Stress on students is more common and varied. Therefore, a good coping strategy is needed in order to control stress and increase academic achievement. The purposes of this study are: 1) to describe the level of academic stress and coping strategy; 2) to investigate the effect of the differences of gender, age, marital status, years of study and degrees on academic stress and coping; and 3) to analyze the relationship between academic stress, coping and academic achievement. This research used a quantitative method with a survey approach. The population was 340 Indonesian students in Wuhan, China. The samples of 184 students (73 male and 111 female) were taken with a simple random sampling technique. The instruments used in collecting data are the Scale for Assessment Academic Stress and the Stress Coping Style Inventory. The results showed that academic stress was at a moderate level dominated by cognitive stress indicators. Coping was at a moderate level dominated by active emotional coping. Different demographic factors have a significant effect on academic stress and coping. Intercorrelation shows the relationship between several indicators of academic stress and coping but no significant relationship with academic achievement.

The aim of this research is; 1) investigating the level of online learning satisfaction among students during COVID 19; 2) analyzing the influence of differences in gender, years of study, major in determining online learning satisfaction among students during COVID 19; 3) to analyze the relationship between online learning satisfaction and student academic achievement during COVID 19. The population was 656 students at STKIP Singkawang, and then a sample of 357 students (87 males and 270 females) was taken using a simple random sampling technique. The instrument in this study was adapted from Aman's Satisfaction instrument, which was then used to collect research data. Data analysis using SPSS with descriptive statistical techniques, MANOVA, and correlation. The results showed that online learning satisfaction was at a high level, meaning that students were satisfied with the online learning that had been implemented. The major differences have a significant effect on determining online learning satisfaction. Intercorrelation shows that there is a significant relationship on each indicator of online learning satisfaction with academic achievement, meaning that the higher the satisfaction felt by students in online learning, the student's academic achievement will increase.

PurposeThis study examined the causes of academic stress amongst undergraduate students in the Department of Quantity Surveying to ascertain whether stress has an influence on their academic performance.Design/methodology/approachThis research explores the relationships between these constructs: academic stress, non-academic stress, coping strategies and academic performance, using a survey questionnaire to collect data from 190 undergraduate students in the Quantity Survey department. Descriptive statistics have been used to analyse the data and a path analytical approach has been adopted to evaluate the relationship between the constructs discussed in the paper.FindingsSignificant linear associations have been established between all the proposed paths and the outcome factor (p < 0.00). Coping strategies were an important mediator (p = 0.000), as they explained 32.9% of the association between academic stress and non-academic stress. However, the findings have shown that the stress faced by students is an optimal degree of stress that improves learning capabilities.Practical implicationsExplanation and clarification of the effects of academic and non-academic stress and coping mechanisms on the academic performance of university undergraduate students could help to reduce the risk of suicide amongst the teeming youths. It will also afford the university administration the opportunity to engender stress-free environment that is conducive for learning through the formulation of appropriate policies that promote “balanced learning” for the students. The outcome of this study may provide a launch pad for researchers who are interested in knowing how the possible causes of stress may impact on the health of university students.Originality/valueThe findings will be of great importance to the academic advisers and university administration in developing a flexible academic calendar and adopt policies that will eliminate academic stress and promote strategies to cope with non-academic stress. The study is the first attempt to examine academic stress, non-academic stress, coping strategies and academic performance in a single research in the Nigerian context due to limited literature found. This study has pedagogical implications to education practice by offering tertiary institutions the opportunity to appraise and device a means of managing students' stress by identifying their needs and increase students' coping skills based on prevailing modalities that give students' opportunities to strengthen the strategies of coping.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of children in some selected full cycle government primary schools of Bahirdar city. To achieve this objective, 180 sample students were selected by using simple random sampling technique. The collected data was analyzed through, spearman correlation, analysis of variance and independent-test. The finding of the study revealed that the statistical analysis on independent t-test showed that there was a statistically significant difference between male and female students with regard to their academic achievement (t=6.25, df = 178, p<0.05). The finding of spearman correlation indicates that there was significant relationship between parental involvement and academic achievement of students (r=.56, p <.05). The result on one way ANOVA displayed that there was statistical significant difference among respondents academic achievement with regard to their parental level of education (F 2, 176) = 17.084, P<0.05. In conclusion, parental involvement is positively correlated with academic achievement of students and males have better academic performance than their female counter parts.

Stress is a part of everyday life and no one is spared from it. People experience stress in different ways and for different reasons. From the newborn to the person who breaths his/her last, suffers from different types of stress. Wives of alcoholics go through countless problems in their personal and family life. They are at high risk for low quality of life due to use of maladaptive coping strategies. This study will help to evaluate the level of stress that faced by them and use of coping skills. Thus this will be a guide for planning and teaching effective coping methods to the targeted population. Aim: To assess the stress and coping among the wives of alcoholics. Methods: A quantitative research approach was used for the present study. The sample consisted of 50 wives of alcoholics, selected using purposive sampling technique. The tools used for the study were modified perceived stress scale and coping with drinking questionnaire. Results: The outcome of the study revealed that 98% of the wives of alcoholics had moderate level of stress and 2% of the wives of alcoholics had mild level of stress. It was also found that 96% of them had moderate level of coping and 4% had high level of coping.

