Development of Christian Character Education Based Project Based Learning Teaching Materials to Improve Student Character

Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini untuk memahami secara komprehensif nilai-nilai humaniora dalam antologi puisi "Blues untuk Bonnie" karya WS Rendra. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi pustaka, dan teknik analisis data dengan analisis isi melalui kajian struktural semiotik. Hasil penelitian yakni antologi puisi Blues untuk Bonnie karya WS Rendra mengandung nilai-nilai humaniora yang terlihat melalui tanda-tanda semiotik berupa moralitas, simpati, empati, kasih sayang, kepedulian, kerjasama, dan toleransi. Temuan penelitian ini merekomendasikan bahwa masih banyak jenis-jenis karya sastra yang dapat dijadikan objek kajian dengan menggunakan pendekatan-pendekatan yang berbeda untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai pendidikan terutama pendidikan karakter bagi siswa dan mahasiswa. Temuan penelitian ini memberikan implikasi terhadap pengajaran sastra di sekolah lanjutan sampai perguruan tinggi dalam bentuk penyusunan bahan ajar atau pengembangan model pembelajaran apresiasi sastra sebagai alternatif pemecahan masalah pendidikan karater bangsa. Kata Kunci: Nilai-nilai humaniora, antologi puisi, kajian struktural semiotik Abstract The objective of this research is to understand comprehensively the humanities values in antology of poetry "Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra. The research used content analysis method with qualitative approach. Data collection techniques are used library study and data analysis techniques with content analysis through the study of structuralism semiotic. The result was the antology of poetry 'Blues for Bonnie" by WS Rendra contains humanities values seen through semiotic signs are morality, symphaty, empbaty, love, care, togetherness, and tolerant. The findings lead to the recomendation that there are still many kinds of literary works which can be the object of research by using different approaches for investigating education characters! values for students. This finding implicates to literary instruction in schools to universities in forms of teaching materials or literary appreciation instruction as one of the alternative problem solving of the nation character education. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengembangkan model bahan ajar sastra berbasis cerita rakyat dengan pendekatan CTL untuk pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar Kota Bengkulu. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pengembangan Borg & Gall yang digabungkan dengan langkah-langkah pengembangan bahan ajar Jolly & Bolitho. Penelitian dilakukan di SD Kota Bengkulu.Hasil analisis kebutuhan ditemukan bahwa bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia tidak menyertakan cerita rakyat Bengkulu dalam pembelajaran dan kompetensi guru dan siswa berkenaan dengan cerita rakyat belum memadai. Hasil rancangan bahan ajar sastra berbasis cerita rakyat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut efektif,layak digunakan, dan valid menurut validasi ahli materi, media, kurikulum, dan karakter. Bahan ajar Sastra berbasis cerita rakyat dengan pendekatan CTL di SD untuk pendidikan karakter efektif hasil pengembangan dan yang digunakan kelompok besar juga menyatakan dengan kriteria baik.Terdapat perbedaan keefektifan yang signifikan pada kemampuan hasil belajar siswa antara kelompok menggunakan bahan ajar sastra berbasis cerita rakyat dan kelompok yang tidak menggunakan bahan ajar bahasa Indonesia berbasis cerita rakyat.Hasil validasi bahan ajar kelompok pakar dengan kriteria sangat baik, dan guru dengan kriteria sangatbaik. Respon penguna bahan ajar guru dan siswa baik, maka dapat disimpulkan bahan ajar yang di rancang layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Kata Kunci: bahan ajar, cerita rakyat, CTL, dan pendidikan karakter Abstract The research aims to used is develop teaching literature material model based on folklore and CTL approach for the education of character at Elementary School in Bengkulu city. The reasearch method using Researched Developmentof Borg & Gall combined with folly and Bolithoâ€™s material development steps. Research was done in Elementary School in Bengkulucity. The data were collected by surveys, interviews,and questionnaires. The need identification shows that teaching material of Bahasa Indonesia did not includ folklore of Bengkulu in class; and the ability of teachers and students wasnot yet adequate. Literature teaching materials using folklore was found effective and validaccording to experts of media, curriculum, and character. There were significant difference of effectiveness in which students using literature teaching materials using folklore and which were not. Materials validation by expert group and teacher judgementwas very good. Teacher and students well respond to the teaching materials, so it can be concluded that literature teaching materials was effective for teaching literature. The course for developing teaching materials is a subject that must be taken by educational students. Students as prospective teachers must be able to make good quality teaching materials so that learning can run effectively and efficiently. In the course of developing instructional materials, students are required to be able to produce a print teaching material that is appropriate for use by students. Teaching materials can be said to be of good quality and appropriate if it is in accordance with the learning objectives that must be achieved by students. This research is a descriptive study with an analysis of teaching materials that have been developed by students through project-based learning. The results of the study can be seen that the quality of teaching materials that have been developed along with the cognitive abilities of students master the material of teaching material development subjects. This study aims to determine the intrinsic elements and the value of character education in the Pawang Ternalem drama script, as well as to determine the benefits of the analysis of drama scripts as teaching materials for Indonesian in Grade VIII. This study uses qualitative methods with data analysis techniques used are descriptive analysis. Based on the results of data processing, the research results show that in the Pawang Ternalem drama script there are intrinsic elements including themes, characters and characterizations, plot, setting, language style in dialogue, and mandate. In addition to the intrinsic elements of the drama script, 10 character education values were found, namely the values of religious character education, honesty, tolerance, hard work, creative, independent, respect for achievement, friendly / communicative, social care, and responsibility.

