Today the labor market flexibility to be a trend among young people. This emergence of flexibility becomes an ambivalence. On the one hand, it is a form of adaptation with increasingly mobile work. However, according to Guy Standing flexibility actually produces  new dangerous class. The vulnerability arises in the form of no guarantee of protection for workers and the security of the labor market. Through netnographic studies the author seeks to examine the employment choices of youth as micro-celebrities, the benefits gained, obstacles faced and negotiations carried out to answer the uncertainty that leads to his work. The researcher observed through the internet and conducted in-depth interviews. The selection of research informants was purposively conducted, namely, micro-Sebritic workers living in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in ages 16-30 years. From the results of the study found that: First, working as a micro-celebrity is the need for leisure. For young people working as micro-celebrities is a hobby as well as a profession. Second, many micro-celebrities are faced with dilemmas and uncertainty situations, both coming from themselves and parents. Finally, negotiations are carried out by youth to deal with uncertainty over their work and the dilemma they face.

The media and other agents of socialization as youths’ sources of knowledge about sexualityThe discourse on sexual education expresses great diversity of norms, beliefs, and attitudes towards sex and is dominated by the voices of adults who belong to the political and symbolic elites (i.e., politicians, teachers, clergy). Thus, the opinions of young people, which often reflect authentic personal and generational needs, are too often ignored. What is more, research shows that parents often seem to avoid discussions regarding sexuality with their children, ceding the responsibility to educate young people on the school. However, evaluations of how "introduction to family life" curriculum is implemented suggest that it is often conducted on an unsatisfactory level. Consequently, young people are forced to acquire and verify information about sexuality on their own. Based on individual in‑depth interviews this analysis refers to chosen sources from which young people obtain knowledge about sexuality. The article focuses on one of such sources: the media (including the Internet). It aims also to discuss young people's ambivalence towards self-acquired knowledge about sexuality.

Central Java is one of provinces that is progressive in developing its industries, especially in manufacturing. However, the unemployment rate among youth in this province turns out to be considerably high. The high number of unemployment rates and low participation in the labor market among youth are caused by various factors. One of them is the gap between human resources and demand in the labor market. The gap in education, skills, and access to information triggering the condition whereas youth are not counted to involve in the labor market. This gap certainly emerged based on the social class differences inherent in each young people. In addition, gender differences also affect opportunities and freedom in choosing a job. This research uses qualitative methods with the process of observation, in-depth interviews, and Focus Group Discussion as techniques for data collecting. Through the selection of two female and two male informants (purposive sampling), this research concludes that social class factors, gender, and changing contexts, especially in the conditions of Labor Market Flexibility (LMF) became the main factors in shaping and influencing the transition process related to future aspirations of youth. The application of neoliberalism and Labor Market Flexibility perpetuates the social reproduction based on class and gender which enables social gaps to increase in the future. This condition is predicted to marginalize poor and vulnerable young people even more

Abstract:This paper is a contribution to the reflection upon the responsibility underlying socioeducational practice with Young people in their transitions into the labor market. This reflection is twofold: On the one side, it consists of an anthropological justification on the subject, his/her will and his/her ability to take decisions, which is behind any socioeducational intervention. On other side, the paper reviews the German tradition on Social Education as one among the educational sciences, and the tensión it suffers upon the mandate received from society, consisting of a control practice as well as an empowering one, particularly with people at risk. Upon several examples taken from training practice within programs framed by transition systems, the author suggests a series of principles ruling intervention in order to guarantee its true educational value before any instrumentalization which ends up damaging both the subject as well as the labor market.

With the growing centrality of the smartphone in everyday life, the news and public information that young people consume is increasingly subject to algorithmic curation. From the apps and websites of legacy news media to news aggregators and social media, more and more spaces through which young people access news are personalized. Yet, while numerous studies explore algorithms’ influence on citizens’ everyday life, few of these have considered how users themselves perceive and deal with news personalization. This paper considers how young news users experience the algorithmic selection of the news they receive via their smartphones, and how and under what circumstances they aim to negotiate these decisions. Combining walk-through methods with in-depth interviews, it explores young people’s perceptions of algorithms affect their practices on personalized news media and how they aim to intervene in news personalization. The paper finds a variety of tactics through which audiences intervene in algorithmic news selection, arguing that these can be seen as expressions of algorithmic literacy. These practices, however, are far from self-evident: overall, even amongst frequent users of personalized media, algorithmic awareness and knowledge are low. Moreover, such literacy varies considerably between platform contexts. This is problematic, as these deficiencies prevent young people from assessing the completeness, accuracy and balance of the news they are exposed to. Thus, the study stresses a need for media educators to pay more attention to how algorithmic curation shapes the news that users encounter, to further empower young people to navigate an increasingly personalized media landscape.