Students’ academic achievement greatly influenced by their parents’ socioeconomic status and involvement in their academic life. Regardless of the parents’ educational qualifications, their support helps the children gain confidence in education and then in life. This study intends to see the relationship between two independent variables: parental awareness and emotional support to children and one dependent variable: academic achievement. The study area is Jafarabad, a district in Balochistan, Pakistan. The sample size was 250, designated using the Taro Yamani formula, and a simple random sampling technique was used to choose the respondents. The questionnaire was then used to collect information. The collected data was then coded and analyzed in SPSS. Pearson correlation test was used to test the hypotheses. Significant findings show that the lack of parental awareness and interest in student’s school activities is the primary cause of their poor academic achievement at secondary school. Accordingly, the study concludes that it is the primary responsibility of parents to support their children and cooperate with school administration emotionally. Therefore, the government, specifically the district education office, and local NGOs need to run awareness campaigns on the importance of parental involvement in the children’s education, which will result in the children’s excellent academic achievement.

Farmers have high risk to suffer psychological health pressure. The factors that cause farmers have psychological pressure are limited land, the decrease of soil fertility, soil degradation, and natural causes. Farmers with high psychological health pressure can suffer stress. This research aims to investigate the representation of Stress and Farmers’ Coping Mechanism in Kecamatan Kalisat Kabupaten Jember. The type of this research was descriptive and simple random sampling was chosen to collect the data sampling technique. 100 farmers were collected. The respondents were measured by using farmers’ stress questionnaire and Brief farmers’ coping mechanism questionnaire COPE. The result of stress representation and farmer’s coping mechanisme analysis showed that the number of farmer’s stress tend to be cognitive response. Meanwhile, the result of coping mechanism showed that most of farmer’s coping mechanism more focus on emotion rather than problem. Test the validity of the stress questionnaire obtained r table = 0.497 with α = 0.05 and reliability of 0.703. Whereas for the coping mechanism α = 0.05 questionnaire, the validity of r table 0.361 and the reliability of 0.778 were obtained. Ethical tests were carried out in this study at the Faculty of Dentistry, Jember University No. 465 / UN25.8 / KEPK / DL / 2019.The result of this study can be a reference for nurses and primary health care service to diagnose farmers’ health diseases especially psychological diseases such as stress and coping mechanism. Nurses can do a preventive efforts, intervention, and health education about factors and symptoms of stress and coping mechanism to the farmers.

Pregnancy is the privilege of experiencing God’s miracles on the earth. Childbirth is a new experience to the primigravida women. It is a time when a woman’s power and strength emerge full force, but it is also a vulnerable time and a time of many changes presenting opportunities for personal growth. Pregnancy and childbirth is a normal life event, yet women are exposed to significant amount of stress. It’s just as important to look after your mental health and wellbeing during pregnancy as your physical health. If you are mentally healthy, you will be in the best position to manage the challenges of pregnancy and life with a new baby. Aim of study: To assess the level of stress and coping strategies during third trimester of pregnancy among primi antenatal mothers with a view to recommend stress relieving strategies to be under taken during the antenatal period. Methodology: A quantitative approach non-experimental prospective correlational research design was chosen for the study. The study was conducted in selected hospital in Kottakkal, Kerala, India. The sample size of 30 primi antenatal mothers admitted in gynaec wards by non-probability purposive sampling technique. After taking the consent, data were collected using socio-demographic performa, structured stress scale, structured coping strategy scale. Data were analyzed and interpreted by descriptive and inferential statistics. Results and Conclusion: The analysis revealed that 70% of primi antenatal mothers experience mild stress and 30% experience moderate stress, 80% of the primi antenatal mothers have good coping strategy and remaining 20% have excellent coping strategy. There is a significant association exists between the level of stress of primi antenatal mothers during their third trimester of pregnancy with selected socio demographic variable gestational diabetes and there is a significant correlation exists between the level of stress and coping strategies among primi antenatal mothers during their third trimester of pregnancy (p value<0.05).

And to solve problems, to analyze and examine the relationship and influence between the independent variables on the dependent variable used models kausalistik through regression analysis with SPSS 14.0

The job of an orchestra musician is characterized by high demands and low control, which is a combination known to predispose to ill health. Research also indicates that musicians have high levels of subjective health complaints, complaints with limited or no objective findings. The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between subjective health complaints, stress, and coping in musicians. Thirty-five musicians in the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra filled in questionnaires about work, subjective health complaints, and coping. Saliva samples were collected to measure cortisol levels. The levels of subjective health complaints compared well with normative data from a representative sample of Norwegians, except for an unusually high level of “pseudoneurological” complaints (fatigue, mood changes). High levels of cortisol were positively related to the total number of subjective health complaints, gastrointestinal complaints, and “pseudoneurology” but not to musculoskeletal complaints. A high level of “emotion-focused coping” was associated with higher cortisol levels. Samples obtained during a concert showed a moderate but significant rise in cortisol levels.
