The article focuses on training students' speaking skills thus helping them integrate academically and socially. In the current information and social context, speaking competence and confidence are crucial for professional success, which makes the task of leading students to successful communication especially relevant. Various formats and strategies described in the article have proved to be effective through years of foreign language teaching. Extensive experience gives us enough grounds to argue that combining theory (e. g. Grice's maxims) and practice (helping students structure their speeches, taking part in Public speaking forums, revealing anchoring techniques) results in enhanced communication skills. As these teaching strategies appear to be only rudimentary in the Russian educational landscape, looking into their potential might be really instrumental. The development of the following skills can be seen as particularly beneficial: (i) neurolinguistic programming for capturing and keeping listeners' attention, decoding neurolinguistic mechanisms of other language speakers (including manipulation techniques), (ii) structuring speech in accordance with the international standards, (iii) building a discussion around a current event that has received massive coverage in the media.

The present work born of a concern by the Spanish in Iraq at the college level teaching especially to some structure that Arab students in general and Iraqis in particular, are in their learning process. Our first thought was, therefore, a direct and close to the student as subject of learning, as well as what the student produces as a result of the same attention. In this paper we intend to equip students of linguistic knowledge to be able to interact in a variety of situations and deal with everyday problems, in a way that develops the communication skills that enable him to establish a successful communication during the learning of Spanish as a foreign language that is the use of the structure "Como si". Although we are aware that it is foolish to provide clear-cut solutions to what all agree as one of the most important syntactic issues, and where you can see a huge contradiction of the different theoretical proposals. Thus, our work is an attempt to enable the students to be able to use and recognize this structure, especially in the early stages of learning.

The foundation of human relationships is communication, which is inevitable in today's world. Overcoming communication skills forms the basis of successful communication, moreover it is the recipient's ability to understand the message as it was imagined by the sender. During the education students face with presentations during which the fear of public speaking often occurs. This paper examines the factors that characterize the fear of public speaking, and their relation to communication skills. The study was conducted on a sample of 75 subjects, undergraduate and graduate students of the University, and it was realized through anonymous survey, which was set up on the social network of Facebook in the private group "University of Zadar". The results showed that the respondents during the oral presentations have a fear of public speaking to a large extent due to poor preparedness and lack of communication skills.

While metrics have long played an important, albeit fraught, role in the media and cultural industries, quantified indices of online visibility—likes, favorites, subscribers, and shares—have been indelibly cast as routes to professional success and status in the digital creative economy. Against this backdrop, this study sought to examine how creative laborers’ pursuit of social media visibility impacts their processes and products. Drawing upon in-depth interviews with 30 aspiring and professional content creators on a range of social media platforms—Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter—we contend that their experiences are not only shaped by the promise of visibility, but also by its precarity. As such, we present a framework for assessing the volatile nature of visibility in platformized creative labor, which includes unpredictability across three levels: (1) markets, (2) industries, and (3) platform features and algorithms. After mapping out this ecological model of the nested precarities of visibility, we conclude by addressing both continuities with—and departures from—the earlier modes of instability that characterized cultural production, with a focus on the guiding logic of platform capitalism.

This study investigates the effectiveness of flipped learning on English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners’ public speaking. An experimental design was implemented throughout the study, for which the researcher used convenience sampling. Seventy-nine sophomore students, from two intact English Public Speaking classes, were divided into a flipped learning group (FLG) and a conventional instruction group (CIG). This happened over a 12-week period where the focus was to investigate how a language learner’s experience of flipped learning or conventional instruction affected their English public speaking. The author used quantitative and qualitative methods to collect data: a pre- and post-in-class speech and a 250-word post-treatment reflective essay. Both an independent and paired t-test were used to analyze the scores of the speeches, whereas coding was used to specify the themes that emerged from the qualitative data. The results revealed that the FLG significantly outperformed the CIG in the areas of body language and paralanguage. In addition, they did better in the areas of content and organization, and developed other skills as will be detailed later. The findings can be an impetus for EFL instructors to adopt flipped learning in an English public speaking course.

This paper aims to shed some light on the use of Speaking Contest as an Activity to support the learning of Mandarin among non-native Chinese learners. Speaking Contest as an Activity can be a useful tool to motivate the learning of Mandarin among learners. This study was carried out during a Mandarin speaking competition held at UiTM (Perlis). A self-developed questionnaire was distributed to gain understanding and the views of the participants on the use of Mandarin in the speaking contest as an activity to support the learning of a Chinese language among the non-native Chinese learners. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. The findings revealed that students agreed that Mandarin speaking competition as an activity was useful to enhance their learning. Thus, activities such as Mandarin speaking contest can be used as creative practices in particular when teaching Mandarin as a foreign language and also for other foreign languages.
