to find a suitable waste management model for the DKI Jakarta Province. The research method used was descriptive analysis and a research and development approach. The informants are respondents consist of government officials related to waste management (Environmental Service), community leaders and local waste management activists. The results of the study show that The community based waste management model has so far proved to work when there is full Local Authority support and success is possible when the members of Local Organizations offering the service are form within the same community. The model has not only addressed the environmental problems resulting from poor waste management but has to a great extent contributed to the establishment of local good environment condition standards. Although the government programs in its infancy the results achieved so far indicate great potential for the improvement of the living environment through processes that are managed by communities.

Garbage is a problem that must be faced by the community, because garbage is a form of environmental pollution, where garbage can have an impact on public health, such as; odors, floods, destroy aesthetics, fire, greenhouse effect and so on. Household waste management requires active community participation so that the role of the government does not get heavier. Increase community participation in waste management in Denpasar City. In an effort to build the effectiveness of waste management in Denpasar City, it is necessary to develop a community-based waste management model in Denpasar City. The purpose of developing a waste management model is to actively involve the community in managing waste in Denpasar City. This study uses the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) method approach by using elements of the affected community, elements of program objectives, elements of indicators to achieve goals, elements of the main constraints and elements of the institutions involved. In compiling the sub-elements from each element, it involves figures, experts, actors and activists in Denpasar City on community-based waste management. The results of the modeling show that the participatory role of the community is very important in reducing waste through reuse, increasing community involvement and implementing 3R activities. The main obstacle in waste management is the limited facilities and infrastructure for waste management and the unclear waste management organization. Possible changes are that law enforcement and waste regulations must be clear and the involvement of all stakeholders in community-based waste management in Denpasar City. Keywords: model; management; waste; society.

Based on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and customer satisfaction theory, we constructed a satisfaction model for supply–demand satisfaction for community-based senior care (SSCSC) combined with the psychological perspective of the elderly, and four dimensions of basic living needs (BLNs), living environment (LE), personal traits (PTs), and livability for the aged (LA) were selected to construct the model. The data were obtained from 296 questionnaires from seniors over 50 years old (or completed by relatives on their behalf, according to their actual situation). Twenty-two observed variables were selected for the five latent variables, and their interactions were explored using structural equation modeling. The results showed that LA was the most significant factor influencing SSCSC, and it was followed by BLNs and LE. PTs did not show a direct effect on LA, but they could have an indirect effect on SSCSC through influencing BLNs and LE. Based on the current state of community aging satisfaction, we propose to establish a community elderly care service system based on the basic needs of the elderly population, providing differentiated and refined elderly care services and improving the level of aging-friendly communities. This study provides references for the government to formulate relevant policies and other supply entities to make strategic decisions and has important implications for further enhancing community elderly services to become an important part of the social security system for the elderly.

Generally, activities conducted by people generate waste. The waste which increasingly rises causing a big problem. Therefore, the role of community in waste management will strongly support the process of solving the waste problem in the community. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of engagement and active participation of citizens, as reflected in the attitude of citizens in the activities related to the response to the waste problem in the community. A descriptive method was used in this study to describe the involvement and participation in the prevention of waste. The result showed that the paradigm of PSBM (community-based waste management) appeared sporadically and has not yet received the maximum support from regional governments. A paradigm which is “people pay, the government manages“, has grown within the community for years. It would hardly change people’s behaviour patterns in solving the waste problem in the community since changing the city into a city that is clean, comfortable and healthy involved many parties, including the community.

Tittle: Co-management of Marine Resource : Lesson Learnt from the Management Model of Co-Fish in Lombok Timur District, Nusa Tenggara Barat Province.Theoritically, the practice of marine resource management was created as a criticied of centralistic management wich being, that was practiced in Indonesia for a long time , and community-based management. Both of these practices of marine resource management have weaknesses, caused by the inexistance of cooperation between government and society (user group). actice of co-management is an alternative option to push a cooperation among all of related stakeholder in marine resourcemanagement. The research to study the implementation of Co-Fish in Lombok Timur District, Province of Nusa Tenggara Barat. Marine resources management was carried out by co-management approach involving related srakeholders. The mechanism and impact of the implementation of Co-fish to the society, and how the strengths and weaknesses of Co-fish based on principal of co-management approach were analsed with qualitative approach.

Generation of solid waste (SW) is a major problem in urban areas, thus its management is one of the important obligatory functions to not only urban local authority but also for the inhabitants. The citizens expressed their concerns about the waste management system in KCC and associated problems that they are encountering. Waste generation in Khulna City Corporation is around 455 tons of municipal solid waste/day and generation rate is now 0.75 Kg/capita/day on an average. Existing public utility services and facilities are not adequate to meet the demand of disposing these massive amounts of wastes and that’s why several problems are arising. There are some deterrents in the KCC’s solid waste Management system, arising from both the city corporation authority and the citizen of different levels. With a view to address the problem from through community participation, this paper intends to evaluate the potential of community based solid waste management approach in context of Khulna city.

