Improving learning activities requires teaching materials that can accommodate students' scientific skills. This study aims to produce textbooks for additives and addictive substances with a scientific approach and analyze their validity and effectiveness. This research and development used the Borg & Gall model which consists of 10 steps. Products are validated by media experts and material experts. The product trial used a limited test with 15 students of seventh grade in junior high school. The validation results show that the product is valid and very good. Meanwhile, the results of the trial of student responses to the use of the average value of 89.13% and learning outcomes increased by 87%. Thus, the textbooks developed are very suitable for use in the learning process.

The low learning outcomes of mathematics at junior high school level students are due to the low ability of students to use and assess the relationship between mathematics topics and organize the information obtained. One of the learning models with the discussion method that encourages students to use and assess the relationship between mathematical topics and organize the information obtained is the cooperative CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) learning model. The purpose of this study was to analyze the improvement of students' mathematical representation abilities through CORE models and analyzing differences in mathematical representation abilities between students using a cooperative CORE model with students using the learning method with the scientific approach, as well as to see student responses to the cooperative learning model type CORE. The method used is the Quasi Experimental Design method with type Non equivalent Control Group Design, with a population of all class VIII students of Al Ihsan Legenda Bekasi Junior High School for the 2019/2020 school year. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. The instruments used were questionnaire sheets and essay tests in accordance with the indicators of mathematical representation in the Functions. The results showed that there were differences in mathematical representation abilities between students who used the cooperative CORE model by using the learning method with a scientific approach, as well as student responses after using the CORE cooperative, make students more active and make it easier for students to learn the material and can improve student learning outcomes.

Less optimal learning at the junior high school level, especially in science subjects, in South Solok District, especially in natural science subjects can be seen from the results of the 2016 UN ranking which is ranked 16 of the 19 cities / districts in West Sumatra. This happens, because the competence of teachers in designing and implementing contextual learning based on the scientific approach is still low. This community partnership program aims to improve pedagogic competence of science teachers in South Solok District Junior High School through mentoring in designing contextual learning based on the scientific approach and implementing it in the classroom. The method used consists of orientation and discussion stages, implementation preparation stages, implementation stages by providing assistance in designing contextual learning with a scientific approach (such as preparing RPP, Multimedia, and guidance for teachers) and assisting teachers in implementing contextual learning with a scientific approach , the monitoring and evaluation phase and the last stage of data analysis and report preparation. Data collection instruments used are questionnaire sheets to assess the implementation of activities and padegogic ability tests. The data analysis used was paired t test. Based on data analysis results of pretest and posttest, obtained an increase in the average value from 14.17 to 20.35, with an interval of values from 0 to 30. So the average value, posttest is higher than the pretest value. From the t test also obtained a significance result of 0.000 <0.05, so it can be concluded that there are significant differences between the results of the pretest and posttest. Furthermore, based on the questionnaire given at the end of the training activity, the results showed that the participants stated that this activity was very useful and related to the subjects taught at school.