A serious challenge which is faced by teachers is educating character and bringing norms being practiced by the society into the classrooom, and English teacher is no exception. The challenge makes IndonesianEducation is very dynamic as everything dealing with normsis always thethe concern and developed by scholars, parents as well as the government. Some scholars propose to foster English teachers as models of practicing norms, while some others think to integrate norms into teaching materials. The second thought invites curriousity on how the writer of English textbook supports the recent concern on norms, and the research on it becomes very important to do. Therefore the research dealing with several reading passages in the English Textbook was done. The design was descriptive qualitative which aimed at investigating whether the writer of English textbook integrates norms in reading passages he/ she wrote. The data was norms, while the data sources were reading passages in the 2015-English Textbook developed by The Ministry of Education and Culture. The result describes that norms of trust, discipline, respect to others and self-confidence were found in reading passages. It can be then concluded that the writer of English textbook integratesnorms in the text he/ she writes. The results of the research implies not only the seriousness of scholars, parents and government in fostering character education, but also the support and care of textbook writer in succeeding the education.It is therefore suggested to teachers, scholars as well as book writer to always concern with the society’s need in developing education, especially in sharing the existed and practiced norms.

This study aims to create and develop teaching materials for early childhood education (PAUD) media units to facilitate learning processes. The teaching materials developed are compiled with a project-based learning approach. The research was conducted on the PAUD media unit in the Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) undergraduate program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research is following Dick and Carey’s model of Research and Development. The development stage focuses on determining instructional goals, analyzing learning materials, analyzing student abilities in the learning context, determining learning targets, developing instruments, developing project-based learning strategies, and applying them to learning. The results showed that students could develop media in line with learning needs and aspects of children’s development using teaching materials.

Abstract: Teaching material is an important learning element, it gets the attention of the teacher so that students can learn the things needed to achieve learning goals. This analysis aims to determine the suitability of class IV thematic textbooks with the Ministry of Education and Culture regulation Number 21 of 2016, the scope of social studies material. The suitability of textbooks with the characteristics of students and the literacy contained therein. The results of the analysis show: 1) Based on the content standards contained in the Regulation of the Minister of Education and Culture Number 21 of 2016, Class IV Thematic textbooks published by the Ministry of Education and Culture have met the predetermined standards. 2) it is in accordance with the development of students both in terms of material presentation, writing and image portions in the textbook. 3) there is no HOTS in the whole learning theme. 4) and there is financial literacy, culture and citizenship and character education.
