Drug interaction is an interaction among a drug with other ingredients that prevents the drug from giving certain or expected effect. Such interaction might happen between a drug and other drugs, drugs with food, as well as drugs and disease. Potential drug interaction in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in some hospitals had been reported by several previous publications. This study aimed to identify the potential of drug interactions in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Hospital X, South Tangerang. This paper is a descriptive research with retrospective retrieval data. Data were obtained in the form of patient medical records from July 2014 to June 2015. Data analysis was done by descriptive statistic analysis using SPSS version 16. The results showed that there were 90 medical records that fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Of these, 57.7% was found to be potential drug interaction. There are 55 drug interactions that potentially cause hypoglycemia, and there are 21 times that potentially cause hyperglycemia. The severity of interaction in moderate category was 89.39% (total of 66), and the rest was in minor category. Major categories were not found. The potential for drug interactions in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients is quite common and these findings complement the findings of previous published studies. Physicians and pharmacists as health workers who are directly related to the treatment of patients need to increase awareness of the potency of interactions of these drugs.

This research is a nonexperimental research with a descriptive design taken retrospectively. The sampling technique used in this study is total sampling based on the patient's medical record data. Data were analyzed using the classification of DRPs according to Cipolle 2004, then using Medscape Tools as a tool to check potential drug interactions. The results of this study were 61 patients including 29 patients (46%) with DRPs and 33 patients (54%) without DRPs. The number of male patients is 25 patients and the number of female patients is 36 patients with age range 25-45 and 46-65. Type 2 diabetes mellitus with chronic hyperglycemia can cause a hypoxic environment in the renal interstitium and can cause kidney disorders (diabetic nephropathy), this can lead to decreased kidney function and the production of erythropoietin produced by peritubular fibroblasts is disrupted, and hemoglobin is not formed optimally and occurs anemia. Thei purposei ofi thisi studyi wasi toi determinei hemoglobini levelsi in patients withi typei 2i diabetesi mellitusi in RSUD. K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro Semarang. This is a descriptive quantitative study, the data comes from the medical records of patients with typei 2i diabetesi mellitusi withi complicationsi ofi diabetici nephropathyi at RSUD K.R.M.T Wongsonegoro Semarang as many as 40 samples with non-probability samplingi itechnique. The results showed that there were 20 men who had decreased hemoglobin levels and 1 person who had normal hemoglobin levels. Meanwhile, in women, 17 people had decreased hemoglobin levels and 2 people had normal hemoglobin levels. Based on the age category, the most were the early elderly as many as 15 people and the least in the late teens and early adults each as many as 2 people. Meanwhile, based on the average level of anemia, more experienced moderate levels of anemia. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between duration of DM2 with hearing impairment.Method: The analytic observasional study with the cross sectional design using the medical record of DM2 outpatient in internal clinic of Islamic Sultan Agung Hospital Semarang and also pure tone audiometric examination’s record in Otorynolaryngology clinic of Islamic Sultan Agung Hospital Semarang.31 medical records of DM2 patients were meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data consist of 18 medical records of patients with less than6 years duration of DM2, and 13 medical records of patients with more than 6 years duration of DM2. The pure tone audiometry was used to classified the hearing impairment. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS 20.0. The correlation between the duration of DM2 and hearing impairment was analyzed using Chi Square test. The significance relation between the duration of DM type 2 and hearing impairment was analyzed using cooficient contigency, with significance of < 0.05. Result: hearing impairment’s distribution frequency on tested ears in Sultan agung Islamic Hospital Semarang were 27 ears having SNHL type (43,5%), 19 ears having CHL (30,6%) and 16 ears were normal (25,8%), p = 0,02 (p < 0,05). Background: Hypertension and diabetes have become important world-wide public-health challenges. Assessment of risk for Hypertension and Diabetes requires identifying an easy tool that can be used by health workers in screening programmes. To compare predictive value of WHtR against BMI in assessing risk of Hypertension and Diabetes. Methods: A case-control study was carried out at MB Hospital and Urban Health Training Centre (UHTC) attached to RNT Medical College, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Selected individuals were examined and interviewed using semi-structured questionnaire. Anthropometric measurements were carried out. Odds ratios were derived for quantitative analysis. Results: Observed proportion of BMI ≥ 25 kg /m2 was 60.4% in type 2 diabetes cases, whereas 39.6% in controls. Odds ratio was 2.383. Observed proportion of BMI ≥ 25 kg/ m2 was 66.7% in HTN cases, whereas 33.3% in controls with a Odds ratio of 3.484. An Odds ratio of 3.151, showed existence of strong association of WHtR above 0.5 with hypertension. Observed proportion of WHtR above 0.5 was 56.3% in type 2 diabetes cases, whereas 43.7% in controls and Odds ratio was 4.292. Conclusions: The OR of WHtR in diabetes (4.292) in compared to OR of BMI (2.303), shows the strength of association of WHtR as an alarming risk factor for diabetes than BMI; whereas an equivalent strength of association was observed for hypertension. Study favours the use of anthropometric measures especially WHtR for predicting type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension.

AbstractDiabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that is closely related to lifestyle. This disease is exprienced by many people in the world. The family has to provide support that can have a positive impact on dietary complience. It can be in the form of being able to control what can be consumed according to the recommendations of health workers during the diet, reminding each other, and providing support to family members who are on a diabetes mellitus diet. To determine the description of family support and dietary complience in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The research method used in this study was a literature review by conducting an online searh from the Medline database source and the Garuda portal. There were 5 articles found that matched the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results showed that 361 respondents (52,7%) had good family support and 432 respondents (63%) had non-adherent dietary compliance levels. Good family support can prevent complications and help treatment so that patients are more enthusiastic and can carry out activites as usual. Dietary non-compliance can delay the patient’s recovery. Familly support, although it is good, does not guarantee that dietary complience will also be good. Other factors can affect dietary complience, such as age, education, and occupation. Keywords: Type 2 diabetes mellitus; family suppor; dietary complience   AbstrakDiabetes mellitus merupakan penyakit kronis yang berhubungan erat dengan pola hidup, penyakit ini banyak dialami oleh penduduk di dunia.