Loss of wildlife, encroachment on wild lands and conflicts between protected areas and neighbouring communities continue to threaten the integrity of protected areas (PAs) in Uganda. To increase support from local communities and ensure long-term sustainability for Uganda's PAs, a policy of community-based conservation was introduced in 1988 as a management approach in seven PAs. The effectiveness of the community-based approach for reducing threats was compared to conventional PA management by conducting a threat reduction assessment at 16 PAs, seven with community-based approaches and nine without. Additional data collected using document reviews, interviews with government officials, and surveys of PA wardens were compared with the threat reduction assessments. Twenty-three primary threats were identified at PAs. Local game poaching was the most common threat. The threat reduction assessment indices of community-based PAs (mean=49.0±12) were not significantly different from those of conventional PAs (mean=37.96±21.6). Some specific threats, such as bush burning, logging, encroachment and unclear boundaries, seemed to be better mitigated at community-based PAs. Management approaches at all PAs mitigated fewer than half of the identified threats. Management approaches are needed that directly target PA threats, go beyond PA boundaries by involving additional government departments, link people's livelihoods to conservation efforts and strengthen PA institutions.

The challenge that Indonesia faces in processing natural and non-biological natural resources is the problem of waste management. High population figures, as well as increased incomes, affect consumption patterns that lead to increased waste generation in Indonesia. It is projected that in 2030 - 2050 waste production will increase, the problem of waste management in Indonesia can be seen from the following indicators, namely the high amount of waste generated, the level of waste management services is still low, limited number of final landfills, waste management institutions and cost problem. To overcome this problem, the issuance of wakalah sukuk as a source of funding for the waste industry center is a solution that can be done by the government. This research uses descriptive analysis research methodology with literature study data collection techniques. In the discussion explained about the concept of sustainable economy and wakalah state sukuk scheme in providing technology procurement financing to the waste processing industry. This research concluded that the wakalah state sukuk could be an alternative financing for technology procurement for the waste industry in increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the company so that it is more environmentally sound and appropriate with SDG's.

The purpose of this study is an action to study and analyze the problems of waste management in residential areas and residential waste management and community-based waste management. In this study, we use a study based on literature study which is a legal norm, where the secondary materials obtained through library research are only library materials and legal secondary materials. The essence of this discussion is the implementation of integrated waste management in Manado City based on the provisions regarding waste. It is clearly stated that waste management is not only the responsibility of the government. As a waste producer, the community has to maintain cleanliness and environmental health. In this case, an administrative disposition must be applied to continue any problems found. As mentioned in this field, compliance is low and can provide a deterrent effect for those who are not aware of the importance of waste management.

The increasing and spreading of population in Bukittinggi emerges several environmental problem, such as; the population density above 500 people per hectare, air pollution, traffic congestion, limited sources of clean water, limited green space for the people, poor sanitation, and drainage, and the poor of city planning and construction. One of the crucial issues of environmental management is the low participation and awareness of the community on the waste management even they are the strong adheres of religion beliefs and culture. How the public narration and opinion on the awareness of preserving the environment so that it affects the participation of the Muslim communities on the environmental management is a phenomenon that will be answered in this study. This qualitative study has found that the narration of Muslim community awareness does not affect their participation on the environmental management, especially community-based waste in Bukittinggi City, which in general has not been going properly. There are other factors outside of the religious awareness and cultural factors in the lack of community participation, such as, the implementation of regulations and environmental policies and the absence of certain planning in the management of community-based solid waste management because of several obstacles including the lack of community awareness, the absence of waste management and limited funding processing.

Community involvement in the management of mangrove ecotourism can be done in the form of community-based institutions are built. Institutions may be in an organization or container (players of the game) and rules (rules of the game), which regulates the survival of the organization as well as the cooperation between members to achieve a common goal. This study is required to make a model or pattern of mangrove community-based ecotourism management. The study was conducted in the mangrove eco-tourism in Bali Beach, District Talawi Coal County. The data collected is the socio-economic and institutional surrounding communities as well as the characteristics of the visitors. Data was analyzed using descriptive analysis terrhadap socio-economic conditions of society. Institutional analysis refers to the institutional concept of Taryono (2009) and Ruddle (1998). The results obtained are characteristic of the age of the people who are making use of the highest Bali Beach at the age of 20-29 years is 54%. Community involvement in ecotourism activities mangrove, gained 80%. Based on interviews conducted in the field result age characteristics of the visitors most in the range of 20-29 years old with a high school education background belakangg by 65%. When this happens the dualism between the surrounding community mangrove management with PT. Torch. Improvements in management organizational structure minawana be the first step in improving the management. Therefore, the government would need to give the authority to the Forest Farmers Group as an official organization governing the management field. The next step is to improve management of minawana is an improvement in the management rules. This rule is related to what can and can not do against minawana management. In addition, of course, sanctions or rewards what is gained if it violates the rules set.
