This study aims to create and develop teaching materials for early childhood education (PAUD) media units to facilitate learning processes. The teaching materials developed are compiled with a project-based learning approach. The research was conducted on the PAUD media unit in the Early Childhood Islamic Education (PIAUD) undergraduate program at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. This research is following Dick and Carey’s model of Research and Development. The development stage focuses on determining instructional goals, analyzing learning materials, analyzing student abilities in the learning context, determining learning targets, developing instruments, developing project-based learning strategies, and applying them to learning. The results showed that students could develop media in line with learning needs and aspects of children’s development using teaching materials.

Abstract. In Early Childhood Education (0-6 years), pupils experience an enormous physical and maturative development of their bodies. They use it as a fundamental instrument to know and explore the physical and social context that surrounds them. Being aware of the need to reach an integral development that promotes the children’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive capacities in a balanced way, psychomotor strategies are implemented in the classrooms to favour the development of physical abilities such as general coordination, balance and gross motor skills. In this work we present various resources with which children are able to interact at a physical level to stimulate their movements and encourage their creativity. The use of appropriate resources will lead to an adjusted and progressive recognition of the children’s body image, as a basis for developing an adequate personal identity and level of self-esteem. Specifically, this paper presents a descriptive analysis of how these strategies and resources are used in classrooms, namely in the second cycle of early childhood education (3-6 years), in relation to psychomotor activities, when working with a project-based learning approach.

This study aims to develop a value-based teaching material for Citizenship Education (PKn) together with the local wisdom of the Minangkabau community to build the national character of the fifth grade students of Elementary School. The research conducted is research and development with the ADDIE research model which is an acronym in English from the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. By participating in the development stage of the ADDIE model, teaching material development is carried out by combining the values of togetherness found in the local wisdom of the Minangkabau community in a single unit of learning material. Data obtained from the validation of teaching materials, classroom learning practices, and the effectiveness of learning from student learning outcomes. The results of this study indicate that the development of Pkn teaching materials based on the values of togetherness of the Minangkabau community has been successfully carried out based on data on the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of teaching materials in learning in Class V of Elementary School. Keywords: Development Research, Minangkabau, PKn, SD Togetherness Value.

In Aotearoa New Zealand, leadership within the early childhood education (ECE) sector is both positionally assigned and a required practice of all teachers. Within this context, distributed leadership – where all team members have the opportunity to lead – is increasingly seen as an effective leadership model (Thornton, 2010). The purported benefits of distributed leadership have significant overlap with professional learning: increased engagement, deeper learning, context-specific learning and improved pedagogical practices among teachers (Poekert, 2012). This study considers the relationship between distributed leadership and professional learning in ECE settings, and seeks to discover practices of effective positional leaders in facilitating both. A nationwide survey was carried out in Aotearoa New Zealand to capture a picture of current perceptions of ECE teachers and positional leaders about professional learning communities and, in particular, distributed leadership for professional learning. Subsequently, the leadership practices for distributed leadership and professional learning in three previously-identified high quality ECE services were investigated through individual and group interviews. The analysis of literature, survey and interview findings from this study led to a framework of effective leadership practice, consisting of six elements: inquiry and articulation of thinking; teachers enacting leadership; collaboration and dialogue; mentoring and coaching; fostering relational trust; and, creating vision and designing supportive structures.

Early childhood education is being conducted at home in the event of a Covid-19 pandemic. Parents in the WhatsApp Group receive teaching materials from the teacher via this method of instruction. As a result, teachers and parents must work together to ensure that children at home are still receiving an education that is tailored to their individual needs. This study used a qualitative approach based on interviews with teachers and parents from five Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal Kindergartens located in Pekanbaru City. In the study, teachers and parents found that a positive attitude in communication patterns between them. They can lead to good patterns of cooperation, with parents being able to guide and motivate their children while implementing learning at home and being directly involved in learning with children by accompanying their children while studying.

In the last decade, gamification has become one of the teaching-learning strategies that has received the most attention in the world of education. This new tool uses the elements of the games to design experiences that attract the attention of students, increase their interest and motivation, and improve their learning results. Nevertheless, despite the potential of gamification, teachers are faced with the difficulty of fusing curricular elements with gamable elements to achieve an effective educational experience adapted to the curricular level of students. For this reason, the present chapter aims to design a didactic proposal of gamification destined to work with contents of physical education in the pre-school stage. This chapter shows that gamification can be used in the field of early childhood education without the need to use a large amount of educational resources, if teachers have knowledge about the process to be followed to adapt the curriculum.

Much of the didactic material of São Tomé and Príncipe for teaching and learning situations for early childhood education is not guided by interdisciplinary dialogue between design and education suitable to the country’s context. A proposal is presented for a system of objects that support the early childhood education curriculum, designed to be used as a guide and supporting material for preschool teachers of São Tomé and Principe and illustrates the various ways in which design can contribute to teaching-learning processes, strengthening knowledge building through the development of artefacts, environments, and education systems. This material is one of the outcomes of the project developed by the Interdisciplinary Education Design Lab¬ (LIDE), from PUC-Rio, Brazil, using the Design in Partnership methodology for the development of curriculum content for early childhood education. The project is being developed by researchers at LIDE/PUC-Rio, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science of the Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe, Africa, and UNICEF, and has other spheres of action, including the development of early childhood education curriculum content, ongoing teacher and assistant training courses, the recycling course offering for educators and assistants, the teaching materials project, and the redesign of physical spaces in kindergartens. This material contributes to the application of the curriculum under development. Key words: education design, design in partnership, early childhood education, teaching materials.

Early childhood education is the basis for the development of individual character in his future life. Teachers are not only required to master the fields of science, teaching materials, and methods, but also must be able to motivate students to have skills, be creative and have broad insights. This relates to the potential that exists in the community that has not been carried out optimally, so it requires the involvement of other parties in this case universities to provide counseling and training to the community. Therefore, there was a training and counseling activity for kindergarten and TPA teachers located at the At-Taqwa Mosque.
