Abstract: In this developing era concrete and cement mortar are widely used by the construction industry, with this development. Large number of industrial wastes are generated and if these wastes are not properly used it will create severe problems, keeping the environment in mind, concrete engineers are trying to find some alternative materials which will not only replaces the cement content but also improves strength of concrete. As we also know that during the manufacturing of cement large amount of Co2 is released into the environment, but if we use such material that will replace the quantity of cement content therefore indirectly, we are contributing towards the prevention of our planet from global warming and other pollutions. Also, in this research work the Rice Husk Ash is used. the rice husk ash obtained from the rice processing units, by adding this product with concrete, not only replaces the cement content but also increases the strength of concrete like compressive strength etc. The Rice husk ash was incorporated with concrete with varying percentages of 2.5% ,5% ,7.5%, & 10%. the proper codal precautions were followed during the manufacture of concrete cubes of 150x150x150mm. it was concluded that the strength of concrete increased by incorporated the rice husk ash. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the influence of mineral additives i.e. metakaolin, silica fume, rice ash and fly ash incorporating with nanocarbontubes mortar composites. The effects on compressive strength at 28 days were also discussed and presented. Cement content of 500 kg/m3, water/cement ratio of 0.6 and aggregate/cement ratio of 2.75 were adopted for the mix propotion. 1%, 3% and 5% of nanocarbontubes in mortar were combined with 15% of mineral additives. The results show that mixtures of nanocarbontubes with 15% of metakaolin produce better strength compared to normal mortar. Meanwhile with addition of fly ash and rice husk ash the strength were decreased. The electrical resistance for all mixes at 28 days were also discussed and presented. The higher percentages of nanocarbon with addition of all mineral additives resulted in lower electrical resistance properties


In this research work, the effect of rice husk ash on concrete produced with cellulose industrial residue was studied. A mix proportion of 1:1.8:3.7 with water cement ratio of 0.47 were used. The percentage replacement of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) with cellulose industrial residue and rice husk ash used were 0%, 5%, 10%, 20% 30% and 40%. Concrete cubes of 150mm x 150mm x 150mm of Ordinary Portland Cement/Cellulose Industrial Residue and Ordinary Portland Cement/Cellulose Industrial Residue/Rice Ash were cast and cured at 3,7,28,60 and 90 days respectively. At the end of each hydration period, the concrete cubes were crushed and their compressive strength were determined. The result of compressive strength of 5-40% replacement of cement with cellulose industrial residue ranges from 13.02-32.81 N/mm2 as against 25.60-42.08N/mm2 for the control test. The result of the compressive strength of 5-40% replacement of cement with Cellulose Industrial Residue and Rice Husk Ash ranges from 13.17-36.30N/mm2 as against 25.60-42.08N/mm2 for the control test. The result of the initial and final setting time of Ordinary Portland Cement/Cellulose Industrial Residue and Cement/Cellulose Industrial Residue/Rice Husk Ash for 5-40% replacement of cement ranges from 61-118mins, 58-110mins and 620 – 836mins, 598 – 799mins respectively as against 52mins and 590mins for the control test. The main conclusion of this study is that the incorporation rice husk ash into cellulose industrial residue increase the strength of concrete produced. The objective of this study is to assess the strength of concrete produced when two pozzolanic materials were used to replace cement in producing concrete.

This research studies the potential for using waste ash from industrial and agricultural by-products as a pozzolanic material. Classified fly ash (FA) and ground rice husk ash (RA) were the materials used. Water requirement, compressive strength and porosity of cement mortar were investigated. Test results indicated that FA and RA (waste ash) have a high potential to be used as a good pozzolanic material. The water requirement of mortar mix decreases with the increases in fly ash content. For ground rice husk ash (RA), the water requirement of mortar mix increases with the increases in rice husk ash content. In addition, the reduction in porosity was associated with the increase in compressive strength.