Abstract Romania’s security interests and objectives, the army missions in the current geopolitical context and Romania’s obligations as a member of NATO have imposed the continuation of the process of quantitative and qualitative restructuring of the human resources and determined the decision to renounce compulsory military service in favor of the one based on volunteering, starting with the first of January of 2007. The transition from the army based on compulsory military service to the one based on voluntary service imposed the repositioning of the military profession on the Romanian labor market, especially in relation to the competition represented by other similar institutions.

The issue of the shortage of qualifi ed workers is of relevant importance in the Russian labor market. The modern labor market in the Russian Federation is in dire need of workforce. The market economy places high demands on the quality of the workforce, its professionalism, educational and qualification level. In conditions of fierce competition in the labor market for specialists, jobs at manufacturing enterprises are often unoccupied for various reasons. On the one hand, companies offering vacancies for blue-collar workers cannot find employees with sufficient qualifi cations. On the other hand, people who have received a vocational profession cannot ensure the fulfi llment of important production orders at the proper level, due to the lack of the necessary qualifications. Thirdly, young people prefer to work anywhere, but not in the field they studied. The article is devoted to the key issues of training specialists at the present stage. Research methods include a comprehensive analysis of statistical data and articles on resolving the problem of the workforce shortage, ways to solve the problem of the provision of proper qualification level in vocational specialties, increasing the prestige of vocational professions and motivating young people to work in the field of industrial production. As a result of the analysis carried out in the article, the author concludes that a positive change in this direction can be achieved only under the condition of an integrated approach to the problem and involvement of all interested parties in its solution. Meanwhile, the main emphasis should be placed on early vocational guidance, motivation and incentivization of young people and students, and increasing the prestige of vocational occupations.

Do you remember the one time you forgot your smartphone at home, the Internet connection did not work, or your computer just did not turn on? Many of us have experienced those frustrating, almost desperate moments. And yet, we crave for new ways of interacting with and through technology. This chapter illustrates how the senses are increasingly meeting technology and how our experiences are moving from reality, to mixed reality (involving both physical and digital worlds), to full virtuality (digital only). It presents a selection of eight representative examples where technology enables the design of multisensory experiences along the reality–virtuality continuum.

This article presents ongoing findings of a larger research project oriented towards the analysis of counter-hegemonic narratives produced and shared in digital media by Haitian immigrants during 2015 and 2017. The analysis demonstrates how these narratives evidence racism experienced by these immigrants residing in Brazil. The analytical corpus is comprised of a selection of these media narratives as well as the examination of in-depth interviews conducted with Haitian immigrants in the Southeast, South and Mid-East areas of Brazil. Results show two dimensions in these narratives. On the one hand, the recognition and denunciation of racism marks the insertion and trajectory of Haitians in Brazil; on the other hand, the growing efforts for producing other representations in Haiti and Haitians in Brazil.

With the aim of understanding the recent migration processes of young Spaniards settled in Chile, the present paper analyzes, on the one hand, how these young people experience their arrival and establishment in said Latin American country and, in the other hand, how the process of returning and readjusting to Spanish society takes place. For that, and following the procedures of the Grounded Theory, the discourses of 37 Spanish migrants obtained through in depth interviews were analyzed: 22 of them are living in Chile and the other 15 returned to Spain after spending a long period in Chilean society and have been living in Spain for at least one year since then. All of them have university degrees, are between 25 and 35 years old, and arrived in Chile between 2013 and 2018. This qualitative study shows the way in which these migrants experience their sociocultural integration in Chilean society, which could be typified as “nostalgic” since it is characterized by the idealization of and the longing for their society of origin. Another key characteristic is the eventual return to the country of origin, in which the desynchronization they experience is especially remarkable: after a long period abroad, they feel disconnected from the transformations that have taken place in their original environment, which leads them to experience a difficult process of readjustment to Spanish society that sometimes is even more complex than that experienced abroad.