Infrastructural developments are inevitable for the developing countries and hence the production of sustainable building materials is promoted worldwide. Sustainable development in the vicinity of tiles is bewildered for more than a decade. Production of conventional tiles such as cement concrete tiles, clay tiles and ceramic tiles is energy intensive approach and levies lot of strain over the adjunct ecosystem. On the other hand there are serious problems related to the disposal of flyash, Rice Husk Ash throughout the world. An approach has been taken to synthesis tiles based on these industrial byproducts as the base materials through Geopolymer technology. In this work, Geopolymer mortar after heat curing is applied as tiles. In this work, Flyash is replaced by Rice Husk Ash in various proportions such as 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 percent. Tests such as workability, flatness, straightness, perpendicularity, water absorption, modulus of rupture and abrasion are conducted and fair results are obtained. This research also portrays the effect of Rise Husk Ash addition over the flyash based Geopolymer binder in the utility as tiles. AbstractThis paper presents an experimental study on the characteristics of earth cement blocks with Rice Husk Ash (RHA) as a partial replacement to cement. The replacement of RHA content is limited to 0%, 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% by mass of the total binder in the earth cement block. The experiments on earth cement blocks investigate the compressive strength and flexural tensile strength for mechanical properties and water absorption, sorption rate and erosion against water spray for its durability. Due to the high content of SiO2 in RHA with great reactivity, a significant increase in the compressive and flexural tensile strength of earth cement blocks was observed up to 10% RHA content. However, the durability of earth cement blocks becomes adverse with the increasing percentage of RHA replacement, but within the allowable limit. The experimental results indicate that to some extent, RHA based earth cement blocks have a significant potential for reduction in cement used in the construction industry.

Geopolymer is a greener alternative cement produced from the reaction of pozzolans and strong alkali solutions. Generally, the cement industry is one of largest producers of CO2that caused global warming. For geopolymer mortar usage, Portland cement is not utilized at all. In this research, geopolymer mortars were prepared by mixing metakaolin, various wastes (fly ash, bagasse ash and rice husk ash) varied as 80:20, 50:50 and 20:80, 15M NaOH, Na2SiO3and sand. The influence of various parameters such as metakaolin to ashes ratios and pozzolans to alkali ratios on engineering properties of metakaolin blended wastes geopolymer mortar were studied. Compressive strength tests were carried out on 25 x 25 x 25 mm3cube geopolymer mortar specimens at 7, 14, 21, 28 and 91 air curing days. Physical and chemical properties were also investigated at the same times. The test results revealed that the highest compressive strength was 20% metakaolin - 80% fly ash geopolymer mortar. When the curing times increases, the compressive strength of geopolymer mortar also increases. The mixing of metakaolin and bagasse ash/rice husk ash presented lower compressive strength but higher water absorption and porosity. For FTIR results, Si-O, Al-O and Si-O-Na+were found. Moreover, the geopolymer mortar could easily plastered on the wall.

The increasing demand and consumption of cement have necessitated the use of slag, fly ash, rice husk ash (RHA), and so forth as a supplement of cement in concrete construction. The aim of the study is to develop a replacement of the cement with rice husk ash and slag combined with chemical activator. NaOH, Ca(OH)2, and KOH were used in varying weights and molar concentrations. Partial replacement of cement was tested for its consistency, setting time, flow, compressive strength, and fire. The consistency and setting time of the Partial Z-Cement (Zero cement) paste increase with increasing RHA content. The replacement of cement mortar achieves a compressive strength of 22–25MPa at  28 days with 5% NaOH or at 2.5or non used activator molar concentrations. The tested slabs were made of concrete and reinforced with bars with 10 mm diameter having and compressive strength evaluated from the compressive tests. The analysis of the slab deflection behavior has been presented after fire of samples. The results show the different character of the load-deflection relationship of a replacement of the cement with rice husk ash and slag reinforced slabs compared to traditionally reinforced slabs.

Now days, the waste rice husk from rice mill, marble powder from tile industry and fly ash from steam power plant are necessary to utilize as partial replacement of cement for concrete production. Large scale production of cement required consumption of raw materials and energy as well as emissions to air which posse’s environmental threat in various areas of country. Apart from the environmental threat, there still exists the problem of shortage in many areas. Therefore, substitute material for concrete needs to be considered. The paper aims to analyze the compressive strength of concrete cubes and flexural strength of concrete beams made from partially replaced cement, sand, and coarse aggregate. This research study adopted in laboratory on 48 total specimens of grade M25 concrete cubes of size 150x150x150mm and concrte beams of size 100x100x500mm were casted. Out of the 48 concrete specimens cast, 6 each were made out 10%, 20%, and 30 % replacement of fly ash, rice husk ash and marble powder to cement in concrete. It was found that the compressive strength and flexural strength of concrete made from the mixture of 20 % partially replaced cement, sand and coarse aggregate was similar than the concrete made from without replaced cement , sand and coarse aggregate.
